my UF story
Well everyone, I've decided to post my story here. Just a few more days left till UF rush! Can you imagine I get to meet my RoChi (insert politically correct name here) on Sunday? It's already Thursday! YEAH! I'm trying to go into this with an open mind... fortunately I'm not stuck on following my mother's footsteps at UF! I know all the houses at UF are great and are nationals... I'd be glad to be chosen for any of them! Well, it's only 4 days (including today) till sunday and then parties start bright and early Monday AM!

GOOD LUCK! UF seems to have an incredible Greek system with a lot of awesome houses!
Of course I have to put in a good word for KD... but i'm sure you'll find the perfect house for you! I can't wait to read all the details!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE RUSH THREADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D |
Just out of curiosity what are your mother's footsteps?
|
YAY! I love rushthreads too!
Goodluck hopeful! UF has a great system and lots of wonderful houses! -Maggie |
Good luck!
hopefulgreek,
Can't wait to hear about your Recruitment experience at UF. It is an amazing Greek system so I'm sure you're going to meet tons of interesting, motivated Greek women. Remember, an open mind and comfortable shoes will be your best friends during Rush. Go Greek! |
Good Luck with rush! I hope you have a great time meeting all the wonderful houses at UF. It's great to hear that you are going in with an open mind. I'm sure you will end up at a place you will really love to call home:)
AOT BABY!!! |
Good Luck! Have fun and meet tons of people!
|
for the record
Hey UF56- My mother was a Chi O at UF wayyyy wayyy long ago (ok, she's not that old but still). I don't feel any pressure from her to be a Chi O at all. My aunt was a Chi O also at UNC-Chapel Hill. However, I met a current active at work in June and we get along sooo WELL! That's where I got sold a lil Chi O action, but also got the love of greek life.

all the best...
keep your shoes comfy, your heart open and your eyes on the prize.
have a ball. |
woah!
ACK! It's almost Sunday - WHOOPS! I'm worried and I havent met my RoChi yet.... It's just nerves, even though I did spend my summer at UF still new dorm and such... EK! I have my meeting at 4 pm and then the real problems start!
*mk* ps- i know i know comfy shoes, and I'm trying to work with the advice but GIRLS- I love shoes, and a good looking pair is hardly ever comfortable! |
From one shoe addict to another...
Hopeful, I know just how you feel. I loooovvve shoes but out of all the pairs of shoes I plan to wear through rush, I think only one pair is actually really comfortable! I know I'll be cursing myself at the end of the night, but oh well, you only get this experience once right? (I do intend on slipping a band-aid or two in my purse though!)
|
hopefulgreek,
Yeah, I tend to harp on the comfy shoe thing. (Possibly because I'm a bit of a shoe fiend.) Maybe comfortable is a bit of a stretch...at least break 'em in a little. I just remember by the end of Rush having to go into Preference parties with my feet all wrapped up like little mummies (from all the blisters) and then stuffed into my black formal pumps, not a good look. Thank goodness all the rooms were dark. Anyway, more important than comfortable shoes is an open attitude and a true excitement about gaining a sisterhood. You definitely exhibit both of these qualities so I'm sure you're going to do great. Good luck. Let us in on all the developments. |
Your mom and Aunt are Chi O's??? Pressure??? Don't you dare feel it! You pick that home, that sisterhood where you feel like you belong! You have got to be happy and you will feel it- trust me!
Would I love for you to choose Chi Omega = of course yes! But you have to find it for yourself. Let me tell you - there are sooo many excellent sisterhoods out there- you can not go wrong! We are rootin for ya! Good Luck! Sue |
I wish you all the best during your recruitment experience :) I know you're nervous about meeting your rho chi tomorrow and about everything else, but just relax and have fun... recruitment is definitely stressful at times (I've been through twice as a rushee, lol).. but just relax and remember to enjoy yourself and the houses you visit :)

Hopeful Greek, good luck with rush!! UF has a great Greek system. I just wrote a letter of rec for one of my friends here in Orlando. I can't wait to see how things end up for everyone!
