Wasn't Boule great!!!!!

Sorors...I have never enjoyed a vacation so much!! Tell me the highlights of your trip...

Mine are:
The fact that the hotel had so much blue and gold in it:)
Sitting and talking with Tank
Partying with the Iotas (they were so much fun!)
Seeing sorors get extra live at the concert on Monday
Seeing all of the lovely blue and gold outfits
Having 700+ sorors in Miami, running into them on the street and EE-YIPing to them

There's a lot more, but I'll let you all respond first.
If anyone was in the last business meeting, I was the soror who got up to ask about undergrad tickets to the Banquet :)

P.S. Loved the new "Addictive" stroll we all were doing...and got so tired doing "Bows" :)

i thoroughly enjoyed boule, bayside, south beach, and all of miami!!!!!

SeriousSigma22 07-26-2002 06:06 PM

Sorhors,

I'm just a little jeolous that you all were able to attend the boule and have such a wonderful time! Thanks for telling (sharing) a sorhor about all of the wonderful things she missed! I'm so glad that boule is going so well!

Serioussigma22:cool:

Godwilling, I will just have to make sure that I attend in 2004!

NOT a Member but attended ONE GREAT event!!

Hello Lovely Ladies of Sigma Gamma Rho,
I was able to attend the talent show/step show on Saturday, along with a friend of mine who is a member of this illustrious organization. I just had to share all the positive things I saw as an outsider....

1) Love and Respect among all of the ladies.
2) The Iotas are such awesome guys...
3) The wonderful talents.
4) Last but not least, the huge diversity among the ladies, and how it united quite well!!

sprinklemeluv 07-27-2002 10:56 AM

Welcome Back SoRHOrs!!

I pray everyone returned safely. You all were missed here on GC, I heard crickets chirping in my speakers it was so quiet:) OK, who met whom? Did the GC'ers meet up somewhere?

SeriousSigma22 07-27-2002 03:35 PM

Sorhor Sprinklemelluv,

Girl, I'm with you on that one! I really want to know if the GCers got to meet and greet! And it really has been kind of silent on GC we missed you ladies. Anyway, Ninjapoodle I expect a play-by-play run down of all the events that I missed!:D

HAD A BALL!!!!

Boule was so great......

I met so many lovely sorhors from all over the country....

The highlights for me are

1. Chillin on South Beach with about 15 other sorhors, and walking up and down the strip doing strolls while people look on cheering for us.

2. Going to Klub Krave and getting on the stage and trippin.

3. That SgRho had Klub Krave on lock. (everyone in the club that night seemed to be a sorhor)

4. Meeting so many lovely gentlemen of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Incorporated. (I never knew the Iota's were so Fine;)

5. Learning so many different strolls from all the sorhors that were there. (I'm a neo so you know I had to get my stroll on!)

By The Way Laylah you were suppose to teach us some strolls what happened to you???????

I had so much fun in Miami, I didn't even want to come back.

I love my sorhors!!!!!!!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-YIPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

arRHOgance4 07-29-2002 04:01 PM

Sorry Soror Babydoll! We went to a comedy show on Tuesday and it ran late, but yall should have come to my room. I was there all Wednesday night! Anyways, maybe when I get a videocamera I can tape some strolls for ya! I had sooo much fun with everyone. (Yes SGRho had the club on lock). And how bout Soror Emma gettin crunk and 'shakin it down' at the concert! No, I don't think there was a GC meet up, but if everyone identifies themselves, maybe we can figure out who was who.

I was wearing a all gold pants outfit at the stepshow. Well I gotta go practice for our stepshow...

I'm Back!

Here I am! After the Boule was over, I went to Ft. Lauderdale to visit an old girlfriend until saturday.

My memories include:

1. Walking into the vendors area and being BLOWN AWAY by seeing so much SGRho gear! Yes, I did buy more stuff than I need but it was so cute. I just HAD to have the the cell phone cover and the little straw bag with our shield.

2. Being offered a ride to a party by some men of IOTA. ;)

3. The Ecuminical Service. What an INCREDIBLE sight to see all of our sorors in white!

4. Almost having my foot run over by our 96 year old Soror at the "Tank" concert:D Was she tearing it up or what??

5. SLEEP! After every business meeting or luncheon, I went to bed! I'm still tired!

6. Watching my sorors stroll after the step show. I will give props to Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc 'cause their presentation was OFF THE HOOK!

