2nd date clothing advice
:) am panicking!!
lol had INCREDIBLE date last night--- I know, I know, its amycat saying that, i know its unbelievable. so 2nd date is tomorrow. he's cooking for me... what do I wear? Black pants out, wore those last night AND at the party I met him at last weekend. Don't want to be too slinky/easy access clothing--WAY TOO SOOn for that, and w him cooking for me, too many opportunities for that to be an issue--- SO WHAT DO I WEAR??? :) |
Wear jeans and a cute/semi-sexy top. Jeans are casual enough because I'm assuming ya'll will be at someone's house doing the cooking. And a smi-sexy top will bring a bit of dressy to the jeans.
Thisis what I do instead of studying for my test. But you go Amy!! :D I hope it goes well!! |
I agree with ChiOJenn. Jeans and a cute top would be great.
|
I agree with the other two posts. Also a cute pair of capri pants and a cute top would work too. Congrats on having a great date!!! Hopefully this 2nd one will be just as awesome!!! Keep us updated!

We want updates!! Congrats!!!
|
comfortable pajama pants,
comfortable flip flops, and a comfortable t-shirt. a baseball cap would be a nice touch. |
If my input isn't too late...
How about a nice pair of khaki slacks...capri....with some dressy/casual black sandals and a black top...sleevless...silver jewelry? Hootie |
What about a nice sundress? Something summery and girly. It'd be different than the black pants you wore the other 2 times you saw him.
|
Thanks everyone! I've got it narrowed down (he just called to chat and confirm since he'd started making the marinara sauce from scratch!)
Sundress--would love to, but they don't look the least bit demure or casual on me. :) The nominees are: --Long black skirt (express) and strappy sage lt blue and black striped tank --black capris and v neck sleeveless black sweater w garnet, sage and creme stripes (capris are too big on me tho) --red capris and black ribbed sleevless polo (again, capris are too big) --low rise jeans and a&f aqua t that laces up at the top --reg jeans and orange plaid halter top --low rise jeans and aqua top in first place at the moment. :) And silver jewelry is a must. :) |
The red capris and black sleeveless polo sound classy, AmyCat! Two powerful colors and classic lines. But do wear what's comfortable. :)
|
:) Yes, I love the red capris, just don't think tailor can take them down two sizes tomorrow. :) And I don't want to hold em up all night, so I'm thinking--take em in to be sized and wear them on a 3rd or 4th or ??? date. :) hee hee
|
good luck!
Oooh... I think you're on the right track with the low rise jeans and aqua top. The key is to be casual and comfortable.
And on that note: I'd advise wearing shoes you can casually kick off. It'll be much easier to get comfy with him out the couch afterwards. |
I vote for Jeans and the aqua top!! i personally love jeans, and they can be dressed up with jewelry and great hair, besides, with marinara sauce, you risk a chance of spillage so don't wear something too light in color, just in case.
Good luck, and let us know how it goes!:) |
LOL, ok girls put a LOT more thought into things like second dates than boys do . . although the choice of making dinner for someone for the second date is interesting.
|
I'm with ChiOJenn78
Have fun on your date :D |
Thanks everyone!!
I did the jeans and aqua a&f top and it was 100% the right call! fun and flirty and shows off tan midriff! lol date #2 was most excellent!!!!!! :D Amy |
I'm happy to hear the date went good...the perfect outfit makes a great date even better!!!
But we need some date details...fill us in on everything! :) |
:) MOST EXCELLENT EVENING made better my multiple phone calls from him the next day. :)
He made me dinner and OMG was so amazingly good. We are both great cooks, its pretty funny, there's no reason to go to restaurants, we both prefer our own cooking. ha ha ha hee hee |
I'm glad everything went well for the second date and that you two have so much in common...especially the cooking part (HOW COOL IS THAT?).
Hootie;) |
:) Date 3 is Wednesday. I am cooking for HIM. :)
NOW what do I wear? LOL |
Rock on Amy!! I am glad your second date went so well!! :D
|
Congrats on the 2nd date....Hmmm! We'll help out for the 3rd date!
|
YAY for Amy!!!! :D :D
|
Yep...low rise jeans w/the aqua top. The low rise always does the trick..for added effect..add a thong. *nods* It's a sure thing..that's how I got my guy..LOL :D
|
3rd date clothing advice!
:D
Ok, date #3 is tomorrow(wednesday). I am cooking for him. Pan Seared Filet Mignon in a cabernet Sauce Garlic Chive mashed potatoes Traditional Greek Salad (tomatoes, Cucumbers, Greek Olives, green onions, feta tossed in extra virgin olive oil and red wine vinegar--NO lettuce) Appetizer is diced tomatoes, roquefort cheese and candied pecans drizzed w basalmic in lettuce cups. SO WHAT DO I WEAR?????? |
LOL, just jewelry? Sorry couldn't resist, girls have to have a hell of a body to pull off the just jewelry look . . .
But seriously, do you have a dress that is somewhere between something casual and formal? Preferably black? But still comfortable to hang out in? Sundresses are mostly blah, I have met very few guys that think sundresses are anything less than frumpy. In lieu of all that, how about a nice skirt and blouse combo? Throw in some black stockings. Casual but very sexy would be a nice combo, but I admit to having little fashion sense. |
I think I could pull off just jewelry ;) but its way too soon for that! ha ha
Well, its hotter than hell and the outfits you suggest are great--and totally something I'd wear out to dinner--but in? Trying to achieve a few things-- Casual but not too casual--ie; Denim mini ok, denim shorts not. Show off the bod a bit more but still be classy. Try to survive the heat--I live in a classic 1930s apt--w NO AC!!! :( Not have any awkward clothing moments--ie: i always end up, after dinner and wine, sitting on the floor in front of my stereo playing DJ Amy ... denim mini not good for that. :) OH, and can almost guarantee he'll be wearing button down and shorts.... |
I don't have any great clothing suggestions but I just had to say DANG that's one heck of menu you have planned. My specialities are stupid things like quesadillas meanwhile you could open a restaurant.
|
Good Luck with date number 3!! Post the details!
|
Amy, how was your date? What did you wear? Is he the guy with the brother in NYC? I need a vicarious thrill! :p
|
Great menu. If I buy, will you cook? I hope it went well. Date 4 clothing selection to come? How about a two piece outfit? Slippers?
|
