I just want to wish you luck with your Recruitment! I was lucky enough to attend DphiE's Chartering Ceremony last week, and can assure you that if they are any indicator, you have wonderful chapters to choose from at FAU! Please keep us updated...:D

Question are you going through recruitment or are you part of the Panhellenic putting on recruitment or both? I see that in your signature you have the question "can you guess where i go" but then you talk about your recruitment staff and sign that you are VP of recruitment. Anyway, keep us posted how everything goes this week. Carolyn |
Add a chapter to your life is a common theme. UWF used that theme this year. My home school(univeristy of Northern CO ) used this theme two years ago.
I hope recruitment goes well for you. |
First Night
Well, tonight was the offical start of Recruitment. I have been stressed all weekend long. The Potential New Members are so adoreable. I love the all, but I'm trying not to get attached to them. Tonight, we had the tables set-up for each sorority we representatives behind them. Then we had 5 women from each chapter there to mingle with the women and to help us out. We made Get Well cards for a local Children's Hospital. They came out really cute. After that the women broke up into there Recruitment Counselor Groups (Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta). I hope the rest of the week. goes as well as tonight did.
|
Just to clear things up! I am in charge of Recruitment for Panhellenic. I'm already in a sorority.
|
FAURecruitment...
Don't tell where you belong until it's all over! Best of luck to everyone involved......looks like a good bunch! Iris |
what's the results?
Okay, you know we're all dying of curiousity, how was recruitment at FAU this year?
Also, now that recruitment is over will you reveal what sorority you are with? I hope all the sororities did well but of course I'm hoping Phi Sigma Sigma did especially well. Carolyn |
sorry about the delay
i'm going to be posting about the whole week over the next couple of days. My computer has been broken and I just got it fixed today. Woohoo! Anyways, this week started off with Orientation Night! We had about 108 women go through Recruitment this year, which was very low for our school. (It just seemed like no one wanted to go through Recruitment this year!) Tuesday was the first night of Recruitment, Open House Night. All of the Potential New Members got to visit all of the sororities. The sororities rooms were awesome. The first event was started late due to potential new members missing their nametags and having to make new ones for them. Other than that the night was a success.
|
Best of luck to you!!
XOXO, Annie. |
Wednesday Night
Wednesday Night was a blast our theme was Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. All of the Recruitment Counselors' outfits were so creative. I was Sneezy. The Potential New Members went to all of the sororities this night. They had a blast and several of them couldn't decide which ones they wanted to go back to tomorrow night, which is the first night that the potential new members have to narrow their events down from 4 to 3 to go back too. We also had a candlelighting ceremony for Sept. 11th which was beautiful besides for the rain. The hardest thing about this week is not trying to say what sorority I am in. Can you guess which one I am in? A lot of the Potential New Members believe that I am either a D Phi E or and Alpha Xi. You will just have to wait to find out.

Good luck, sounds like rush is going so well at FAU! The Snow White theme was such a fun choice!

Thursday and Friday
Thursday morning the potential new members came by to pick up their frist set of invitations. The hardest part of my position is that I have to let those women who do not get an invite back know. I feel so bad but someone has to do it right. Anyways, Thursday night was Skit Night and the Recruitment Counselors were dressed up as little girls. On Friday the women picked up their invitations for Preference in the morning. They were allowed to go back to two sororities, which was hard for them to choose. We have several awesome organizations on our campus and I know when I went through I had a hard time as well. Well, the night started off fine until a sorority member came running into Headquarters (that's where myself, the panhellenic president, and advisor are located) crying. One of their chapter members was having a accute asthma attack and the paramedics were on their way. We all ran as fast as we could to their room. I remained in the room with her while the paramedics worked on her and while they called her parents and calmed the chapter members down. Due to the incident the events started late, since the chapter didn't have time to finish setting up. At this time all of the another chapter pulled together and helped this chapter in their time of need. I call that great unity amongst these organizations. Anyways, the woman that had the attack is fine, she got out of the hospital that night.
As for where I belong, the potential new members believed that I am either a Alpha Xi, D Phi E, or a Phi Sig now. You will see where I belong in a little while. Any guesses from you? |
Oh, I hope that sister who suffered the asthma attack is better. Asthma is such a scary, terrible disease.
I'm so glad to hear you all pulled together to handle the situation, that's wonderful. As for your affiliation, I have my ideas, but I won't say. :) violets |

hmmm what could you be? I think that you are a D Phi E. I have a 25% chance of being right. :p :)
|
I have no idea which sorority you're a member of, so I'll just guess Alpha Xi Delta :)

