I am rushing this semester. It offically starts next week but tonight is Meet the Greeks. It starts in about twenty minutes. I'm sure I'll be early. I hate waiting but I'm always way early.

Ok here's an update. Last night was a mixer, my bad. It was just a bunch of the brothers hanging out with some sorority sisters at a nightclub/bar type place. It went great, I got to hang out with them and shoot the breeze and stuff. They are having number one of their two weekly parties tonight so I will be going to that.

Tonight is the big night. The first formal rush of my number one choice fraternity.

Thanks. It was kind of nerve racking but it still felt kind of relaxing, seeing people I already knew. You know, because you went through it, but it was still something I've never felt.

ok--update time:

We had our second rush tonight, which was also "formal" (i.e. shirt and tie). I also found out that I have bronchitis http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif but I'm feeling better than I was http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif. Any way they asked us some questions one on one. Most people said they asked a lot b.s. questions but they only asked a few, mostly about why I wanted to be in a fraternity, and Phi Kap in particular. Don't know if that is good or bad. It seemed like I was in there the shortest time out of anyone though.
The next rush is sunday, and is casual dress. Bids go out on Tuesday. I'll let everyone know.

Did you only go to this chapter for rush? I hate hearing about suicide rushees. Its one reason why a lot of Greek systems around the country are forcing fraternities to do formal rush. You really should get to know several chapters to find your best fit. Anyways, best of luck with getting a bid today.

MSB, Yeah I only went to chapter for rush. I don't know of anyone who went to more than one. I did get to know some of the other chapters last semester though.

This really sucks...I'm so sorry Billy. This process just doesn't seem fair sometimes. People who would give their hearts don't get a bid, and those who just want to be a t-shirt wearers seem to have no problems getting in...

Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia near VMI. Its a good school. You should check their website out.
