Unless you are actually rushing or making a thread for a friend, a rec girl/boy or relative who is rushing, saying you are gonna rush and PMing me or posting the results, your name ain't gonna go on the list.
If after bid day, I happen to find that there is a new member in a forum, I will add them to the list--no biggie. If you come onto this thread and say you got a bid somewhere, I will put you down, it's all good

I have two for Oklahoma State so far!

My goddaughter, the daughter of my Chi O big sis, is going to UC Davis this fall. We already have alumnae to write Recs for every chapter!

Hey ChioLu - my bff was a Chi O at Davis! The Greek system there is smaller, but still active and fun. Back in the day, it wasn't terribly competitive, but that might have changed. I know several chapters left, and there have been some new colonizations. Good luck to your goddaughter!

So far no recs for me this year. I usually only do one or two. I'll report back if that changes.

My niece is rushing at LSU.

my niece will be rushing at University of Louisiana and a few of her friends will be at LSU.

I have one for Arkansas, one for Auburn and one for Ole Miss so far.

I've written 5. FSU, UF, Texas, College of Charleston, and Purdue.

A daughter at Arkansas for me!

I have written multiples for each of these Kansas, Arkansas, Texas, Texas A&M, Auburn and Nebraska.

I am writing one for the University of South Carolina.

I now have three: two at OK State and one at Georgia.

Just wrote one last week for USC (SoCAL) and have one more to write for Iowa State if she ever gives me her info...

Thinking I will most likely be done after that.

I've got 25 for Alabama!!!! And one from Auburn that just floated in from outer space....love when you get a packet - a very nice one at that - and the person doesn't tell you how she got your name and address and the friend who gave it to her forgot to give you a heads up! I wondered if I had finally gone round the bend!

I think a 25-person recruitment story would blow dgdramadawg's jumbo stories out of the water! Obviously not expecting them all to give you round-by-round updates...but they should :P

Writing my first rec for a girl who's rushing at University of South Carolina, though I don't personally know her.

What's the opinion on writing recs for girls you don't personally know? I know it would be preferred if we did, but at so many campuses the recs are a requirement and I can't see how it's feasible that every girl rushing at those campuses personally knows a member from every NPC group.

I got another one today from a girl who just now decided to rush at Texas. She has impressive grades, test scores and is a great girl. I've lived next door to her for 17 years. She was adamant that she was not going to rush, but went to a Go Greek meeting at orientation and now is behind the 8 ball.

Got 2 more for Ole Miss. Since recruitment isn't until October I'm sure it will continue to go up. I did 19 last year.

I think my son is going to rush, but he's being pretty chill about it.

Newbie here, so I'm not sure how this works. I wrote one rec for a classmate of my daughter's who is headed to South Carolina. I don't personally know her, but my daughter, who will go through recruitment at Appalachian, said she'd be happy to have her as a sorority sister.
I think I'm more excited about recruitment than my daughter, but I'm enjoying the memories. Her closest friend from high school is going through at Alabama. I think recruitment at Bama and recruitment at Appalachian will be polar opposites, but I'm looking forward to hearing about both.

I'm feeling so left out! I don't have any this year.

I've got one for Oklahoma State University and three for the University of Alabama. I'm unsure about the one since the one young lady has yet to get back to me about some of the information needed. If she doesn't get back to me soon, then I'll only be sending in 2 Alabama recommendations.

*Side note: Ladies, please respond to the Alumnae who you are asking to write you recommendations. Also, please include a salutation when you ask for recommendations. It is rude to just attach some documents and not give any explanation. It is important to address the Alumnae properly, as well.

Fraternity rush is wholly different than sorority rush. The rules and expectations are completely different from fraternity to fraternity and from campus to campus. My guess is nobody is going to tell you grades don't matter, even if there are chapters where that is true.

Xister, I only have one this year--Georgia Tech. I met a mom of a daughter going through rush at Auburn and offered to write a rec and gave my info, but never heard from her. Her daughter is a Sigma Kappa there and the mom had been a Pi Phi, but apparently this daughter is determined not to join either one. lol

My cousin is going through at USC (California).
Glad that I was able to help her with ideas and sources to look for Recs and she's secured a Rec for each house. She's looking forward to recruitment!

My daughter is Rushing this Fall
 

She will be going through as a sophomore transfer to a Pac 12 school. She has recs for 7 of the houses, I think there are 10. She is very excited and going in with 100% open mind. She told me she is looking to find sisters, not be popular. :)
