I would never eat that even if you paid me to!

What kinds of food do you not like?
I won't eat:
Fish
Lobster
Asparagus
Brussel Sprouts
Anything with pig

AGDLynn 05-26-2002 11:12 AM

Crawdads, eel, squid, chocolate insects.

33girl 05-26-2002 11:40 AM

Cheese curls and/or cheese popcorn. I honestly think I would eat chocolate covered ants before I ate these.

thesweetestone 05-26-2002 01:13 PM

Pork
Beef
Jello
Crawfish
Liver
Beets
Brussel Shouts
Cabbage

pbpck 05-26-2002 02:21 PM

Red Meat
Any shell fish or sea food aside from incredibly fresh salmon
Avacado
Beets

There are a lot of things that I don't like but I would eat them if you gave me enough money. My listed items, I know I would regurgitate. Sorry, that was a bit graphic.

dzsaigirl 05-26-2002 02:34 PM

The only things that I will NOT eat:

Capers
Circus Peanuts (those orange colored marshmallow thingies...they taste like a medicine I had to take when I was little that made me puke).

Things that I don't like the taste of, but will eat it if that's all there is:

Steak (I love beef, just not steak...I know, I'm a freak)
Cream Gravy (instant heart attack)
Crawfish (AKA: River Roaches)
Coffee
Parmesan Cheese (smells like vomit)

LeslieAGD 05-26-2002 03:19 PM

Any kind of seafood
Most vegetables (especially things like brocoli, brussel sprouts, beets, etc)
Hamburgers/Cheeseburgers
Anything cooked on a barbeque (yeah, I know, I'm strange)
Liver
Spinach

KillarneyRose 05-26-2002 09:49 PM

Cauliflower: the devil's vegetable

I WILL NOT eat cauliflower and it will NEVER, EVER, EVER be served in my home.

When my daughters spent the weekend with my mother, she said she served cauliflower for supper and they looked at it and asked her what it was. I'm not proud that there is a vegetable my children don't recognize but it will still never enter my house.

It looks like brains.

shopgirl 05-26-2002 09:54 PM

liver
asparagus
brussel sprouts
cooked spinach (raw only)
chopped meat...hamburgers, meatloaf, etc.
cooked broccoli (raw only)

stillwater15 05-26-2002 10:27 PM

just the smell of this stuff makes me sick to my stomach:

pigs feet
cows tongue
hog maws and chitterlings

i proudly state that i am the only person in my immediate family who hasn't and won't eat this stuff.

You aren't the only one. I used to chow down chitterlings until I realized what they were.
:p

amycat412 05-27-2002 01:21 AM

No Seafood of any kind
Brussel Sprouts
Cauliflower
Liver
Beets
Other assorted bizarre stuff like Ostrich, Buffalo, etc.
Ground Meats - its a texture thing
Eggs - alone, like scrambled, fried etc. Eggs in something, like a sauce or a cake is OK. Its a texture thing
Coconut
Asparugus
Hot dogs and most sausages ( i can once in awhile be persuaded to eat a pork sausage)
Sauerkraut

there is much much much more, I am a very picky eater. But this is a good list of NOT EVEN IF YOU PAID ME, there are other things that I don't like, but would eat without vomiting if you paid me. ha ha ha

And plenty of things I won't eat due to texture--like Onions and Green, Yellow and Red Peppers, but will cook with for the flavor they give and then discard them! LOL

SigkapAlumWSU 05-27-2002 04:07 AM

Cooked spinach
Eggs with runny whites ( I didn't eat eggs for 5 years until I distovered you can have them hard cooked)
Steak
Jalepano peppers (the smell makes me nautious)
Beef hot dogs
Pork Rinds (eww..)

But what are hog maws and chitterlings?

volgirl2376 05-27-2002 11:33 AM

Where o' Where to begin? I am notorious for being the pickiest eater among my friends.

Beans (any kind - to the point where I pick out the beans in chili)
Sauerkraut
Any country food like meatloaf, greens, grits, etc
Vienna Sausages
Mexican, Korean, Tai, or Indian food
Brussel Sprouts
Cauliflower
Peas
Meat in a jar
Liver, brains, lips, ears etc
Crawdads
Lean Cusine pizza
Pickled eggs
Cream Soda
Asparugus
Fish sandwhichs
Any kind of breakfast burrito
cottage cheese

Kevin 05-27-2002 12:26 PM

Basically I'm fine with everything EXCEPT something that is not normally thought as an edible part of an animal (well to me at least)
This includes anything like ears, toungues, hooves, internal organs, mouths or parts of the mouth, etc.
(although I will eat hot dogs which I understand are mostly made up of this stuff)

Other than that I'm basically open to anything =)

Chitterlings are pig intestines -- I learned that about 28 years ago, when I stopped eating them. Hog maws are the pig's stomach.

