Highs and Lows
hello all,
Ok so one of my sisters and I do this thing called highs and lows. we do it for the day, the week, and even the year. So since our bored needs a little pep i decided to start this thread. Tell us what your highs and lows are.....come on daily, weekly or even monthly. Keep posting when something good happens and when something bad. So I will start. Highs- Weekly-one of my best friends came home from vacation, and my other best friends is coming back next year. Summer-I have gotten closer with one of my sisters who i wasnt really with. Lows- Weekly- I am all alone, my parents are in San Diego...time for them to come home, enough alone time has been had. Summer- my parents were in a car accident, and my grampa got sick. Highs -- knowing that I'll be a mom soon! Lows -- knowing that I'll be a mom soon! ;) I am excited, nervous, confused, happy, and SCARED to death -- all at the same time!! Guess that makes me normal :D AXO Princess -- hope your grampa & parents are better now - sorry that you are dealing with that. YIPEE that you got to know a sister better - sometimes that makes ALL the difference :D Especially when you are learning that that's what makes a sisterhood. |

Anyway my highs and lows... Highs Weekly-Making myself some Alpha Chi butt pants, yay for wearing your letters on your arse! Summer-Ummm, OMD (for you Mairin)...but really, that I'm going back to the UA next year and I'm gonna be a Recruitment Counseler! Lows Weekly-The fact that I'm bored to death! Summer-That I have to have no contact with my sisters for a whole week! Honestly don't know how I'm gonna do it! |

Highs-I am on my week off from work (though am working tonight-but only one day out of nine isn't bad) I have my vet. school 5 year reunion in College Station this week and my friend Margie who I havn't seen in 4 years is staying with me Lows-I had to help one of my sisters through a difficult time with her cat on Sunday-he had cancer and she had to put him to sleep. She lives in Washington DC and I couldn't be there physically with her-but I will see her this weekend to give her a great big hug |

I got a job teaching 4th grade next year I'm planning an awesome trip to Disney World next month I love my summer job My friend just became a mommy AXOAlum will soon be a mommy and I'm excited for her!! lows- I got a job teaching 4th grade next year (talk about STRESS!!!!) I broke up with my boyfriend on Monday (or should that be a high???) I'm scared to death to have my own class I still can't move out of my parents' house! |

no i started this with meggie when we had the dinner exchange with theta....and we do it whenever we have dinner....but i thought if i did it on here we might get some more action on the AXO board:D todays: ~high~:D -I am going to see some of my sisters in scottsdale -As of sateday i only have 2 weeks till i get to see all my sisters~WOOOOHOOOOOO ~Lows~:( -i will only get to see AXwhoah one day before school starts ......sad -Only two weeks to work on a oref ceremony that needs to be done last month......ahh recruitment.....gotta love it AXO alum~congrats on your pending motherhood...maybe we will have a legacy on our hands;) AXwhoah~what up uno...OMD...see it is universal, lol. miss and luv you so much....big hug sent to you. Highs-The rain has let up, I didn't have to drag the hose around. Friends in town, going to the new "in" restaurant tomorrow. LOST 7 LBS!!! Lows-Some kind of FUNGUS is killing my plants and the weeds are going crazy. (see RAIN) Baby girl will be leaving in a matter of days.:( REALLY LOW- There's a "serial" killer on the loose in Baton Rouge and I'm so worried... at the very least, they've linked some of the murders together. |
Highs:
Loving my sweet sisters who are all so kind & caring!! Thanks! (Just for the record we're down to 3 weeks -- I haven't dilated, but he has turned - YIPEE!) Rain!!! Sorry, JAM, but we are down about 6 feet in our lakes and ponds. One of our lakes is so low, that they now have grass where their piers used to be! They've had to have cranes come and lift their boats out of the dirt!! Being in love with Mr. AXO Alum -- we have been so close throughout this pregnancy and he is already a great daddy! He has taken our classes so seriously, and knows exactly where I'm at in pregnancy, what should happen next, etc. I am just so proud :D Lows: :( Fighting with my siblings! My brother is 25, and my sister is 33 (I'm 28) -- apparantly they haven't figured out that we are all adults now and can run our own lives!! Uncomfy -- I can't sleep very well thanks to my human pin-ball machine! My back hurts and he is apparantly a nocturnal creature!! I am usually only sleeping for an hour and a half at the most during one time. Then up for half an hour, and sleep again. Of course the constant potty trips don't help!! ~~~~~ CASH - WAY TO GO GIRL!! I am so happy for you! Having your very own class :D That is exciting! I know you're scared, but you will be GREAT! Keep us posted! JAM -- I will pray that your rain comes to us!! Hope that things go well with your little one :) AggieAXO - so sorry your friend is going through the pain of loss. I know you will be a big comfort to her!! Good luck with the reunion! Cash78mere-The GOOD news about 4th graders is the still LOVE their teacher (unlike 5th) AND they have developed enough "sense" that you can communicate and get into some symolism and creativity! I bet you will LOVE them as I know they will love you!
AXO Alum-Wish I had some good news for your sleep pattern! Alas, I have none AND...it will get worse because those little bits are HUNGRY all the time! Is anyone coming to stay with you when you get home from the hospital? Just 3 or 4 days really helps, but then it's time for them to leave. You will be so anxious to have your private little family. Gee, I'm getting misty remembering... I envy you. The unbelievable thing is-it gets more and more beautiful each day. |

