KD Tattoos?
I was checking out some other sorority forums, so I thought I'd steal this thread. :)
Do any of you have KD related tattoos? I'd like to get something that represents KD (*NOT* the letters!), but I'm not sure what. Maybe you girls can give me some ideas..... |
tattoos
You mean you didn't get tattooed during initiation - YOU KNOW WHERE?!?!?!
Geez, you new sisters have it so easy! ;) JUST KIDDING!!!! We were NOT tattooed! |
one of my sisters has a dagger on the small of her back
several have white roses another has a shamrock. |
I've got a white rose. I'm thinking of adding a dagger when I get my next tattoo.
|
woohoo! another KD! Welcome to Greekchat Mrsmstg!
i guess all the talking on the yahoo group has really gotten people over here! :D |
Welcome Mrsmtg! :) It's nice to see another West by Gawd Virginian KD on the board!
Back to what we were saying though....does anyone have a katydid tattooed on them? Call me crazy, but I thought a wee little one on the outside of my foot would be cute! |
A katydid would probably be very cute. If I don't get a dagger this year, I'm going to wait and get a teddy bear whenever I have my first child. I'll put the baby's name on a ribbon on the bear and then I've got both of my families represented!

On a side note - there was a live katydid on our porch last night. Oooh, they're creepy looking! The only reason I didn't bring out the bug spray was because of KD! But normally I'd gas the sucker!!! http://216.40.241.68/contrib/blackeye/evil_laughter.gif |
Ok. I see the problem. Maybe I could have the bear holding a balloon with the child's name and add balloons as I add children? I'm open to other suggestions cause since my husband doesn't like tattoos, he's no help.
|
A katydid woud be very cute for a tatoo. If and when I ever get one, it would probably be a heart with a dagger in it with a white rose wrapped around it. I'd love to incorporate the 2nd degree pin...but I know that's a no no.

Just get a fake one - it'll last the whole 5 days of Convention! |
I've got a rose vine around my ankle, and might add a dagger to it someday.
BTW it was EXTREMELY painful, but definitely worth it! It healed quickly, but she told me not to shave for a month, so my roses had quite the thorns growing on them!! LJ |

Uh...you mean you didn't get that special initiation one? http://www.uniquehardware.co.uk/serv...k/smily012.gif (didn't we cover this in our yahoogroup?) AOT! |
I've always wanted to get one, but could never decide on what. I never asked anyone, but always assumed the crest, pins, etc were off limits. (Am I right?) Made sense to me. I never thought about the dagger or katydid. The one I like the best is a shamrock. Plus I'm Irish, so it makes sense. :) And I went to a school where St. Pat's was a HUGE deal! (Rolla, in case you've ever heard of the celebration).
Anyhow, I guess this is a question.. Is there any way we can incorporate the letters? Or is that strictly forbidden? I've thought about having the letters & my pin # incorporated into a small design.. So if you didn't know they were there, you might not even see them. My ex-boyfriend had an absolutely amazing one done on his ankle. It was an older drawing that was in one of their books, and is associated with the Fraternity, but isn't a no-no for something like that. I'd still like to get a small one, but would wanna be 100% sure on the drawing beforehand. Have pics drawn up & stuff. Does anyone here have a tattoo they regret getting? |
ouch oooweee ouch!! A tattoo!?!??!

Plus, the fact that I don't like pain! Plus, the fact that I couldn't imagine myself as an old grandmother, sporting a tattoo!! http://www.gamers-forums.com/smilies...y/smilies8.gif You guys are nutty!!!! But I still love ya! http://216.40.241.68/contrib/tweetz/hug.gif |

I've never once regretted my tattoo in the four years I've had mine. LJ :) |
After looking over the revised COHB, "it is considered to be in poor taste (and is an improper use of registered marks) to have the Kappa Delta crest, badge, the words "Kappa Delta," or the greek letters "KD" tattooed on the body."
I personally do not have any KD related or other tattoos. I don't plan on getting one either. They are great ways to express one's individuality, but they are just not for me. (But if I ever were to get one, it would definitely be KD related.) |
I have a dagger with a white rose around it on my belly. To others it is just something cute but to me it means so much more!
