Who did you Pref?
I am bored so I was just wondering who y'all preffed during rush. I love hearing the reasons why someone chose the sorority they did since obviously the last two groups were special for some reason.

I preffed ADPi, of course :D , and Phi Mu. I had a lot of friends in Phi Mu so that's how I ended up choosing them for pref night. ADPi though, I didn't know anyone in ADPi. They impressed me a lot though. Their sisterhood was amazing. I am so glad that I ended up in Alpha Delta Pi. It was the best choice I could ever make!!!

I preffed chi o and APhi. I chose ADPi because I just felt like I belonged in the house, like all the girls really cared about each other. They were definately my favorite house on pref night.

i was cob'ed right after formal rush my freshman year, never even made it to informal rush so i didn't attend a 'pref' ceremony until the next spring (i missed out :()... but, i did get a random invite to another of the (slightly uninformed, lol) chapter's events during next fall's informal recruitment... haha i guess they just knew i never went through formal the previous spring and figured i was still a "free agent" if you will ;)

Pref night I was at Alpha Phi and Gamma Phi Beta, but really it was never a choice, I was truly an ADPi from the beginning.

When I started school, I was so sure that I was going to be a Kappa, that there is still a key on my bedroom wall at my parents' house! LOL I was a legacy, I was in the Kappa house before any of the classrooms, knew the housemother, and most of the sisters.
Then I met the ADPis. I cannot explain it to y'all, other than to say, I was home. We had an unusual rush at the time, and I remember an ADPi sister asking me, "I hear you're a Kappa legacy. Are you going to pledge us or not?" (How many fines would that cost NOW?!) I said - almost stammering! - "I want to, if I get a bid!" She said, "Oh, you'll get a bid all right, I'll make sure of it." Needless to say, I preffed Kappa and ADPi. I didn't know about suiciding until AFTER I signed the bid card, and I was on pins & needles all day, waiting to see if I got the right bid! I preffed Tri Delta, Kappa Delta and, of course, Alpha Delta Pi. It was a really tough decision for me because I was completely torn between Tri Delta and ADPi. Both are great chapters, but everything happens for a reason and I truly ended up in the right chapter for me.

I didn't go through formal recruitment. My story was that I was a transfer student and it was my second semster here. I wasn't really meeting anyone from my classes and most my friends we at the jc or at another college. I was looking to to meet more people. So I researched into clubs and organizations. At 1st I was like I will never be a sorority girl (I learned never say never). But as I researched the sororties more at their websites, I liked what I saw in Alpha Delta Pi. I knew that it was the only sorority I wanted to join. So I contacted them through the website. I got a whole bunch of email from the girls. I meet with 5 of them at the school's coffee place with 2 other girls (who later became sisters too) . We talked and they explained stuff. I was nervous cuz I was like what if they r too sorority girlish and plus i was shy. They had just had their Black Dimond Formal a week b4 and had picture to show. I could see how much they loved ADPi and wanted to show others what our sisterhood meant. I also liked how diverse they were, not ur cookie cutter sorority. They were truly genuine girls. I knew I picked the right sorority. So 2 weeks later I signed my bid and the rest is history......

I preffed...
I preffed at ADPi, Kappa Delta, and Pi Beta Phi. It was a tough choice between ADPi and KD, but at ADPi all the sisters seemed so close. Sisterhood is by far the most important aspect in our chapter and it shined through during the pref ceremony. I am just about to learn the "secrets" of rush and am so excited to participate and hopefully show other girls that home is where the heart is and my heart was at ADPi from day one!!!

ADPi and Tri-Delta, but I probably would have suicided ADPi if the university didn't highly highly advise against it (and because I was a sophomore going through formal rush and I was afraid of what might happen if I suicided)

I preffed Adpi & DG. I thought all week I was going to go DG. I even wrote in my little journal that I wanted to be a sailor girl and all that cute stuff. When push came to shove though I was blown away by Adpi's pref ceremony and the famous "Stranger Poem". I felt the sisterhood, and of course....having my name written on a piece of chocolate helped too!!;) My older sister was thrilled when I came through Adpi doors since she was an adpi too!

I didn't go through formal. But my roommate my first semester freshman year went Gam (Alpha Gamma Delta) and so did one of my suite mates so all I knew were Gams. Somehow I met some ADPis and didn't realise that I was going through COR until my aunt told me that I was (Her sister is and ADPi too). But ADPi felt like home and it still does. :D

If I had gone through rush as a freshman, I would have been a ZTA----I knew it. But because I waited until I was a junior, and went through open, I made the only choice that would have been right for me. ADPi was always the place for me, and even though ZTA was where I was sure I would go as a freshman, time changed my mind, and my heart for the diamonds of ADPi!!!!

ADPi and ZTA, knowing all along I wanted ADPi. I didn't know any ADPi's and went through as a sophomore. I worried all night about it. Luckily, one of my very best guy friends was very good friends with a lot of the ADPi's so I guess he talked to them and obviously they wouldn't tell him I got a bid, but instead that I shouldn't worry. He told me not to worry, so I didn't!:D Now, here I am!

I preffed ADPi and APhi. I would have preffed DZ as well, but they didn't informal the week after ADPi extended me a bid. I wouldn't change my decision for the world!

I went to school with 5 sororities. When it came down to pref, I went to ADPi and AGD. My best friend in the WHOLE world is a AGD and I really loved her and some of her sisters, but I just felt SOOO at home at ADPi and the girls were so amazing I just had to be there. I felt horirble not going AGD like my best friend did, but she understood and were still as close as before lol. :)

Yes we did one. Its wierd we never did one for spring after that. We did the whole spring dinner cause I remember Kappa had main course, AGD had salads, A Phi had soups, DG had desserts, so we had appetizers. Then they did a pref party that weekend. Each house had one. I went to AGD and ADPi for it. Both were nice, but ADPis blew me away.

I preffed (sp?) ADPi and DZ. ADPis pref was the most amazing thing I've ever seen though. It was funny b/c during the DZ pref, the girls on either side of me were both crying and I just felt like I had to fake it a little b/c I could see they had worked so hard on it. Then, when I got to ADPi there was no faking about it!

I went to DG and ADPi pref parties. I cried during the ADPi party, so that's how I knew where I belonged. And I'm NOT a big cryer either!

I went to ADPi and Gamma Phi. i was so moved during the ADPi party. there was such a loving and beautiful spirit in the room, that i could not refuse the voice inside of me that said, 'this is the one'.

awe ty Hannahgirl :) I'm sure that everything worked out in the best. Although we would have loved to have you as a sister, I'm sure that DG Is where your heart is and where you should be. :)

Just out of curiosity - and because I need to know, for an undisclosed reason! - how long was your Pref party, and how long was the "ceremony"?
