Things you don't want to see in public

I was in a Bus today and I saw the driver picking his nose. Arrrrgh!

Dionysus 06-20-2002 01:37 PM

VOMIT!

Well...I don't want to see that in private either.

jonsagara 06-20-2002 02:20 PM

Back in high school, our baseball team was riding the bus to an away game. About 45 minutes into the trip, cruising along Highway 50, I looked out the right side of the bus... and saw the most disturbing thing ever:

Some dude had porn spread all over his dash, the passenger seat, the steering wheel, and the floorboards, and he was sitting there whacking it.  WTF? I don't know how he didn't crash.

AggieDZ 06-20-2002 02:39 PM

diaper-changing in public---- I mean out in the OPEN!

AOX81 06-20-2002 02:58 PM

When I was 17 I went to Quebec and there was a couple that was having sex in a very public area. I don't care to see that again...

Now, that is something I am a little curious about seeing.

They were NOT very attractive people and they were right next to a very busy road.

rswall 06-20-2002 03:10 PM

One thing that grosses me out is when someone (usually an older man) cleans out his ears with his keys- a pocket knife, etc. Yuck.

Another is when someone blows their nose by holding one nostril and blowing so that "snot" flies onto the ground and then they repeat it with the other nostril. I'd rather see them use their sleeve to wipe their nose!

kddani 06-20-2002 03:37 PM

there must be something about buses that attract wackos...
We were on a band trip in high school driving to Toronto. I think this was while we were still in NY state. Pickup truck driving steadily right beside our bus. Dirty guy with pants off on the seat behind it, whacking it with one hand and driving with the other. Yes the little old ladies on the bus (a couple people's grandmas, chaperoning) almost had a heart attack. The rest of us thought it was about the funniest thing ever!

Peaches-n-Cream 06-20-2002 05:56 PM

Mastering one's domain on public transportation is fighteningly common.

THAT IS FREAKING SICK!!!!

XOBear 06-20-2002 06:07 PM

I saw on OLD woman picking her nose on the road. Like totally into it. Very unbecoming of an old chick!

gphi2k2 06-20-2002 06:13 PM

I was on the subway going to down town Toronto, and an older lady was actually clipping her toe nails!!! The clippings were flying everywhere. It was SOOOOOOOOOOO disgusting.

Question...does anyone understand why ANYONE would ever use a hankerchief to blow their nose? My last boss used one and I just don't get it. You use it once, and it's dirty. So you stuff it in your pocket, and then use it again????

I agree. You would be walking around with boogers in your front pocket all day!

Peaches-n-Cream 06-20-2002 07:04 PM

Steve Martin said the same thing about hankies in the movie "Grand Canyon." :D Actually he said something about wiping stuff all over your face.:p

ZTAngel 06-20-2002 09:13 PM

The other day, I was at the mall and there was this woman sitting on one of the benches breast-feeding her baby. There's a time and place for everything. The mall is not the time nor the place to breast-feed a baby!

AlphaGam1019 06-20-2002 09:27 PM

OMG- on a road trip back to Atlanta one evening, a friend and I spotted a car on the freeway with it's cab light on...the driver was an obese man with his shirt off...and upon further observations, he had a porno mag spread open on his steering wheel!! Unfortunately, we couldn't speed away cause we were pulled over and ticketed a few miles before. :o

SSS1365 06-20-2002 09:51 PM

I really hate to see people making out in public. I was at the DMV one day last week, and there was this couple there in the waiting area totally making out for like 5 minutes! I was like GET A ROOM, this is the DMV for crying out loud!

And then on one other occasion, not only did I see a couple with their tongues down each other's throats, but the guy wasn't wearing a shirt and the girl kept picking scabs and stuff on his back! SO gross!

I was eating a hot dog when I read this. :(

Dionysus 06-20-2002 10:12 PM

BAWAHAHAHA! :D

I learned a long time ago to never eat while on the internet nor watching TV.

My grandfather does this. It is VERY, VERY disgusting to me! Ew! I'm grossed out even thinking about it.

A wierded out school administrator checking for thongs.

James 06-22-2002 01:56 PM

Yeah, but if we were 15 year old boys, that might be the highpoint of our adolescent careers.

A different population of boys would go out for Thong Patrol versus hall monitor. ;)

Yeah I don't like big hairy but cracks showing either. Or even the styles that show underware. Pull up your pants boy!

Oddly enough, in a fit of double standard, I don't mind when pretty girls have visible things or whatever.

This isn't something that I saw per se, but... I was once on an airline flight where there was a man with a small baby a couple of rows away. This baby's diaper needed changing something fierce, and everyone within 5 rows knew it, except for her father. Dad had plenty of opportunity to take the baby into the lavatory and change her. Maybe he figured diaper changing was women's work. (I didn't see any sign of a mother.) So my lucky fellow passengers and I got to breathe the sweet smell for around an hour and a half. At least it wasn't a transcontinental flight

Hootie 06-22-2002 03:51 PM

When you work in a mall for a full day you get used to seeing the weirdest of things...and often things you'd rather not see again...

