Why is it that every lady wants to be an AKA. Why is it that not every woman can be an AKA. Why is it that AKA is a Skeeeeerious Matter . Why is it that our Soror Ethel Hedgeman Lyle was truly blessed with a divine inspiration. Why is it that I love my AKA. Why is it, Soror AKA2D, that I don't know what sky you're looking at, but when I look up, all I see is a blazing Pink sky with little green clouds. Why is it that my sorors are phenomenal women. One day an SGRHO arrived in heaven and God greeted her at the gate and welcomed her into her new home. God led her to a blue track home with a gold roof that was surrounded by pretty poodles. The SGRHO knew she was in heaven and was so pleased. The next day a ZETA arrived in heaven and God greeted her at the gate to take her new home. He brought her to a cute white ranch stylehome with a blue roof that had doves flying all around and even stained glass pictures of doves in the windows. The ZETA loved it and thanked God and went in to enjoy her new home. The next day a Delta arrived in heaven and God greeted her and took her to her cream mansion with a crimson roof. There were beautiful elegant elephants roaming around the yard and the Delta loved it! Then the Delta looked up the mountain and saw sitting on a its peak the most beautiful palace she had ever seen! This PINK palace had a GREEN roof and running beautifully up the palace was lush Ivy. In the driveway GREEN Mercedes and BMW`s with PINK leather interior were parked. ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA was elaborately written across the front of the palace. The Delta got all steamy and shouted, "WHY DO THE AKAS" have that huge palace!!That`s not fair. God turned to her and said, "Sister girl, that`s MY house"!! Skeeeeee-Weeeeeee! |

why is it that I talk to my LS's almost everyday? Why is it that my baby's god mother is My LS? Why is it that my mother is also my soror? Why is it that I still sing " When cares of the world ov'r take us and our locks are turning gray..." (especially at New Year's)? Why it that the lullaby that my mother sings to my baby starts of with "Through the years..."? Why is it that my baby stops crying when she hears it? Why is it....
... I look so pretty in my pink shirt and heels today. ... Every pen, sticky notes, cup, highlighter, stapler,calculator, paper clip on my desk is either pink or green ... that you can pick an AKA out of a crowd ... ... I'm proud to tell the world, I GOT MY PEARLS!! ... I'm exhausted, yet elated ... I am able to call my best friend SOROR! ... I couldn't stop smiling when my aunt and cousins called me Soror ... Los Angeles may be out of anything PINK and GREEN shortly ... I can't stop smiling ... I'm inspired to get crafty again ... While shopping for crafts, my line sister and I had the Michael's salesperson wait 10 minutes (at closing time) while we seriously discussed which pink paint marker was closest to Salmon Pink :-) ... I'm hoarse from singing ... I still can't stop ... I LOVE my line name ... I feel like I've known my line sisters forever ... I am looking forward to going to Alaska :-), even though it conflicts with my five year college reunion (Spelman '94) |
In case anyone bothered to do the math, you realized I made a mistake with the year I graduated. I graduated from Spelman in 1998!