Can I start with the lows and end with the highs? It just kind of "feels" better.
Lows-all this worry about the serial killer and now the West Nile Virus is putting a damper on what SHOULD be a great time for those attending LSU. Baby girl leaves today!:( My yard looks REALLY bad-something has killed a good portion of my flowers... Highs-got to send out a few recs for some great girls...not because of our local Panhellenic Alum Assoc mind you...happy just the same though. Anxious to hear about the baby AXO Alum, excited for all the chapters that are in workshop. Really excited for Carnations girls, even though there isn't an AXO chapter for them to visit. With baby girl gone and a son who has a busier social calandar than us, Hubby and I will be able to steal a few more romantic moments than we could these past few months!;) |

Highs and Lows
Man, I can definitely say I've been feeling both lately Highs: I get to go back to school in two weeks which also means I get to see my highly-missed sisters and friends. I also get to feel some freedom again, and settle down and realize that I only have one more year till I leave for my study abroad in Spain! Lows: I go back to school in two weeks, which also means I have to miss my parents all over again, miss my 5 month old nephew and many of his "firsts", miss being in contact with some of my siblings who don't feel the need to make a 5 minute phone call to just say hi, and I'll be leaving a nice-paying job for an extremely big cut in pay at a more time-demanding job. But overall I'm happy just I guess I should go with the flow and not worry about things until it's time to worry about them, right? Have a nice day everyone! Mary |
AXOprinces, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather. My grandparents were the world to me and it's was hard to see them age...
AXOMarq, I know my daughter felt the same way, like she was able to BREATHE again!-LOL I know she will miss us as we will miss her, but when it's time, it's time. I love to hear how close people are with their family. My daugher would LOVE to study abroad. You lucky girl, SPAIN!!! |

Only one more week until I see my sisters! A few days after that I become a full fledged recruitment counseler!! I just got the Sims Hot Date (Mairin I know you understand my joy, hehe) Lows- All my sisters are back tomorrow and I'm still stuck in Oregon PS. Mairin good luck with recruitment and pref night, I miss you so much and I will see you in a week!! |

highs - going to Aerosmith (my favorite band ever) this weekend with my wonderful big - planning a trip to the next wedding that'll end up being a big Alpha Chi event :) - having all my sisters over my house for a cookout on Friday (and some of their really cool boyfriends, who I love hanging out with) lows - weight loss plateau. need I say more? - not being able to find a dress for this evening wedding. Has anyone else noticed that everything is either super-dressy or super-skanky now? - friend drama. why is my friend talking about bringing a date to the wedding when: 1) everyone else is going by themselves (and I don't think we're supposed to bring dates - hello, Alpha Chi event here) 2) the date knows no one else at the wedding and is still madly in love with her roommate (who's dating his best friend and bringing him to the wedding) 3) she always complains about being involved in the drama between all of them 4) just because her roommate probably thinks it would be so cute to see her two bestest friends EVER together FOREVER because of her, the guy's still a big loser not that this has been annoying me for a while or anything....:rolleyes: |

Lows- Dang is it hard NOT hearing about the rush activities of your daughter.......but I understand. Highs-A friend of the family just had a BABY! Yeah! She has so many medical problems, but she delivered today. A BOUNCING BABY BOY! AXO_ALUM?????????????? I bet you get tired of all the questions. (I just can't help myself...I'm in the BABY MODE!) Once you have your little bundle, let's talk BOOKS! I have a few good ones to suggest! |