For instance, men, women, children wearing clothes that are too tight/revealing. That's just wrong. Like I'll be minding my own business, daydreaming, and then all of the sudden I'll catch sight of some person's ass halfway haning out their shorts...or some girl's chest almost falling out. I don't care if it's a skinny or fat person...it's all the same to me...cover yourself!

I was also grossed out when I was walking next to the pretzel place the other day and the new girl at the register was waiting to take a customer's order and she was sticking her tounge out, playing with her tounge ring....you probably have an idea of what I'm talking about. How unprofessional. Keep your piercings in your mouth at least until your done working. No one ordering pretzels wants to take a look at the gaping hole in your tounge.

That's about all I can say for now...the rest I've already seen too...mother's breastfeeding at the mall, changing diapers, vomit....

You guys should have said something. Not only is feces a health hazard, but that baby probably got a terrible diaper rash as a result of having feces squished between the diaper and their bumcheek skin for an hour and a half (which to me, is bordering on child abuse, for a parent not to change a diaper in a timely manner [which to me is within 20 minutes of the "smell test").

Also, you could have summoned a stewardess to make this request directly to the man too, if you didn't want to do it youself....that's what they're there for......

CutiePie2000 06-22-2002 04:33 PM

I have to say that the "breastfeeding in public" posts are making quite angry. There is nothing sexual about this, and breast milk is a helluva healthier too than formula.

What's more, I would rather see a woman quietly breastfeeding her baby in the mall, than having to listen to the baby SCREAMING LOUDLY from hunger.

And I would never advocate that a woman breastfeed her baby in the mall bathroom either...would YOU want to eat your meal in a place that smelled like poo-poo?

Jody 06-22-2002 05:09 PM

I have two small daughters and I breast fed. When my children got hungry in public , I WENT TO THE CAR! If a woman doesn want to walk to her car she should COVER HER BREAST! Geez, women who breast feed in public think they have just discovered something. I'm glad they are providing their children with healthy nutrition, I just have no desire to view their naked breasts.

MUPhiMuKHap 07-07-2002 04:32 PM

Yuck....

A few things i just hate are:

-Men with hair chests/backs walking around in public or driving with no shirts on..........I *HATE* body hair....eww eww eww........men with neck hair that comes out of their shirts grosses me out too, but whatever....
-I also hate seeing people kissing or having sex anywhere......public placs are esp. bad.......but I can't even watch it on TV
-I also can not STAND to see people driving with their feet hanging out the window.......ick, i hate feet enough as it is.....there is NO need to see them while I'm trying to drive on I-70....yuck

ThetaGirl1997 07-07-2002 04:42 PM

One day at the laundromat, I watched two women pull out hand mirrors and tweezers and pluck their chin hairs.

I work in a restaurant, and we have this couple who are regulars. They come in almost every night and sit at the bar. They ALWAYS end up groping and kissing each other. At the bar!! It's bad enough to do that at your own private table, but at the bar?!?!?! And they are NOT attractive people.

I also can't stand to see fat women in clothes that don't fit. Some people were not meant to wear tank tops and spandex.

In response to the breastfeeding issue, I agree that it's a perfectly natural, non-sexual thing, but it doesn't need to be done in the middle of the mall. At least find a quiet corner, or as Jody said, go to the car.

ChiOJenn78 07-07-2002 04:53 PM

People who change their baby's diapers out in public. YUCK!! One night we were all at Mr.ChiOJenn's parents house and we were having dessert in the living room. All of a sudden, his sister in law just decides to change the baby's loaded diaper on the living room floor. I was like-come on!! We're eating here!

Other things I don't like to see:
-people with their tongues shoved down each others throats n public
-people wearing tight clothes when they shouldn't
-people on motorcycles who don't wear helmets-that drives me crazy!! do you really want brain damage if you wreck??

Ditto..okay, no disrespect meant by this at all ladies, cuz lord knows i am definately not like a size 2 or anything..but spandex is a privilege, not a right

Kevin 07-07-2002 05:00 PM

I used to work in a mall... I thought I'd seen it all til I read this.

I always thought breastfeeding in public was tacky... People would change their children's diapers on the benches right in front of my store! They'd throw them away in the regular trashcans...

Disgusting.

I don't think anyone can argue with disliking plumber's crack. Some people just need to make an investment in a belt.

Your post is somewhat true but there is a time and a place for everything. For instance last week we were waiting for the fireworks to start, there was a couple in front of where we were sitting that was joined by another couple and their young child. The woman sat down and promptly pulled out her entire breast for the entire crowd to view and then procedded to sit on my roommates foot as she sat down she was so close to us, no blanket over her chest, no shirt half over her nothing. IT WAS DISGUSTING. Some people

Starlet 07-08-2002 12:29 AM

A few years ago, my friends and I were walking down the street and we heard the sound of running water or something similar to it. We looked into the alley in between these two buildings, and there was an old woman sqatting there going to the bathroom. We were quite surprised and ran away laughing. Oh, and ditto on making out in public... I hate when I see couples with their tounges down their throats out in random places. No one wants to see that!

On the flip side, I can't stand to see skeletally thin people in revealing clothing. Put some clothes on and GO EAT A SANDWICH!!!