FAU
Asthma is a scary thing. It is great that everyone pulled together like that. You should all be very proud.
So what was quota and how many groups made it? I am the Director of Expansion for DPhiE and made the presentation on your campus last year so I am rooting for my girls! Denise_DPhiE :D :D :D |
Bid Day
This year quota was set at 21. Only one chapter reached quota and even had quota additions and that chapter was D Phi E. They did a fabulous job this year, especially with just receiving their charter. Congratulations to those women, they've truely earned it!
I never thought that being disaffiliated from my sorority would have been that hard until I was in the Bid Card Pick-up room. The Potential New Members came in one-by-one and openned up their bid card in front of myself and the Panhellenic President. When the women received a invitation to join from my organization I wanted to so badly jump over the table and give them a hug, but I couldn't. Once all of the women picked up their invitations, all of the Recruitment Counselors went to the room were all the sororities were for the picnic and revealing. All of us gave one final hug goodbye before we went to reunite with our sorority. Tears started to fill my eyes when I saw my sorority. I couldn't wait to be back in their arms. Once all the sororities gathered around the front of the room, we began the revealing. We recited cheers from all of the sororities and each sororities Recruitment Counselors ran to their sorority. After my cheer I ran back to................................................ ...................................... .......................... .......................... ............................. Alpha Xi Delta!!!!!! Then our advisor got on the microphone and said "That doesn't seem right! I don't think their in that sorority!!!" We all then ran to the bathroom to change into our letter shirts (we were wearing our Recruitment Counselor Bid Day shirts) and to put a sweater on over it. Then we ran back into the room and one-by-one we revealed our organization. At this time I was crying and couldn't even remember who I ran back too. Can you guess where I really belong? There were 2 Recruitment Counselors from Alpha Xi Delta, 1 from Delta Phi Epsilon, 2 from Phi Sigma Sigma, and 4 from Theta Phi Alpha. I'll be back in a few to tell you were I really belong!!! |

The suspense is killing me. I thought you are D Phi E last night. Now you trick me with AZD. When will the madness end??!! ;) :p |
I say Phi Sig. I think there was a girl on here that use to post who was a Phi Sig from FAU.
|
CONGRATULATIONS TO FAU!!!!
What an amazing recruitment you all had!! Pat yourselves on the back please! As for your affiliation...I have a strong feeling about Phi Sig as well. But you never know! violets |
What am I?
Okay, I know that the suspense is killing all of you! I am a proud member of..........................................
.................................................. ..... .............. THETA PHI ALPHA!!!!!!! |
I was wrong. :( How unusual! ;) :p
Congratulations are your incredibly successful recruitment!!! :) :D  |
Theta Phi Alpha! Wow, I also cannot believe I was wrong.:p
What is Theta Phi Alpha's nickname? It can't be Theta, because that's KAT's famous nick. What is yours?:) |
Well, I guessed wrong, but what a great story! Sounds like DPhiE rocked in recruitment--congrats to them! I hope everyone else did well and all PNMs who wanted to join a sorority at FAU were extended bids (hint hint! Once you start one of these we always want more details :))
You're so right about crying when you see your sisters again! As a former PH Rush Chair, there's no question that it's just torture to finally see your sisters and know you're almost back with them, but can't say anything quite yet. I started crying from the moment I first saw them and collapsed in a crowd of my sisters and just sobbed with joy to be back. You almost don't believe how happy you are to be wearing your letters again until you experience it. Congrats on a job well done! Thanks for sharing. Fraternally, Christin |
...Surprise, surprise!!!!! Thanks to FAURecruitment for starting such a great thread! I'm sure many of us were checking back quite often (I know I was!). I'm impressed with your energy, motivation and enthusiasm. TPA is so very lucky to have you!!!!
I have to say "congrats" to the DPhiE women!!!! What a fabulous couple of weeks for all of you! Chartering at the end of August and now quota!!!! Ladies---you are AWESOME! I am so very happy to have such a great bunch of new sisters! Iris |
Congrats to all the chapters @ FAU!!! And to DPhiE for making quota!!! |
Congrats to all the womem at FAU, but epesically the DPhiEs :). Only 2 weeks with a charter and the only chapter to make quota, you gals rock!! :)
|
Haahaaha.. I was tricked!! I personally thought for sure that you were a Phi Sig, because I also remember that there was one posting from FAU :)
So, Im dying to know, how y'all did!! :D On a side note, most commonly we are called Theta Phi's although I've known of a couple of people slipping in the past and calling us Theta's, but thats only here at Pitt, where we don't have a Kappa Alpha Theta. The name we prefer here is "Theta Phi" :) |
I think FAU's D Phi Es should bottle up all of their hard work and good luck and send it around :) AWESOME JOB GAMMA BETA!!! We're so proud to call you sisters!!! :)
