Eminem
Eminem. I love him. I want him. He is just so gorgeous. His lyrics, offensive yes. But if you don't like his music, then don't listen. He creates fun feuds between people. While other rappers are keepin up the West Side/East Side battle, Marshall is tearing apart Fred Durst, Britney Spears, Christina Imawhora, and others. Some choose to playfully battle back, but u see no blood or tears. I think one day it'll come to the point where if you're part of pop culture music and ur not mentioned in one of his songs, u'd feel left out....just like how actors have commented about Saturday Night Live about their skits. Eminem, I love u. Your songs about ur daughter are just the cutest. I'm listening to you right now.
Ok....that was my random rant about Eminem.... anyone care to join? |
I used to be a pretty big fan of him. Now, he's becoming so-so. He tries too hard. He makes sooo many shocking lyrics and comments that they are starting to lose it's shock value. You know, kind of like the Jerry Springer Show. Sometimes using a little constraint will do good. :D
Also, he needs to broaden his horizons, and not just limit most of his bashing to pop artists. |
I like Eminem. I think his lyrics are funny. I can see why people could be offended by him, but like anything else, if you don't like it, try to ignore it. I don't understand all these activists that try to censor him...all they're doing is giving him more publicity and record sales.
Side note: Is he dating Britney Murphy? |

I also share your love of Eminem. In fact, my nickname is Slim Shaedy. I cannot wait for the Anger Management tour to hit Tampa...I'm trying to drag someone along, because most of my friends think he's too obnoxious!
Bittany Murphy was going crazy during his performance at the MTV Movie Awards, but they didn't walk in together or anything, so I wonder if they're going out or not. Maybe she's just a big fan! |

From what I've heard, they are dating. Can u see them together tho? She looked retarded (scuse the non-PC word). I also see her as the Clueless girl, but moreover I see her as the psychotic girl in Girl, Interrupted. |

I like the Beastie Boys better! :D

I like Eminem on and off, but I would have preferred it if the camera had stayed on Brittany Murphy during his performance at the MTV Movie Awards b/c she was outta control! It was fun to see her enthusiasm...

flow
I think Eminem is incredibly talented and I really dig his flow. As a poet, I respect him.
Plus, he's so little, you gotta love him. |
I really like Eminem. I don't think his music is offensive at all. I just finished an argument with someone at work who doesn't like him. I'm sure you can imagine her views...
Anyway, all I can say is just because someone writes a song that includes violence it doesn't mean that they are expressing their true feelings. Where the heck do you think movies come from? Not all movies are based on real events...it's called using your imagination. You don't see movies with rape and murder turning away people and the movie theaters and you don't hear much fuss about it either. So what's the difference if you are listening to it or watching it? I think Eminem is an excellent song writer and singer and I look forward to more albums in the future. I just bought the latest CD last week and the song with his daughter in it is funny. "I think my dad's gone craaazy." My favorite song is #4, Cleanin Out My Closet. |
LOVE HIM...GOT THE CD....IT ROCKS.....AND THATS IT!!!!

I agree and AOX makes a great point about the movie thing. I only have one CD, The Eminem Show, but I like all the songs on there. My fave is "My dad's gona crazy" cuz Haley's voice is the cutest thing, and I really like Cleanin out my Closet, cuz I think everyone does that at least once in their life. This CD makes u realize that he is a normal guy and not really bad, and what I really like about it is that it shows how much he loves his daughter.

*bump*
I love Eminem. I'm like "Biggest Fan" material over here. That said, I went to the kickoff show of Anger Management 3 in Indy day before last (Thursday). *Happened* to have pit tickets....*Happened* to weasel my way into VIP*....*Happened* to be at the very front of the pit... *Happened* to reach up at the stage and... Touch. Eminem. Repeatedly!!!!!!! I haven't been the same since...Still on like a solid high. [Although it was also fabulous that I got to touch all of D12 except Bizarre...And Stat Quo...And Lil Jon...And all of the Eastside Boys but one....and LUDACRIS!!!! *Sigh*....Off to listen to more Em. |

One night we went to this Wayne State Greek Week thing that a fellow GCer had invited me and my girls to. A few of my girls were hanging out in the VIP and we were wondering why. They wanted to stay because they sketchy guys told them that they were setting up VIP for Eminem and crew. I had a final the next day adn my friend felt sick, so we told them to take a cab adn that we were leaving, blah blah, Eminem wasn't really coming these guys just wanted to hang out with you. Welllll I guess as we were walking out, Em was walking in the back door. WTF. My girls hung out with them all night. Obie Trice was giving one of my girls lap dances and hitting on her. They went back to White Boy's house that night and hung out. They've partied at Eminem's house here in Clinton Township. Then they were told about Obie's Got Some Teeth video and went down. You can clearly see one of my sisters in it. THEN liek a month ago I found out one of our new members was in the video too. She was the cab driver at the end and he goes home with her and she's laying in the bed with him. Funny shit. |
While I think his earlier albums were his best work, he's still better most of what's passed off as hip-hop these days.
Oh yeah, and, Em, thanks for ruining Benzino's life with "Nail in The Coffin." That guys bugs the shit out of me. |

Eminem ready to quit: report
Last Update: Saturday, July 16, 2005. 8:50am (AEST) Rap superstar Eminem plans to make the last solo performance of his career in Ireland in September, the Detroit Free Press, his home-town newspaper, reports. Citing sources close to the 33-year-old rapper, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, the daily said his current album, Encore, would probably be his last as he moves to full-time work as a record producer. Eminem's final solo appearance would be at a concert in Dublin on September 17, the Free Press said. The newspaper quoted Eminem's manager, Paul Rosenberg, as saying no official decision had been made about the future of the Grammy and Oscar-winning artist who is the best-selling hip-hop artist ever.
