Atlanta Conference
Just wanted to know what girls are going to the Atlanta leadership conference in a few weeks!
|
I'm going to the Salt Lake one this weekend. I'll let you know what happens and what to expect!
(PS I am sooo excited to be going! I'm never flown before, and I get to meet a ton of new Pi Phi's! :)) PPL, Erin |
good luck at conference Erin! :) I can't wait to hear all about it!
PPL, Jess |
Wow! I haven't been around a lot and have a ton of catching up to do...
...but I'll be in Atlanta with two of our chapter exec. I'm the lone alum going that I know of but I don't care. I've yet to make it to Convention so this is the next best thing! |
Cherub,
I'll be in Atlanta as an AAC member also! I'll bet I can find you as the lone alumna from Toronto in the AAC sessions! Erin - you'll have a wonderful time! Be sure to take lots of good notes and go with goals of things you want to bring your chapter ideas about. Hillangel - ditto on the good notes and goals! Plus be sure to get your rest BEFORE the LSem. We keep busy! |
I just want to say that I had a blast at the Leadership Seminar!I'm not going to spoil what all goes on, but I think those going to the Atlanta seminar will be pleasantly surprised by the changes going on in Pi Phi. This weekend was also a great time to meet new sisters and become even more motivated. I did take a lot of notes, and I plan to use some of the ideas to help improve our pledge program. If you're going to the next LSem remember to bring shoes! We had to do a lot of hiking. :) (Hey, it's nice exercise. :))
PPL, Erin |
OMG, three of y'all going to Atlanta! We have to meet while you're here!
|
AACAngel - You're right, I should be very easy to find. I'm escorting the ladies from Ontario Gamma (Guelph) and our prez decided to book the flights at 7am, so I'll probably be the first one there as well! She wants to get some shopping in before LSem starts...hopefully we can get rid of our bags before we head out on the town.
carnation - Come on down to LSem! I don't know how much time we'll have free...from the looks of the schedule they sent we're tied up Friday 4-10, Sat 7-10ish and Sun 7-11:45. Woohoo! Has it been as hot in Atlanta as it's been in Toronto? The last four days we've been at 43 celsius (107 F) Wasting time in school, cherub |
Dear Cherub,
It's been about ninety degrees--with strong afternoon thunderstorms--this week. I'm gonna check my schedule! Y'all are at Emory, right? Are those meetins 7-10 PM or AM? |
If they're 7-10 am I'm not showing up!

Saturday 8am - 1pm - Meetings 1-2pm - Lunch 2-5:15pm - Meetings 7-9pm - Awards Banquet 9 - ? - Province Get-Togethers Sunday 8-11:45am - Meetings 11:45 - checkout hope this helps! looks like we have some time Saturday before banquet. I'm looking forward to meeting all the Pi Phi GC's. Anyone else coming that we haven't heard from yet? In Pi Phi |
That's so cute! You're having a big cookie shine at the convention? How incredibly Pi Phi! (Yum, I could go for one right now!)

Yup, there will be a HUGE cookie shine at the next LSem. Ours was really cute, and it gave us a chance to learn some new songs that IN Gamma didn't know.
I also would like to say that during the LSem you get to meet the new TGC's! Oh they are wonderful! I will warn you Atlanta LSem gals...there is a four hour long workshop on that Saturday. It's long but definitely worth it! PPL, Erin |
I'm all over learning songs!
There are a few alum that know songs, but our chapter is kinda useless in the singing department (for any On Gammas reading this, I love ya but you gotta admit it's true!) Our last cookie shine was at our first ever parents day. It was supposed to be for the parents but we didn't give them enough room (the event was in an unofficial chapter house and we weren't expecting such a great turnout) so we did it ourselves. Y'know, sometimes I miss being an active and getting to do all the fun Pi Phi stuff. I shoulda joined in first year and not waited till third! |
Oh my gosh, I just looked at RowdySister's chapter's link and got all teary-eyed thinking about some of the songs. And how about "One, Two, Three Words"? I need to go to a chapter and sing!
Cherub, it looks like you guys don't have a lot of space in your schedule for visitors!:( |

You know what song is ALWAYS in my head? Our candlelighting song! |
Time does seem a little tight, which is typical as I understand it...I'm not sure if it's going to be possible to do a GC meet and greet
I also have no idea when everyone else from GC is arriving. I know ON Gammas are the first ones there and the last to leave (since our flight doesn't take off till 7pm Sunday night). I'm looking forward to adding to the Pi Phi memorabilia. I think it's time for a new t-shirt and maybe officer dangles. Glad the Canadian dollar is climbing up!:D |
Cherub,
If you want Pi Phi stuff than make sure to visit Pi Phi Express when you first get there! I was really impressed by the new stuff they have. I especially liked the Pi Phi chapstick, kleenex, and nail files. :D |
Pi Phi chapstick??? Now THAT I gotta see :D
Somehow Pi Phi kleenex just doesn't do it for me...doesn't it seem kinda weird to be blowing your nose with your letters? Maybe it's just me! |

Does anyone want to share some stories about LSEM? I had the privledge of attending convention last year and LSEM the year before since they were both in Denver. I'm sad that I missed all of the excitement this year. I remember that LSEM two years ago focused on our new alcohol policy, did they have a focus this year? I feel so out of the loop now that I'm not an active...:(
|
So how did the Atlanta LSem go? I'm anxious to hear details! :)
Angelic, At the Salt Lake LSem we focused mainly on our founding values. I know we mainly talked about how we can bring our values into our new member program and recruitment. I think it's an awesome idea, and I can't wait to bring new ideas to my chapter! PPL, Erin |
Erin,
Atlanta LSem was amazing but exhausting! I love the new direction the fraternity is heading. The only downside of the weekend was when it POURED while we were all on our way to banquet. There were RIVERS of water flowing down the road, everyong was soaked and then we got to sit in an over air-conditioned hall for two hours. Not quite my idea of fun but good for stories! |
Good Times
Hey Erin and fellow Pi Phi's,
I have to agree with you that LSem in Salt Lake City was a BLAST!!! Everyone has to admit that Sis Mullis is the cutiest!!! I was so worried about going by myself at first but after going to LSem and meeting so many wonderful ladies, I was so glad that I went! I am totally looking forward to Convention next year!! I got caught in Denver, delayed for like 5 hours thus I got a free round ticket from United Airlines to be redeemed within a year!! So I am totally looking forward to Anahiem! My Chapter is receiving the values workshop next month. I'm really excited about it. Should go over quite well. I'll let you all know how well my ladies hold up after 4 hours. And I was fortunate to meet all the new TGC's. Who ever you are getting, they are a great bunch of gals. Hope everyone had as great of a time as I did at LSem and hopefully I might meet some of you at Convention next year!! |
I definitely plan on going to Convention!! I just loved meeting everyone, and I think convention will be 10x better.
UA Angel, by any chance were you held over in Denver with a girl named Alison from IN Gamma? She was held over there for 9 hours (approx.) and basically missed the entire first day. Sis is the greatest! It's silly, but I almost dropped to the floor when she hugged me! I really do admire the amount of spunk she has! I hope our Values Workshop goes over well in my chapter. I'm just not sure when it'll take place. PPL, Erin |
