Remember Atari?
What was your favorite Atari Game(s)?
Mine were Riddle of the Sphinx and Superman :D |
Mine was Pitfall. That game scared me though....trying to run fast enough that you could out wit the dissappearing/reappearting tar pits LMAO!
And the dang snake at the bottom if you fell in. SCARY! Hootie |
I still have my Atari! My favorite games were Frogs and Flies and Demon Attack.
www.atariage.com has a list of all the games and screenshots from a bunch of them. |
Pong and Tank was my fave. THough nothing beat old school Nintendo with the Robot.
|
Pitfall, Kaboom, and Frogger!

Pitfall was great. DigDug. Also, there was this totally weird game called "Circus Circus" anyone remember that one?

I still have my Atari. I only had a few games, but I always love the classic Pac-Man! :)

REMEMBER ATARI?
Heck, I remember going to the clubs and playing PONG and PAC MAN!:( It was a lot of fun, but NOTHING like fooseball! What was the name of the game where you pushed the puck and tried to knock other pucks off! We'd yell "OH--PUCK OFF!":D |
Ms. PacMan, Kaboom, Pitfall
I was able to get a couple of games for Playstation that have the old arcade games and the old Atari games on them.......I now have the original Pitfall, PONG, Kaboom, Barnstorming, etc..........it rocks. I really love Galaga though. |
Q*Bert, River Raid, Tank, Missile Command, Chess... It's a huge list.
I saw an Atari game pack at the mall the other day and grabbed it for my father. He spends hours upon hours now glued to the computer playing Missile Command (it was his favorite passtime when the game was in its prime). |
It depends; I assume your referring to the most common system of Atari, the 2600 model. Of course you could be referring to other Atari home console systems such as the Atari 5200 SuperSystem, Atari 7800 ProSystem or Atari Jaguar 64. Am I nerd for knowing all of that? I’m pretty sure I am but either way my favorite game for the Atari 2600 was Combat followed closely by Missile Command.

Random post about Atari
I saw a guy at the club tonight in an orange Atari t-shirt.
Silly thing is my friend hooked up with him after making fun of his shirt! Ha! Of course we have nothing against Atari, it was just pretty random to run into a guy in an orange Atari t-shirt when everyone else is dressed pretty nicely. |
I still play with my Atari that I've had since, oh, about 1983! Sad thing is, those games are the only ones I'm good at--all the modern Nintendo stuff is too hard for me! :D
|
I only remember Pitfall.
I'm the opposite Achtung, those older game systems are harder to operate than the new ones. |
Frogger, Pong, Ms. Pac-Man.
When I was in college (in like 1997), my friend's mom GAVE ME their old Atari 2600 and about 2 dozen games! Conviently, some of the boys that lived below me in the dorm ALSO had an Atari so we could trade! Did you ever play that E.T. game? I've questioned several friends, and NO ONE could figure out what the heck they were suppossed to do! E.T. would just walk around with his head bobbing and then fall in a hole. Then a spaceship came down to get him or something? And that was all you could do?! If you managed to get anything else to happen on that game, please let me know. It's one of the greates mysteries from my childhood. ;) |
E.T. is a very short game that actually sold more then a million copies. It was rushed into production during E.T.’s aggressive marketing campaign. The basic premise of the game is to wander around “the woods” and collect pieces of the phone. Once all the pieces are collected you can phone home and get picked up by the mother ship.

I could kick ass on that game. Always scored about 15,000 to 20,000 on it. When I got that high tho, it went too fast and I always died. I had a 2600 and about 60 games. in 1995 when my mon moved to Houston, she cleaned house and threw it away. I still havent forgiven her for that. She does that shit all the time. Bitch threw away my goddamn Tigger from winnie-the-pooh that i carried everywhere with me when I was 4, because i was too old for such frivolities. I heard that somwehere, they have digitized all the games and you can download them off the internet and play them on your PC. Shit what I wouldnt give for some Megamania, Space Invaders, or Freeway right now. |
I loved Pac Man and that asteroid game... can't remember the name of it... I think we still have one at my parents house.... we had one in my sorority chapter room too... but it was upgraded with someone's brother's nintendo... =)
