What is everybody taking this semester?
This semester I'm taking Chem + lab, Communications, pschology, weight training, math, history (post civil war), and I think thats all.
I'm not really looking forward to Chem (had it last semester too) and math during the same semester......:( |
Comparative politics--3 credits
American Federal Government--3 credits State and Local Government--3 credits Family Health Sciences or something like that (easy elective for some relief)--3 credits Spanish--5 credits The Spanish class is everyday and is 5 credits so that puts me at a maximum for the sem. My roommates and I are going to have a "Star Chart System." There are 4 of us in our room in the house, and for each class we attend we get a star. I'm taking the health class with one of them (different periods) and if one of us misses a star for anything that week, that one has to go to the Friday morning health class and the other gets to sleep in. There will be alternative punishments and rewards for my other two roomies and all our other classes for whoever is named slacker of the week. I think this thing will last about a week before the four of us overthrow the system. :D |
good system
That sounds like a good incentive, the star system. Hope it lasts:)

We just really need to be motivated if we're going to be living in the house. It would be too easy to linger at lunch or stay in bed or hop in the car and go to the mall... |
For the fall, I am taking:
Social Inequality (sociology) 3 credits Lifespan Development 3 credits The Family (sociology) 3 credits Sexual Diveristy (sociology) 3 credits Jewish History 3 credits After this semester, I just have to take one more sociology class and my minor is done. Thank goodness I enjoy this area! It is also pretty cool that after this fall semester is complete, I only need 3 credits to graduate! |
Motivation
Maybe I should start a thread on motivation.hehe. lol. For me its sooooooooo easy to just stay in bed in the mornings. I learned never ever take a PE class in the morning, talk about no motivation. But at least theres only two days where I absolutely have to get out of bed for in tha A.M.

Grad Classes!
African American Poetry and Poetics
Advanced Poetry Workshop I wantedto take it easy for my first semester in grad school and make sure I get A's! There might be some semesters that I take twice that, like if I have an internship related to the field. PS - I'm in an MFA program. PPS - I get to watch SLAM! and listen to OUTKAST for my African American Poetry class! |
Had that class
NwSigKap,
I had Intro to Mass Media last semester and it was actually pretty interesting:) |

Classes! Classes!
My classes, as of now, for next semestre:
French Culture & Writing II Linear Algebra Intro to Philosophy Tennis (!!!) I'm a bit annoyed that my French class will be meeting at 8:50 two days a week. That was the only section of this class, too. This better be worth it. It's been too long since I've taken a math class! I'm actually looking forward to getting back into my analytical mindset for this class. Intro to Philosophy--I can't say I have high expectations for this class; it is an intro class. My dad is really into philsophy, and I am quite a bit like my dad, so who knows what may happen. (But I will NOT become a philosophy major, that's for sure.) I don't really count Tennis as a class, per se, because it does not count for credits. I am really looking forward to it though; I bought a racket last weekend:D I am actually looking to take a fourth class (tennis doesn'tcount, remember?). The choices: English, History, Linguistics, and Computer Science. Since I am planning to switch to a math major, I am leaning towards CS. And I'm looking forward to my first semester as a new brother, of COURSE! Rhapsody in Blue and Gold #13 MA Spring '02 Alpha Phi Omega |
Tennis!
hey dieusaxa5,
Tennis, how fun! I had that both semesters last yr. But for us it was considered a PE credit. In the fall I had it at 10:30am and this spring it was at 8:55am!! Never take it as your first class. Bad news. LOL. 10:30 was bad enough....Tennis is fun though Have fun playing!:) |
hehe, I never have the same schedule as when I first registered for them last semester. So, assuming I don't change classes again, here is my fall semester schedule:
Intro to Political Science Methods (3) History on Film (3) 19th Century Europe (3) Theatre Appreciation :D (3) Intro to Media Systems (3) New Jersey Politics (3) |
This semester is going to be a tough one for me, but I'm determined to succeed!
Here's the classes I'm taking: Hearing Science Normal Language Acquisition Sign Language I Psychology Statistics Phonological Disorders |
Tennis Rocks
Hello Tink16!
I'm planning on taking tennis over the entirety of next year, myself. Fortunately, the next level class occurs later--that is, Tennis II is at 10:15. I like that:D Were you a novice when you started the class? How well do you play now? Perhaps in a year I can challenge you--I've already got some matches back at home that are waiting when I finish this class;) Sheesh, you had tennis that early in the morning? Well, I'm sure it was not totally bad. It really is cool to get a workout of any form in the morning, and it really can put a very positive spin on the rest of your day. At least it can for me:p Question: are you into racquetball too? and what school do you attend? I have always been a fan of the PE requirement in schools, so of course that means I attend one without the req ::shrug:: |
I'm only taking 13 hours b/c I have so many credits from AP classes and summer classes thats all I need to take :) Plus i'm going to be sooo busy with my activities this year. |
Next semester is going to be a busy one for me. I am taking 19 credit hours. My classes go as follows.
Social Dance (1) German 302 (3) Chem 100 (3) Hist 151 (3) (world Civ) Hist 202 (3) (us post 1877) Pols 130 (3) Edpsych 390 (3) Seems like alot, but I am sure that I will do ok. The Chem class is just a lecture becuase it is basic so I dont have to worry abo0ut making it to class and then to a lab or anything. The other stuff is pretty easy for me because most of it has to do with my major or minor. :) Good luck in the fall everyone. |
Ugh. I totally hate thinking about this semester--I think it's going to kill me.
Income Taxation (4) YUUUUUUUCCCKKKKK Estate & Gift Tax (3) Not as bad as the above... Evidence (4)..should be interesting, but I'm taking the "easy" prof. Employment Law (2) - scary prof (think "Paper Chase"), but interesting subject Jewish Law (2)- my one fun class-taught by a Mormon... Insurance Law (2) - No idea what to expect...figure I should know the subject. I am not excited about taking 17 hours of law courses...fortunately, my evidence prof doesn't take roll, and his exams are based on a class script that everyone has...so I will teach that one to myself. On top of all this--I will be working 15-20 hours a week at a local title company/law firm, and oh--did I mention I have kids? EEEEEKKKKK!!!!! |

Linguistics 401H- Intro to Syntax, 3cr Linguistics 414- Intro to Phonetics, 4cr Greek 126- Intensive Ancient Greek I, 6cr Yum yum yum.....I'm trying to get into a special seminar on Sanskrit too- it can't be a real semester for me unless I'm taking at least two dead languages. |
Macroeconomics
Spanish 102 Business Communications Business Statistics 1 Accounting 1 On top of this I will be very active in Student Senate on my campus, I will also be the president of my class, and starting a fraternity. I think I will be very busy this fall, but I am always up for a challenge! |