7. Meeting Soror Bluereign. What a wonderful person you are!!! :)

8. Speaking with Sister-Soror Congresswoman Maxine Waters after everyone else had left and taken pictures. She's from my state (California) and we chatted a little about the issues. This lady has got it going on. (And her husband is kinda cute too!:))

9. One of my fondest memories is that of sorors asking me to send them copies of the the pictures that I took of them. They thought I was the "professional photographer" hired by the sorority for Boule. I was the one with the camera around my neck taking pictures at EVERYTHING!

10. Thinking that I would be the only soror wearing a Chinese style dress for the closing banquet, I was suprised to see 4 other dresses! The first was worn by a soror. It was rhoyal blue. The second was worn by a Rhoer. Hers was pink, :p and the last two were worn by sorors also. One was black and the other was rhoyal blue. Mine was white.

11. I have more but I'm falling asleep at the computer so I'll add them later:)

bluethunder 07-30-2002 11:51 AM

BOULE 2002 was the BOMB most definitely!!!!!!!
before i go any further, i want to send all my RHOyal blue and gold love to all the talented and dynamic women who competed in the talent competition:from public speaking to italian opera to sculpture to prose, we are talented bunch of women and i was impressed and i competed!
now, my memories of boule will be:
1: all the RHOyal blue and gold i saw every day
2. the first eee-yip i got when i parked my car to walk across the street to the hotel... it was everything i dreamed it'd be!
3. all the stRHOlling... need i say more? SIGMA women are too, too (read 2-2) sexy! it's a butler U. thing... Howard wouldn't understand!
4. all the love i was shown from so many sorors from all over the country... it really is touching to see familiar faces from area and regional meetings and have sorors know you and remember your last conversation
5. the fine IOTAs-- enough said.
6. all the business meetings: if i learned nothing else, parties, step shows, and everything else aside, SIGMA is really a business and a coporate entity and we have to keep it on the up and up. it was tiring, but it was a learning experience.

all my love and it was a great time in the M-I-A...

TRSimon 07-30-2002 12:17 PM

Hi Everybody!

I had fun at the Boule. I met tons of soRHOrs. We were lookin' sharp in our white on Sunday, and in blue and gold on every other day. It was all a highlight for me. I look forward to Memphis.

What a time!!

If you weren't there, sorry you missed it!!:p

Even though I had a number of personal setbacks, I still had a great time! I'm back, I'm broke but I had a ball! I was so happy to see so many Iotas in the lobby when I checked-in, some I knew from the DC grad chapter and we hung out for a spell before the show on Saturday.

I didn't stay for the entire show/party because I met in the lobby the nicest white couple from a farm in Oregon who kept asking me questions about "all the wonderful ladies in blue and gold". They treated me to dinner and drinks and I really enjoyed talking to them about Sigma, our programs, our history and other black greeks. This was truly a blessing because I wasn't about to pass up no free meal but I really enjoyed "educating" them.

Above all I really enjoyed meeting so many Sorors --

Mrs. Kim Thomas-Taylor (goldenpoodle of Delta Alpha Sigma Chapter)- yall truly got it going on in Augusta, GA.

Atlanta area Sorors -- where would my crazy but be if you hadn't scooped me up off of South Beach?

Ninja Poodle -- is the sweetest. I rarely saw her without her camera.

And for all yall who don't know TRSimon really is crazy!! I enjoyed having lunch with you. I wished I could have talked with you more.

I can't wait until the next Boule!! :D

TRSimon 07-30-2002 04:42 PM

Hey SoRHOr BlueReign...

See, Soror Moderator is really sweet, but she got a twisted side, too.... I seent it. I wish we could have spoken more, but I guess that's what Memphis is for...

Much Luv

Much luv to all the ladies of RHOyalty I met at your boule. Unfortunately, I was sick on the evening of your Show and Afterparty and was back in our hotel. I heard it was incredible though. Thanks for all of the luv your ladies showed to the men of Iota.

Much luv to all of your sorors who came to the Eta Omega party on Friday (7/20). I enjoyed party stroll with u and my bros and well as watching all of you stroll.

Hopefully we will get the chance to do it again someday.

To Ninjapoodle and all GC'ers I missed: I am sorry folks, but I was a mess. Hopefully you passed by me even if u did not recognize me. Someday though we will all hang out.