Highs: Starting graduate school on Monday! Mr. AXO MOM 3 has plans for us tomorrow night - and he is being secretive...All I know is the sitter is coming at 5:30! I have no idea what he has concocted, but I can't wait to find out! Lows: Starting graduate school on Monday! I have not been in school in 10 years, and am starting to wonder exactly what I was thinking when I applied for this program! Nah - I'm sure it's just first day jitters! Dirty rush practices by other chapters at the school where I advise for rush! It is SO bad! |
Highs:
being off for the next 3 days having my mom in town :) just being able to relax helping out with UT Austin rush on Sunday and Monday Lows: starting work again on Tuesday seeing that Home depot stock went up and I did not buy :( Having a dog come in to the EC collapsed and I can't figure out why-urggggg, so frustrating |

Having had a great summer! I had an internship doing something I like, I got to spend time with a lot of my friends, lots of beach time, and I spent my last two weeks at home. Seeing most of my friends next week. Even though classes don't start until September 3, I'm going back a week early. Not for recruitment--just to chill. Buying new cookware. Lows: Long-distance relationships suck. :( |

excited about alum activity excitment of moving schools being with old friends spending more time with my bf feeling calm lows leaving my chapter.. missing my friends feeling doubt Just an update: I went to FSU like two weeks ago for pre rush and moved in the house.. it was not agood experience for me since i had a really bad summer and hard year, so i decided that i needed a break from fsu and sorority life.. not to mention something other things up there.. so i came home to Orlando and started attending comm. college a week later. I am getting in touch with the Orlando ALum Group so i can be active. I am sad about leaving but i know its good for me at the time. so thats me... love ashley |

I'm going to stick with the format- Highs-Going to Baton Rouge today to drop some things off for our daughter and will be having lunch. Son went to Tiger Day so Hubby and I had a very romantic dinner.;) Hubby ALSO won a tad over $500.00 in a drawing and guess who gets it???:D Lows-With daughter and son both at LSU, it really hit home what each and every day is going to feel like-like a part of me is missing... Wondering what I will do with an empty house... OH my goodness- I've got to end with SOMETHING positive because I've made myself blue. :( With the kids are gone, I WON'T HAVE AS MUCH LAUNDRY!!!! I can fix dinner when I'M darn good and ready. No more stray girls ringing the phone a 2 a.m. Wild wanton unbridled AMORE! LOL Hey,I could get used to this!:D |

Ashley, I hope things get better at work. There have been some crazy work stores on GC. Are you a Freshman ths year? Forgive me, I have trouble remembering all the ages from he rush threads. Tell that BF of yours he'd better get in shape! After all if he intends to date an AXO, he has to understand we MUST be treated like the ROYALTY we are and our pedestals must be polished...FREQUENTLY! ;)

Well, I don't HAVE any "highs" at the moment. WHY you might ask???
BECAUSE IT'S HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING WEEK! :mad: Why does that send my soul to the depth of despair??? Because, BECAUSE the Juniors and Seniors play WAR games all week long!!! They TP houses and dump shredded paper in your flower beds. They shoot paintballs at each other and EVERY YEAR someone ends up with a broken arm, foot or ankle. Then, there are always fender benders and if it turns UGLY, garbage is dumped in your yard. Last night as Hubby and I prepared, I swear it felt like we were getting ready for an invasion! Tonight it begins. (HUGE,DEEP SIGH):( |
For this week:
Highs: Dressing up as a 70s chick and having a corona with a lime after work for Halloween. Eating at the Melting Pot with friends from home last Sunday. OMG, I have never been so full in my life. For any of you that have ever been, its a fondue restaurant. We started with cheeses, swiss melted with wine and other fun stuff, and a fiesta chedder. Then you dip bread, apples and veggies. Then comes salad. Then comes meat that you cook yourself. Then dessert you dip into chocolate. Spending time with my parents for my birthday at home too. Step classes ... and the steam room and spa at my gym. Lows: Almost having an allergic reaction to a brazil nut. Last time it put me in the hospital. Having to leave St. Louis. Being almost broke and hoping I can make it to next week - payday and my trip to Nashville. |

Highs-I don't think I have any at the moment. :( Tons of lows that I've gripped about on a few other threads. I am SICK!!! Haven't had a cold in 2 years and now I can't BREATHE and get a headache when I cough... My hands are torn up due to all the clorene used washing the stinking mildew and mold off the house. My BEAUTIFUL willow is now gone and my yard looks like a new construction site.:mad: While sanding the house, I got a BAD splinter in my main typing finger-you know the one that communicates unhappiness to others on the highway. We just finished an 11 day run of rain and now they say it's coming again for the next 4 days!!! I know, I know- into everyones' life a little rain must fall!:rolleyes: |

