who pledged at an HBCU?

If you pledged, Im curious to where and what yr.
I pledged at Tennessee State University and i must say it has been the best undergraduate experience. If i had pledged at an non hbcu I dont think I would have had as much fun.

Would anyone beg to differ?

Rep your school/org. and yr.

Speak On It

To answer your question: I went over at a predominantly white university, but what is to stop you from kicking it hella hard at the closest HBCU. Then there are the road trips! If you on point like when you pledged you can accomplish alot.

As far as the HBCU alum is concerned, how are you guys looking at the U. of Michigan case that will be coming up? Everyone is concerned that the schools with problems will have to close and that the others won't be able to take all of the black/poorer students that would have problems getting into state schools and such should affirmative action be reversed due to U. Mich. losing the supreme court case.

I am enjoying the undergraduate experience! I have the best of both worlds, seeing that there are at least 7 chapters in driving distance. I this distance, some are HBCU's and some are mostly white dominated campuses. If I had a choice, I still would've pledged at an HBCU.
Much luv to AL, EPsi, ZE, GM, GN, and the SouthEastern Province!

I didn't and wouldn't change

Well I pledged at an all white school (Indiana University) and the NuPEs have been running this yard since 1911, pledging at an HBCU is all well and good but how do you get to know your line brothers/sisters when it is 95 of yall?

tsk tsk tsk you don't know too much honey.

Cain 06-21-2005 02:00 PM

True

But again, it all depends on where you are. I think that both black and white institutions offer unique experiences! It's kool to talk about the differences between the two, and then celebrate the BOND. As for myself, I wouldn't know about having 95 L.B's, I was a lone wolf!

I don't feel like I am missing my greek experience because I am at a PWI if anything I beleive that I am open to more opportunities because of the impression that my fraternity has left on the face of this campus.

What are you talking about? What are you really saying? Noone asked you to defend your PWI experience. That is not what this thread is about.

You have irritated me.

One more thing, why not go make a who pledged at a PWI, instead of coming in here talking about what you THINK you know.

Why are you concerned about how anyone, other than Kappa, does it at their school?

Do you feel like you've missed out on something?

Congrats on being apart of Made Man, are they still on Master P's No Limit Label.

2nd, you type like you are young and don't know much....so instead of speaking and sounding dumb, you should sit back and observe for awhile until you get the hang of it buddy.

3rd, my best friends are Nupes and they value my opinion.

First off, just because I'm not a 27 year old under-grad like yourself is beside the point. The girl that started this thread said she thinks if she pledged at a white school she doesn't think she would have had as much fun, I was responing to HER comment, how you got into the mix I don't know? I was just giving her my point of veiw.

Secondly, you are telling me your so called best friends are NUPEs because...
oh I know you probally wanted to get down too.

Thirdly, thanks for the congrats on becoming a MADE MAN because "Many are called, but few are Chosen." SKATER

If you are gonna talk about your experience do that.

Don't cast aspersions on others of which you have no intimate knowledge.

Based on your comments, the value of your PWI experience is based solely on what you didn't get and that you ASSume all HBCU's have.

Was there something that we missed in you describing your PWI experience?

The Truth 06-23-2005 11:13 AM

Exactly!

*thinkin* Thank God for that whole organization. Don't know what I'd do if they weren't around. ;)
