Your Position?
So I was wondering who holds/or held a chapter position or any other position within the Greek system? Which one(s) have you held and which one was your favorite? I'll start off...
PHA Public Relations Director PHA Newsletter Editor VP Programming Intersorority Rep. I think VP Programming has been the most satisfying position that I've held so far. I mean, I'm still the current VP Programming, but I enjoy planning a program from start to finish, especially one that my sisters enjoy. It's also a great position because you have the chance to interact with other members of the Greek and campus community when you plan campus-wide programs, hence, you get the chance to meet more people. In fact, I like the position so much, that I've actually thought of becoming an event planner! :p Well, maybe that can be my side career. :) |
I have served the Zeta Triton Chapter of Phi Sigma Kappa as Secretary, Scholarship Chair and currently Vice-President and Rush Chair. Hopefully I'll be elected President in December! :)
I almost forgot, my favorite has been Rush Chairman since it's so exciting to meet so many new people! |
I've been.....
President IFC Rep House Manager Pledge Captain Rush Chairman (currently) |
President (the most rewarding/stressful/educational/stupid/time-consuming/amazing thing I have ever done!)
VP Program Development Panhellenic Delegate Member Dev. Board |
Let's see...
I'm the Panhell Delegate used to be Sorority Growth/Development Chair Recording Secretary |
Ive been:
House Manager Kustos Ritual Chair IFC Rep Asst. Magister(pledge ed) Magister |
President (favorite, by far)
Ritualist Alumni Relations Web master Senior Advisory Committee Chairman (committee of senior brothers) Food Drive Chairman IFC Web master IFC Representative |
i have been Guard, and currently hold the Alumnae Relations & Director of Finance positions...i have NO IDEA what the future has in store for me, BUT it has been EXTREMELY satisfying to be in charge of Alum Relations. It brings me pride & pleasure to incorparate our loyal Alumns in ALL we do! =)
|
I'm only in my first year, so I haven't held that many positions, but I was my pledge classes new member educator (I think our chapter is the only one that does this, but I don't know) and am currently director of house management. I would never, ever NEVER hold this position again, even if they PAID me. I've had so much trouble with this position, and I really have problems with people going over my head with stuff just because it's a lower position. ARGH!!!! I'm actually thinking I may run for VP: Programming, though... If I don't do that, I'll probably be social chair. I'm pretty perfect for that position, anyway, and I'd have a blast doing it!:-)
|
currently:
-Grand Master of Ceremonies (2nd VP & Ritualist) past: -IFC rep -bro'hood chair -formal chair -social chair Social chair was the best position, by far, for every reason imaginable. |
Currently:
Rush chair Past: Philanthropy chair 1st VP Running for either President or New Member Educator in December! |
I was on the Ritual and Fund Raising commitee and Recruitment Exec. as Asst. Recruitment Chair. And am currently working as an Alumni Advisor for Recruitmen.
I guess it's pretty obvious that I love Recruitment and would say serving on Rec. Exec. was the best, but I'm also having a blast this year helping wherever needed and offering solutions to problems we ran into previously, etc. I LOVE RECRUITMENT *rush*!!!! Tara I have a Phi Mu castle... |
I was the one who created my chapter's webpage and maintained it. Since I went Alumn, I don't know who is in charge...SAD!
I was also PR for Panhellenic but only held that position for a short while. Hootie |
presently: new member coordinator (best position ever:D) & vp finance panhel
treasurer 2 terms :P (it got really old after the first year) asst. treasurer i was born to be rvp/formal recruitment chair but alas... i've run out of time... if only i hadn't been stuck with treasurer for so long (very long story) ah well  |
I was
Vice President Pledge educator |
Since I've only been a Pi Phi for a semester I've only had a chance to get elected to one position. I'm the assistant to our secretary and I help her with initation and stuff like that. :)
Hopefully I'll have held more offices by the end of my collegiate career! Jess |
Well, I am currently the Financial Vice President-- which is soooo hard!
In the past I've been Chapter Historian, and Alumni relations Chair. I've enjoyed all three positions, but I like Financial VP, because I get to be on Executive Board, which I love! |
I have been VP Social Asst. and I am currently the VP Social (Pledge Educator). The idea of running for president or panhel exec has crossed my mind, but I'm going to wait and see!
I really do enjoy being VP Social. It's a very rewarding position, and it gives me a great chance at meeting the new pledges. :D |
I was the scholarship chair in the past, and currently I am the webmistress. Also, this semester I may be taking over historian.
|
I was really involved in high school, so it was natural for me to run for something in my sorority!! I am currently the Purchasing Coordinator.....I handle stuff like buying t-shirts, booking composite dates, etc.......I hope to run for VP Finance next semester!!!

In order...