HIGHS: - Went out and had a blast on Halloween as a Cowboy ( my roommate was an indian.. lol) - Last night I hung out with all the Clemson football players after they got back from beating DUKE (however, not as good a game as I would have LIKED to watch) - I got invited to Pi Kappa Phi's Mountain Weekend this coming weekend somewhere in NC by one of my good guy friends, Drew. - I got a card from one of my friends who used to be a Lambda Chi at school with me (sc) and lived like 20 min away from me (nj). He graduated last year and I miss him and he sent me a bday card... i was excited! LOWS: - my roommate got mad at me last night, have been having issues lately - It was Fall Break this weekend, but since I'm working (co-op ing) I had to stay here and work tomorrow and tuesday, but EVERYONE else on campus is on break.. NO FUN Um... that's about it!! Hope everyone is having a great day/week :) |
Justamom - I hope you have an incredibly HIGH week this week to make up for the crappy one you had last week!
Highs - Going to a Halloween party on Friday - my friend and I dressed as the two Miss North Carolina's - I was the brunette and had a bloody nose, she was the blond with a black eye. It got some great laughs! DH dressed in his yearly (daily) Halloween lumberjack attire - boots, flannel shirt, jeans and a hat. Watching the girls dressed up in their costumes - I had Marie from Aristocats, Minnie Mouse and a witch. Little Marie was pretty cute getting that candy, and eating it on the spot! Lows - I don't have any real lowes this week other than my norms - too much laundrey, not enough time in a day, my house looking like a tornado passed through it, etc. |
Highs: getting my financial statements and instead of crying and cursing the stock market, I am smiling, even though I have still lost money I am slowly gaining it back!!
having dinner with my friends every Monday night have a warm, cozy condo to live in-I am soooo thankful for this especially since it is 45 degress outside and pouring rain. Lows: starting my week on of work tomorrow-I am so burned out-blah getting my brakes done today-400$ ouch!! |

© My brother got me my belated birthday present (finally came in the mail)... a FLASK w/ our crest on it :D , i guess it'd be a bad idea to bring it to this weeks football game... :rolleyes: lol. © My brother also invited me over for dinner at his house, and we ge cooked me steak .. YUMMY. © I get a new lil bro today, it's Big Sis/Lil Bro revelation. His name is Jeremiah and he's the cutest thing ever (actually he's pretty hot, but he's a freshman and I'm a junior... and he's my lil bro, so I'll stick to the fact that he's cute) Lows: © I found out yesterday that this guy who is (a) like a grandpa to me since mine died and (b) been my grandma's buddy/companion -- died. At leats he went peacefully, and my grandma was on the phone with him at the time (Terrible, but she got to talk to him), he'd had a heart attack. :( © On a lighter note: woke up late for work today :mad: , I woke up 20 after i usually leave.. grrrrr, I hate alarms... but somehow I snuck in 10 min before our weekly wed meeting at 830am. ;) |

axotiger So sorry to hear about your loss. That has to be devesting for your Grandmother... aggieAXO-I lost a TON in the market-Lots of tech stocks (chips):( I'm going to get back in, just not ready quite yet! Highs-Almost done painting the house!!! What a project. I think this is the last "biggie" I'm going to get involved with for a while! My daughter called and actually asked for my advice! Yeah, she still needs her old Mom! My son has been on "angel" duty. Such a sweetie of late! Due to weather-we are now in the final phase of HOMECOMING! The dance is Sat. night. We ALMOST got rolled last night, but I think the girls felt like we were messed up enough so they just stuck a few signs in our yard and rang the doorbell. Two more nights to go... Lows-Still not done painting the house!:rolleyes: Always finding a spot here or there we missed or the primer shows through! Daughter turned 20 and made me feel a mix of happiness and sadness. She isn't a baby anymore, and I know she is on the verge of total independence-of course this could be placed under the highs because I'm so proud of her. Am thinking I have too many projects going on at once. From now until graduation I have a lot of committees to work on and am chairing one for my son's graduation. |
justamom thanx and good luck finishing the house!! Don't worry, of course your daughter still needs you :) I just turned 20 too a month or so ago, and I think my mom said the same exact thing about me not being her baby anymore. But being the youngest of 3 and the only girl... I'll always be their baby:D

Highs: I just got back together with my ex, we have been very good friends for almost 3 years and even though it didn't work out the first time I am willing to try again cause I just love him to death :) 2 of my cats that have been sick are now recovering-I have been so worried about them. Thay are now doing well. lows-I have to work this weekend-blah! |
