So... how did you find out about GC?

I found GC in May 2000. I signed up, posted a note, but never returned. John actually emailed me & I don't think I ever wrote him back... (it was a weird time in my life).

Fast forward 2 years later & I find my old password. So I logged in & was like, "WHOA! This place has grown!"

So I proceeded to tell my network of KD sisters...and one PNM.

I searched the Internet (through a search engine!), and found this wonderful place.

I was looking on a negative fraternity website and after clicking on a few links I found GC

Around the time of Rush this past school year I started to do some research online on ways to increase my chances of getting into a sorority. I was looking for information on Rush and what to expect and I found a post on here while searching on google. This was exactly what I was looking for and I haven't left since! :D

I was surfing the net, looking for sites that could be considered teen interest. I was collecting them for work. I think this was a link to a link in a newspaper article of some sort.

There is nothing on the Internet that cannot be found by a well-placed Google search.

I was looking to "chat" with other "greeks" so I did a search on "greek" and "chat" and what-d-ya-know, up popped GREEKCHAT.COM :D

I was looking online for clothing that could be ordered with Greek letters on it for my friend. I went to some websites, like Everything Rush, I then followed a link for Greekchat, and that was two years ago. I finally subscribed this year since I am going through rush. Actually, Greekchat is what made me consider going through rush, I knew NOTHING about the Greek community before then.

I was doing an internet search to see if i could get the lyrics to some of Sigma Nu's songs. (i'm too lazy to order em from nationals)

Did a search for Sigma Nu and Songs and this is what turned up.

Gosh...December 2000...can I remember that far back?

I think I came across GreekChat through a very productive search on Fraternities and Sororities on Google.

I remember logging on to GC for the first time and I found only a handful of AGD sisters as registered members [Lisa Fishman was one of the first AGDs I met here!]. It's amazing to see how many Alpha Gams here on the boards now!!!

Off topic...but remember last summer when the boards were down for hours...days, even? John was transferring everything from the old server to this new one...I thought we were all going to die of GC withdrawal!

I'm one of KDonline's recruits! Annie created a Yahoo group for Kappa Deltas which is very active, and i've been a part of that for quite awhile. She mentioned greekchat one day, so I came on over and have been a member since. Very recently we've brought a lot more KD's over to the GC world!

There is actually a link off of our national place to GC. I clicked and joined. Simple as that :) I also shared what a great resource GC has been for me with the rest of my e-board officers and hopefully some of them will start to post also :)

I saw it mentioned on another Alpha Gam message board and I decided to look at it. :)

I was around when GC was GreekSource. Then when GS went down and GC took its place, I just lurked around for a bit before signing up.

I tripped over GC while surfing the net one day... I think I was looking for websites of other AEPhi chapters besides my own, and in the course of my search, I found greekchat.com - "hmm, wonder what that is..." *click* and here I am :) I lurked for maybe a month before registering.

I was beginning to put together my chapters web site, and checking out sorority web sites from another school (don't know which one though) and there was a link to GC. I thought, "wonder what this is," and the rest is history.

I don't remember - isn't that terrible?

I do, however, remember the Greek Source days...perhaps I just one day arbitrarily typed that into my browser, and stumbled upon GC? I really don't know...

I actually found out about GC from one of my now sisters**ZetaLuvBunny** She and I were both thinking about rushing at MTSU and she gave me a link to the site in an email she wrote me :) IM so glad she did too :) * I love you Jess!*

Started posting there in December of 97. Was like a message board for fraternitysecrects.com or something, total anarchy. TOTAL. So I ditched it, not before I signed up for "auto notify of changes" feature. The began to get stalked by GC about 3 emails a day. Finally after I blocked GC, heheh, I decided to check it out in May of 2000. Registerd in June of 2000. The rest is history. Kinda scary i have been involved with gs/gc in one way or another off and on for 5 years. Geez.

I will say this, its a hella nicer than it was, GC's look, peeps, conversations. When shit gets heated here, the sororitylife thread, homosexuality, etc, is TAME how it used to be. Fred, peeops threatning, peeps exposing of alleged rituals, etc. I will admit tho, Fred was fun to debate with. I've never felt so intelectually superior. lol

lifesaver darling, 'threatening' was an understatement. I believe the proper term was "baptized by fire".

I remember being a newbie here for only a month before the psychos came after me. :eek:
