Grambling State will open the season ranked in the top 10 of the Sports Network I-AA poll.

Last season, the Tigers finished with a number 8 ranking after winning the Southwestern Athletic Conference championship.

Jackson State and Southern received votes in the poll released August 12th.

Be sure to watch out for Sigma Gamma Rho at the Bayou Classic. There will be a significant showing at the press conference, activities with the National Conference of Black Mayors and a booth to promote the wearing of seatbelts. All Sigmas are invited to be in the house on Saturday, November 29, 2003 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
