Panera Bread

Have any of you eaten at Panera Bread? I have a few times, and I must say that they have pretty good food!

EagleChick19 07-14-2002 10:07 PM

I just ate there yesterday (for breakfast). I had one of their Cinnamon Crunch Bagels. It was so good! We (Harrisburg, PA) just got 2 Panera Breads recently, so I have been making up for lost time...lol.

SuperSister 07-14-2002 10:43 PM

I also love Panera . . . and the food is so filling! I'm a huge eater and I have trouble finishing a whole sandwich. I don't know what I'm going to do if I ever move where there isn't a Panera.

Emily

I know what I'd do.....GO CRAZY without one nearby!

Dionysus 07-14-2002 11:23 PM

I think St. Louis Bread Co. is the same thing as Panera, if so, I loovvvve the Asiago Cheese bagels!

Hootie 07-14-2002 11:23 PM

I couldn't believe they didn't have a single one in Austin while I was living there. I kept telling my friends back home that there were a few things I should venture into opening up...and Panera was one of them! SO GOOD!

Hootie:)

EagleChick19 07-14-2002 11:26 PM

I would eat there every day if I could...My fav sandwich is the Turkey on Panini Bread. I can't remember the name!!!!

Kevin 07-15-2002 12:49 AM

Someone gave me half of a Panera sandwich once... It was good.

Of course I was hungry at the time.

Artichoke and something...

SATX*APhi 07-15-2002 01:12 AM

No Panera Bread whatever's here. :( Sounds like we are missing out.

As Hootie has pointed out, I don't think that they had opened up a shop in TX. But, who knows?!? They could!

ThetaGirl1997 07-15-2002 01:48 PM

I love Panera Bread! There isn't one near my parents, so everytime I go home I have to take the cinnamon crunch bagels for my mom. The broccoli cheese soup in a sourdough bread bowl is sooo good.

UDZETA 07-15-2002 02:02 PM

Good stuff! We have one right next to campus! Can you say lunch!

EagleChick19 07-15-2002 02:22 PM

It makes me hungry!!!

valkyrie 07-15-2002 06:54 PM

Oh, I LOVE Panera!! The Mediterranean veg out sandwich is awesome...but their shortbread cookies are the best.

sigmagrrl 07-15-2002 09:07 PM

I'm Going Tomorrow!!

They have great bagels! I love their broccoli cheese soup as well. But, I have to say, I love their danish ring the most. I buy it whenever I go, it's so delish! I LOVE PASTRY!!!!

RubberSoul 07-15-2002 10:21 PM

I like Panera......I like the veggie sandwich with the caramelized onions on it.....and I am a soup freak, love the soup.

ShaedyKD 07-16-2002 01:06 AM

I seriously cannot stand Panera, and refuse to eat anything there, with the exception of cinnamon crunch bagels and raspberry cheese coissants. Don't ask, I've had many bad food experiences there...maybe it's just the one by me that sucks.

Yup, its one in the same. See, good things come from St. Louis. I am adicted to their summer strawberry, poppy-seed salad.

ZTAngel 07-16-2002 10:03 AM

I get really sick whenever I eat there. I think it's something they put it their bread cause I don't get sick when I eat their salads. A lot of my friends get sick from eating there too.

EagleChick19 07-16-2002 10:46 AM

Weird, I hadn't heard of that....

JMUduke 07-16-2002 10:54 AM

speaking of bread...i have to say quiznos makes awesome non-subway like subs!!! :D

EagleChick19 07-16-2002 11:22 AM

*stomach growling*....This is making me hungry!

Betarulz! 07-17-2002 12:48 PM

I worked at one for 22 months!!!

My family had cinnamon crunch bagles for breakfast for a year solid! :)

It was wicked tough for me to go from having Panera nearly everyday to none at all once I went off to college (the one in Lincoln isn't nearly as good as the one I worked at)

There are so many awesome things there. The best soup ever was the corn and green chili chowder, but the Clam Chowder, Potato Cream Cheese, french onion and Brocolli Cheddar were also awesome.

