Texas GC'ers: Get Together?
 

This is a random thought that just came across my mind:

Are there any Texas GC'ers interested in meeting up some time this summer? I was thinking the latter part of June. Any thoughts/ideas?

sounds good to me, I work every other weekend so I will be off 29/30-how about then?

Ooooh! Count me in! Where are we looking to meet? Centrally I'd assume.... So that would be Austin-ish?

I'm going to be gone a lot in July so I don't think I'll be able to take off a lot for work and GENERALLY I don't get the weekends off. But if there were a Sunday that yall wanted to meet on, I could do that. Don't plan around me though...you all pick a date and time and place and I'll see what I can do!

I think that the 29/30 of June sounds good. How does this work for everyone else? And yes, I was thinking the Austin area would be easiest to give everyone a chance to make it out there. :D Any ideas as to what we should do?

Its centrally located and would be fun. I am free any weekend with enough notice. We just have to convince the Houston and dallas kids to come. They'd have the longest drives. I am all about it tho.. :D

We could have dinner on the lake at the Oasis or Carlos and Charlies-sometimes they will have live bands on the weekends. What do ya'll like to do? There is Antone's which is a blues club. Many dance clubs. If you just want to chill there are plenty of bars downtown like Fados, an irish pub (my favorite bar). Just let me know.

I am all for it!! I am in San Antonio ( only during June)...then I will too be gone during July ( I will be out of the country)...so I think Austin during june is great. ;) What about the 21 or 22?

Well, I am only 20, so I do not think I will be able to get into any bars. :( It sucks! If we decided to get together after mid-October, I'd be able to get into the bars. ;) But anywho, we can hit some of the 18 & up clubs unless any of you know any of the bouncers at the bars. ;) J/K


Friday 21/Saturday 22 and Saturday 29/Sunday 30 have been suggested. I prefer a Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon. Austin is a 4 hour drive for me and I get out of work on Friday at 5:30 and go in Monday morning at 8:30. There is no getting out of work for me; doctor's office rules. :)

But whatever works best for everyone. Can everyone post what day and date that they would prefer, along with afternoon or evening, so that we can see what fits best for everyone. Thanks!

Sorry kids, but I get married next weekend and then it's a week of honeymoon cruise and then I will move and will no longer be a TX GC'er...I hope that you all have a fun and SAFE time whatever it is you decide to do.

i will be off the 29/30th, have to work the weekend of the 22nd. There are many places for 18 and up-can still enjoy the restaurants by the lake.

If we do it the weekend of the 21st, I can't make it!! I'm going home to Dallas that weekend, to visit my best friend who lives in NY-she's only home for that weekend!! What if we did it the weekend after??

It looks like most people are available Saturday the 29th. Now, meeting in Austin would be the best thing since it is centrally located. :) Everyone agree??

29th sounds good to me :)

I'll ask for the 29th off but if I can't get it off, I'll meet up with you all after 9 30! I love the Oasis and we could make reservations for us all. Then if we go to a few clubs we can go to the ones the minors can get in...I think Paradox allows minors in for a higher cover...but not 100% sure.
Anyways, that's just me...I will try to get the night off, if not I'll meet up with you all for sure!

Lifesaver: Yes, we do need to get the Houston people over! The distance between Houston and Austin is just as far as Corpus is from Austin. C'mon y'all!!

Oh you guys, I am so jealous!! Are you still doing it over the 29th? If so, I can't come...:( Mr. ChiOJenn is coming into town this weekend-he just moved to freaking North Carolina-and I haven't seen him in 2 1/2 weeks. I am so bummed!! :(

I am still up for this weekend. If peeps need to reschedule, thats cool too. I am pretty open. I am just unavailable the weeknds of Aug 9 &10. (Reunion :eek:) and the weekend of July 20. I'll be in Houston for the OAR concert on the 18 th and I am staying theweekend. :D

If I had gotten a definite yes earlier in the week, I could have rescheduled myself at work b/c I work Saturday evening. :( So now that it is already Friday, I can't reschedule myself. I am sorry!
