Since everyone else is doing it... Greeks in Wisconsin?

I was at UW-Whitewater, will be starting at UW-Milwaukee in Fall!

Uw-OshVegas in tha house

Hello from Wisco!

KappaKittyCat 07-26-2002 05:38 PM

I was born in Southern Illinois but raised in Madison, Wisconsin. The sheer size of UW-Madison turned me off (I confess, I like the personal touch), so I opted for Lawrence University and its Conservatory of Music in Appleton. A big shout out to all my Kappa sisters and fellow Greeks both here in Madtown and all over the state.

PhiStar 07-26-2002 05:56 PM

Hi

hey, i live in neenah, thats close to appleton. My friend does the radio show for lawrence on fridays. thats how i got interested in radio, and now i have my own show (in oshkosh though)

ZZ-kai- 07-26-2002 06:03 PM

Oshkosh Beta here. We have Betas at Lawrence, and man can they sing! Anyway, we are at UWO, Lawrence and Madison. We are always looking to expand, so if you know of any interest groups or locals, send them my way!

ACEOFDIAMOND 07-26-2002 07:17 PM

I grew up in milwaukee I went to UW Eau Claire for a year but transferred, I'm sure I would have rushed there if I was planning to stay but I'm in Ohio now.

sugar and spice 07-27-2002 12:25 AM

I've lived in Madison for my entire life, excluding my freshman year of college when I lived in Minneapolis. Now I've transferred back to UW-Madison for my sophomore year, and plan on rushing in the fall.

So I'm not Greek yet, but everything works out, hopefully I will be soon!

sigmachica 07-27-2002 12:54 AM

Im with the UW-Oshkoshvegas, aka Sloshkosh greeks! Way to represent guys! I am a Sigma there if you can't tell by the name!
Tri-Sigma Social Chair

KappaStargirl 07-27-2002 02:37 AM

I'm a Lawrence University alum, graduated in 1999. Now I live in California and participate in the "No, it's in Wisconsin" conversation on a regular basis :)

Marquette

Hey, I was born and raised in a suburb of Chicago but I am a sophomore at Marquette.

Funny Wisconsin story- I'm on the club softball team and we went down to Florida for spring break to play ball and a girl on one of the other teams asked us "oh, where's Marquette?" and we told them Milwaukee, Wisconsin. then she asked "where's that?" so we told her above Illinois. She still looked c onfused so we all look at her and go... "BELOW CANADA". I think she may have gotten the idea then. :)

Marquette, great school, but I do not like that part of town for the life of me. I don't venture far from the reaches of the UWM camups!!!

Eupolis 07-28-2002 12:42 AM

I'm also a Lawrence University alum of 1999. I was initiated into Mu Chapter of Phi Kappa Tau there in January, 1996, a chapter I'm still very proud to be connected to as an alum.

I've gotten in the habit of adding "in Wisconsin" whenever I say where I went to school, or I also end up having the "Oh, in New York?" "No, in Appleton, Wisconsin" conversation. :)

UW-Madison Greek

I just graduated from UW-Madison in May. While the Greek System isn't that big in Madison (in comparison to the GDI's), it was the best thing that ever happened to me!! I loved my 4 years in the Greek System and in my sorority Tri Delta. I encourage anyone going to Madison to rush, it makes the huge campus alot smaller and the bonds formed will last forever.

Oh lordy, they grow the cutest boys in Cedarburg. My college boyfriend's roommate was from Cedarburg, and we were good friends, but I swear I had the biggest crush on him for four years, you know the kind where he stands next to you and your IQ drops 30 points :).

Cheers to UW-Whitewater too, my best friend went there, he's a Sinfonian.

XOMichelle 08-07-2002 01:03 AM

Go Wisconsin! Don't go to school there, but I'm from there.

ChiOStar 03-05-2003 02:18 AM

I'm from WI, too!

Hey all!
I know I rarely post, but I am from WI, too! I was born and raised in Mequon (the town south of Cedarburg) and almost went to Madison. I go to UCLA, and, obviously, in Chi Omega. Sometimes I miss home though....go WI!

XOMichelle 03-05-2003 04:52 AM

ChiO Star-
Mequon! I went to USM!!!
Where did you go to HS?
-Michelle

ps- one of our advisors is from UCLA: Katherine W. She *just* got engaged, and totally rocks!
btw... Are you on the hooties site? Go to MSN and look for Chi O Hooties, make a netpassport, then email h2ootie@hotmail.com and tell her your full name and badge number. She'll sign you up.

ChiOStar 03-05-2003 12:04 PM

Hey Michelle!
I went to Homestead and actually really enjoyed it. That is so funny that you went to USM--I know quite a few of their 2002 grads!! No, I haven't signed up for the board, but thanks for the tip! :-) Tell your advisor congratualtions from her old Gamma Beta chapter and a little update: We won the award of excellence at last year's national convention, we were #1 on teh row for scholarship last quarter, and just last weekend, we had the largest team at UCLA's annual dance marathon. Chi-O and Gamma Beta are rockin'!!:D

ACEOFDIAMOND 03-05-2003 03:59 PM

I went to USM for a few years!!! My brother still goes there. I'm from Cedarburg.

damasa 03-05-2003 04:46 PM

Homestead haters, blah.

ZZ-kai- 03-05-2003 05:12 PM

A bunch of my brothers are from Homestead. PM me!

LOL, where the hell are all the Homesteaders popping up from? Not that many people live in Mequon. I don't get it?!?!

Nevertheless, still homestead haters.

And yes, I say that jokingly because like 10 of my brothers went to Homestead.

sugar and spice 03-05-2003 06:20 PM

Haha, Wisconsin Greeks are representing!

It's like the entire population of Mequon is on this board or something.