Philanthropy Chair Marshal (Candidate Ed) Lieutenant Commander (VP) Petition Committee Chair (ran the committee that wrote our petition for charter which was approved) Treasurer (current) |
Alumnae Chair
Inter Greek Council (IGC) Representative Vice President Programming Chair for IGC Executive Vice President |
Currently I am Vice President Communications
In the past I have been: Pledge class President(ok i know it is not a big deal but I actually had a lot I had to do), Jr. Panhellenic Delegate, Assistant Sponsorship, and Director of Alumnae Relations. I think my favorite postion of all is probably alumnae relations. I made a lot of good connections and it really opened my eyes to how much DG means to people even in their 70's. And the older alumnae loved me so much they still buy me presents a year later and spoil me, like i'm their grandchild! I love it because it really makes me feel connect with these women you are 40 or 50 years older then me. Being this position really helped me feel the bond being in a sorority is supposed to give you! |
Recruitment Chair
Pledge Educator Public Relations Alumnae Relations Historian Risk Management Fundraiser Chair Song & Ritual Chair Constitution Committee |
Currently:
Assistant Scribe (Corresponding Secretary) Rush Chairman Greek Council President Past: Philanthropy Chair (most rewarding) Social Chair (most stressful) |
geez, where to begin? i did a little of everything:
Treasurer (yuck! what a job!) Asst. Treasurer Leadership Chair Alumnae Relations Chair Parlimentarian Awards Chair Ritual Committee Asst. Scholarship Chair That's all i can think of at the moment, my brain's pretty fried this AM. Currently, I'm trying to get our area alumnae association going again. |
I was VP Operations, VP Scholarship, Webmaster, and President. I am currently the Scholarship/Alumnae Relations advisor (and unofficial web advisor) for my chapter. :)
|
Panhel rep
Ritualist Fundraising chair Alumnae chair House manager * I was also a rho chi - does that count? I also put together my chapter's first webpage. * We didn't have a house, but Panhel maintained a room for all non-housed sororities to use. The house managers from those sororities were responsible for organizing room cleanups and maintaining a room reservation schedule. |
President (favourite!)
2nd VP (the VP of Alumnae relations and Social "chair") Chaplain Scholarship Chair oops... and webmaster. I knew I was missing one :) |
In college, I held the positions of:
President Recording Secretary Historian Public Relations Chairman Lamp Editor Currently, I am: Webmaster for my alumnae chapter Lamp reporter for my alumnae chapter Ritual advisor to a collegiate chapter Alumnae relations advisor to a collegiate chapter Georgia alumnae membership chairman |
my position? Hand cuffed and blind folded!
Anyway, I am the house manager and plan to run for Chaplin. |
i held V.P. Member Education - 2001
Panhellenic Public Relations - Spring 2002 Panhellenic President - Fall 2002 Will most likely run for President or V.P. Membership (Recruitment) for 2003. :D |
Since I've been a member I've held just about everything at least once:
Alumnae Liaison Parliamentarian Corresponding Sec VP of Service President (now) So as you can see, I was patient and worked my way up, lol. This is my first full term as Chapter President...I stepped in last Spring semester after the previous one had to step down. I'm looking forward to it, but I know already that it's going to be LOTS of work :D |
My preferred position is on top! I feel more in control. :D
But, seriously I do feel more in control of what happens in a chapter with a EC position. My favorite ones were Publicity and Social chair. |
re: Your position?
Optimist Prime,
If you run for and are elected "Chaplin", do you have to dress up in a bowler hat, cut away coat, baggy trousers, and carry a cane? Sorry, couldn't resist. I had visions of Charlie Chaplin conducting the duties... |
In my chapter I have served as co-chair of the Alumnae/Parents committee, Philanthropy Chair, and served as the Dancer Group Representative to our school's Dance Marathon :D
|
Damn, great resumes!
I only held two positions, Founder and God of the Local! Never anything with the Chapter of LXA! But since then: Founded the Core Group to keep the charter, start an Alum Group, reinstate the Alum Golf Tourney, start a mentoring group to work with the Chapter, and a building committee for a new House. One must remember, I graduated in the time of Christ 1967 but should have in 1964, to much fun and schools! Other than that, I guess not much!:D If had stayed single would have still been there!:D :) Well needless to say, I am still involved! :) Go Fellow Greeks! |
Geez...I was Administrative VP, Panhellenic Delegate, Assistant Financial VP, Assistant New member director, and standards chair in Gamma Phi.
In panhellenic I was Public Relations and Judical chair and President. I guess my fav. was President because I learned a whole lot about delegation and responsiblity. I am greatly thankful of the opportunities to serve the greek system at my school. Now that i have graduated and i look back I'm really glad that I got the chance to be a leader.:) |
Current: President and Scholarship Representative to Panhellenic
Past: Recording Secretary, Parents Chair, Insignia Chair (in charge of ordering shirts, jewelry, ect.), Sisterhood Chair, and Social Chair |
