Student Loans
Woo hoo... I only have $5,238.66 left to pay on my student loan!!!!!
|
WOW! I didn't even borrow that much. I went to a state school. :D My sister goes to private school and borrows more money in one year than I did in four. :(
|
I went to a commuter college and my loan was for only TWO semesters!!
Unfortunately my husband has a greater debt than I do  He went to a private university which cost about FOUR times as much as mine did for ONE semester!! localsororities, where did you go to school?!? |

I've got about $7,500 left to go.
My parents paid the in-state tuition for me for my B.A. Then, my brilliant self decided I needed to do a technical school program. This time I was on my own... So I've been introduced to the wonderfull world of loans. That's okay though. There's lots of us in the same boat. |
how depressing.
I've been out of school for 11 years and I still owe: $27,000! :( |
I owe about $18,000 so far (this is my senior year), but I am going to teach in a critical needs area when I graduate so I don't have to pay them back. :D If anyone is even remotely interested in teaching, that is a wonderful option so you can start out almost debt free.

Beginning balance was about $45K. Which I don't consider too bad, when all totalled, my years at USC cost about $120K Steeltrap, where are you? You can back me up on this, I know you can! :) |

Just undergrad for 4 1/2 years.
|
Get this: A friend of mine who TRANSFERRED to NYU, and was only there for 3 years, now owes close to 100,000 in loans!!!!! Now that's craziness right there!
|
My sister goes to NYU as a transfer. I'm afraid that she will spend the next decade paying off student loans.
|
I have student loans too (undergrad and grad) :(
Mine are...ummm let's just say that I attended undergrad OUT-OF STATE which is what was the most expensive for me! :( |

Just like someone else said earlier, I didn't have any loans from undergrad. I was lucky. But 25 year old me has decided to go back to school so I can actually do something with my life and now I'm on my own to do it. I have a 7800 dollar provincial loan and a 10k line of credit from the bank. so basically 20k for one year. i'll graduate with 40k in debt. and i was stressed about it. You all made me feel SO much better about it. Going to college and university here (in Canada) is WAY more affordable. There is no undergrad program that will cost you more than 5k a year. And when I went, it was only 3500 dollars.
I can't imagine how people are ever expected to pay back such unbelievable amounts of money  |

I just got my balance $58,000---that is for undergrad and grad school--at a private university!!!
Some days I sit at work--look at the BS I am doing--and think "I went to college and grad school--all I got was BS at work and a butt load of student loans!!!" |
I have about $1200 of loans from one semester at a private college.
Thanks to TOPS, the other 3.5 years of my education were paid for by the state. AND I got a $400 stipend for books each semester. If I can keep up my full ride for Law School, I'll graduate with about $24,000 in loans from that, at most. Not to shabby, when I consider how poor my family and I would be had I stayed at Tulane. Thank youl, Louisiana :D |

I am also considering going this route since I have a big tab already with 2 more years to go, plus I am realizing that I really have an interest in teaching for a few years before going to grad school. |
LOANS BOOO!!!
I totally understand how everyone feels. This will be my fourth year in college, third year at an in state school, and I just keep thinking thank god I moved back home. I have been blessed that my parents/grandparents were for the most part helping me with my education, but since my younger sister is going away, I am taking out loans to finance my last year. It is soooo scary, but just another step on the way to growing up. I will probably have 15k or so this year and than grad school loans if I do go that route. Thanks Higher Education for making it so possible for everyone.

I feel like I'm not making a dent in my loan at all :(