They have an awesome ceaser salad, and the Tomato and Mozzarela salad they have in the summer is really good too!

All the sandwhiches really kick ass, but the my favorite was a Bacon Turkey Bravo, on Tomato basil bread, with everything, add onions, no gouda, sub swiss...I must have had that for like 2 months straight.

I reccomend the cinnamon rolls, the pecan rolls, the gooey butter danish, the razcheese crossaints, and the blondies. Also if they ever have the white choclate almond crunch...get that!

Oh, and just an inside tip from a veteran employee...don't ever get the cream cheese, b/c it's probably been out for a while...I know that we seldom got cream cheeses done in a reasonable amount of time. I'm surprised more ppl didn't get sick.

Oh and St. Louis Bread is one and the same with Panera.

How about the asiago cheese? Is that safe to eat?

EagleChick19 07-17-2002 01:45 PM

I think that the Asiago cheese is fine, because its baked into the bread. But, she is saying that don't take the cream cheese b/c it has been sitting out for a while.... You know what that can give you...

Food Poisoning!!

Exactly...Everyone hated having to make those little single servings of cream cheese. Weekends were the worse, b/c obviously in the morning we sold a lot of cream cheese. And since we also had to still take care of customers, sometimes the cream cheese would sit out for a couple hours before being refrigerated again...

The asiago is perfectly fine...it usually was frozen right up until the point it was going to be baked.

ksig600 07-18-2002 07:40 PM

Panera is some good eatin', and there's plenty here in Atlanta.
I really like the potato soup in the sour dough bread bowl, and the cuban sandwich.
My ex-girlfriend used to work there, so I would get free lunches...
good times!

EagleChick19 07-18-2002 09:13 PM

I also love their Green Tea!!

UofISigKap 07-19-2002 10:49 AM

None around here

The poppyseed dressing on the strawberry salad...I'm so glad that was mentioned! It is delicious. :) Broc and cheese bread bowls too. There are no Panera's out here in Virginia where I am. It is tragic because I love that place.

I noticed that the two bad experiences were in Florida. Could they be the same store? My knowledge of FL geography isn't very good.

EagleChick19 07-19-2002 10:51 AM

Have you guys looked at their website?

Here's a link to it: http://www.panerabread.com

Enjoy!!

bucutie02 07-24-2002 12:21 PM

Okay I live in Houston, so i know for a fact they have atleast one shop in texas.

Anyway, one morning this lady from Panera came in to the office to give us a bag full of four bagels for free. I luckily got the asiago cheese bagel. I ate it without cream cheese, just plain, and it was SOOOO good! Hopefully one day i will go into their store because the menu had some yummy sounding things.

TigerGirl52 07-24-2002 01:08 PM

I'm so jealous!!! I just visited the website and everything looks so good. I wish we had one here. Maybe I'll have to check into getting one in Baton Rouge!!! :)

XOAlumXO 07-24-2002 02:04 PM

I love Panera- my Big use to work there so she'd hook us up all the time. I really love their icy Mocha. Yum. I think I'll have to go there for lunch this week!

greeklawgirl 07-24-2002 02:11 PM

Well, they don't have one in California, so I'm just going to drool over the menu and sulk.

Sulk, sulk, sulk. ;)

EagleChick19 07-24-2002 11:59 PM

I'm going to try to go over tomorrow!! BUCutie02, they do have Paneras in Texas, but they're mostly in the Houston/Dallas metro areas.

EagleChick19 07-25-2002 12:53 AM

I haven't tried any of their desserts. Are they any good?

EagleChick19 07-25-2002 09:54 PM

BUMP!

thetakates 07-26-2002 02:28 AM

ARGHH!!! They are opening a new one in the town where I go to school. I cannot wait for it to open because it is near the mall where I work! I love Panera Bread adn it sucks to be at school because there are like 3 of them on the northside of Indianapolis where my parents live! So we will finally have one in my town! :) YEAH!

EagleChick19 07-26-2002 08:24 AM

Thetakates, I'm glad to see that you're getting a Panera near you at school! Enjoy! :)