But that's okay sorhor I know that it's my fault and I should've attended the conference so that I wouldn't have to beg like a poor little puppy:D ! I am so happy that you Sorors enjoyed the Boule in Miami. I hate that I didn't get the chance to attend. From the posts that I've read, and the pictures I have seen, it was a blast. I think it is great that the Iotas supported us! Look forward to everyone joining us here in Memphis for Boule 2004!

....albeit, a little late. :D

Boule was off the map! A very, very classy and elegant production. I must commend Eta Kappa Sigma and their undergraduates and other local alumnae who assisted. It was a RHOyal pRHOduction!

arRHOgance, what's up baby girl? I had too much fun hanging with you, dezzy, Daisy, Pam and Tifani! And the "Addictive" stRHOll was lovely wasn't it. I was throwing the brothers attending the party napkins so they could wipe the drool from their mouths. We handled up on that stroll girl. Trust me, I took that back home with me.

The public meeting was awesome. I appreciated the wonderful sisterly greetings brought by Ms Black(Zeta sister) of the NPHC. Sister Black is a true blue (pun intended) sister. She is a great sister and quality leader. She is a shinning example of how sisters & brothers in the Divine 9 should behave towards each other. We could all learn some unity tips from her. What an excellent woman chosen to lead the National Pan. The local Pan brought greetings, the city of miami & dade county saluted us, the Kappas did a smooth job, the Phi Beta Sigma's welcomed us with love, the AKA sister represented and brought us kind greetings, the Iota Polemarch(sp?) brought the charge and affirmations - I love to hear that brother speak!

Then having Ms. Maxine Waters (Delta sister) speak! She was intelligent, powerful and articulate - what a great speaker and sister! It was also cute the way Ms. Waters Sister, Dr. Kim (Sigma Soror) and the IGB Owens joked about what sorority she should have pledged. I appreciated that we could joke as sisters and as a community in the fun lighthearted way we did. Ms Waters message was a good one. She touched on the recent police brutality against the child (16 yr old) in CA, and many other pertinent issues.

The awards banquet was the ultimate in class & elegance! From the beautiful dais, sorors in their finest RHOyal Blue & Gold evening wear to the tea rose mirrored center piece, to the operatic selections brougt to us by that talented sistah studying opera, Eta Kappa Sigma took us to a whole nother level at this Boule!

The party at Klub Krave on South Beach was fun. Sorors were mad deep! The whole club was Sigma-fied. I was working the door, Trust me, 9 out of 10 people in the club were Sigmas, we mobbed South Beach that night. VIP was banging, sorors was up on stage, on top of speakers, strolling in VIP, everything was tight. And it was all love.

The Omega Rho Ceremony, was a sight to see. Sorors as far as the eye can see in pure white, just as classy as they wanted to be remembering our sorors who entered Omega Rho.

The Tank concert was nice, and Ms. Ruby Baker was even better. Now that sistah can SANG! And ...She is now a Sigma Soror! She was so pleased and floored by our genuine-ness(is that a word) and sisterly love she pledged a Floridian chapter shortly after the Boule. And Ms. Baker was a legacy of a long line of another Divine 9 group. RHOyalty is now her legacy! ;)

I met sorors from the 'net, those I hadn't seen in while, bonofied old heads, and a host of neos, fresh off the sands! I had an opportunity to sit and chat with our IPGB Dr. Morris and her Sister Dr. Carter at the loddy cafe and was called by first and last name by our current IGB Owens. *gasp* *clutching the pearls & rubies*

You know as long as I've been apart of the Sigma Legacy, the genuine sisterhood and sincerity of the membership and affiliates continues to amaze me. Who would have thought, hob-knobbing with Immediate past grand basileus and on a first name basis the with current Internal Grand Basileus....I tell ya! Sigmas, we have a good thing here ladies!

So glad I took the RHOad less traveled. Truly it has made all the difference in the world!

Eee-yip! Keep *STRIVING* Goddesses,.....until the Dawn!

Sisterly,

Aurora6

BlueReign 09-12-2002 02:04 PM

WOW!

Boule wasn't that long ago. I've been so busy that it feels like a year has passed! Thanks for refreshing my memory of what a beautiful time we had.

And yes that was nice the way they joked during the public meeting -- In the words of IGB Owens to Maxine Waters, "I'm going to say it again, you ought to be a Sigma." :)