Dionysus 05-27-2002 12:44 PM

Beans
cabbage
cottage cheese
red meat
anything from a pig except bacon

I don't think hog maws and jaws are the same. :)
Bacon comes from the pig's flesh, while the maw is an organ meat.

I have always known about SH*TLINS -- they smell like SH*T so might as well call them what they are.

Hog maws, never knew, never knew, never knew and now that I do. . . http://www.plaudersmilies.de/puke.gifhttp://www.plaudersmilies.de/pukeface.gif

Oh Yeah!

I totally forgot Mayonnaise. I refuse to eat it. I can't even do the "scrape it off the bun" thing. I will, however, eat Miracle Whip.

And to whoever said they won't drink Dr Pepper, you have gotta be out of your mind! Dr Pepper is my main source of liquids! :)

I just don't like the taste of it. But, I agree with you about the caffiene part, that's what Mellow Yellow and Hansen's Energy drink is for! :D

Speaking of Mt. Dew, I saw an advertisement of BLUE Mt. Dew yesterday.

Like mt. dew, I just don't like the taste of it. Coincidently, I don't like any carmel colored soda.

Thanks for the info..... and you can add chitterlings and hog maws to the list of things I would never eat... even for money!

Ew!

#1 -- IMO Mello Yello tastes just like Mt. Dew.

#2 -- Blue Mt. Dew, gimme a dayum break. First we had red now blue. Are they trying to be the skittles of soft drinks.

#3 -- BOOO on Dr. Pepper. That stuff is YUCKY!!

dzsaigirl 05-27-2002 03:39 PM

Miracle Whip is not mayonnaise. It is technically called salad dressing and it tastes nothing like mayonnaise. It is tangy and sort of sweet tasting. Mayonnaise is flat, bland, eggy and nasty!

Lil_G 05-27-2002 04:07 PM

so many non-seafood eaters, what is wrong with you ladies ;)
mussels and squid i can understand, no lobster though?

The only thing i can think of right now is horseradish. That stuff is so damn gross.

KatieQ 05-27-2002 06:02 PM

Seafood
Peanut butter
Bacon
Sushi

YUCK

thesweetestone 05-27-2002 06:32 PM

Lima beans
Green peas
Eggs- yuck!!
Spam-Gross!!!
dark meat of chicken(I only eat the breast, I don't even want the wing.)

queequek 05-27-2002 06:36 PM

Yucky things ...

1. Seafood - shrimp, lobster, crab, etc (I'm allergic to those)
2. Olives (Yuck)

I love seafood - especially lobster (yummmmmmm), shrimp, oysters, crab legs, scallops, and salmon. :D

gphi2k2 05-27-2002 08:34 PM

I am SUCH a picky eater that there isn't enough room here to list everything I won't eat.
Here are a choice few:

Most meats (i'll have ground beef tho. it's pretty much that I won't eat anything that looks like what it once was....so, slabs of meat, fish that isn't chopped into tuna, beef that isn't ground, anything chicken...i won't touch).

LIVER (I realize that falls into the above category, but I wouldn't eat it if there was a gun pointed to my head, so I thought it deserved an honerable mention).

Any kind of seafood at all. I can't even smell seafood without feeling ill.
Brussel Sprouts (NASTY!)
Eggplant
Lima beans....well, really any kind of beans. But Lima are the worst!
Peas
Olives
Mushrooms
I can only eat eggs if they're not runny AT ALL. The slightest rawness in an egg makes me ILL
Those marshmello cookies that are covered in chocolate and have that yucky cherry jelly inside

And NEVER NEVER NEVER put ketchup on my Kraft dinner! SINNERS.

xok85xo 05-27-2002 09:44 PM

any type of bean except for greenbeans..i also pick them out of chili (which i dont really like either), or anything else that they might be in
olives
capers
pickled beets(regular beets are okay tho)
cooked fruit(like in pie or whatever..ew)
bananas
anchovies(unless they are chopped up and i can't see them)
any kind of internal organ(tripe, menudo..whatever)
mayonaise (unless its mixed in tuna fish or chicken salad or something..but even then it can't be too mayoie)
any kind of insect
oysters
rocky mountain oysters

greeklawgirl 05-27-2002 10:01 PM

Wow, I thought I was a picky eater, but I've got nothing on some of you!!! :p

I'm of the school where I will try anything once, but here's what I won't eat:

broccoli (smells just awful)
cauliflower (looks like brains!!!)
oysters and clams (too much like phlegm and too much opportunity to get ill)
"fishy" fish (salmon comes to mind)
sweetmeats like brain, tongue, liver, etc.

And YES, I have tried sweetmeats--even Rocky Mountain Oysters--and I don't like the texture of sweetmeats in my mouth. Its just plain weird.

But other than that, I'm pretty easy to please food-wise. :)
