Another badge on eBay! Item # 2105968294. Let's flood this seller with emails asking them not to sell it and return it to IHQ! The initial asking price is $100 and Buy It Now is $160 - someone is being very greedy. I hope no one bids on it!!!!

Do you think it's possible that this seller is a sister (or disgruntled member)? The first line of the item description sounds all too familiar to me. Also, the seller's email looks familiar...and I know I've seen it somewhere before.

OTW, what does her AOL profile say, if anything?

Sounds like it's an old badge though - didn't they stop inscribing the backs years and years ago? With the '25' engraved on it, maybe it's from 1925?

Hmm, actually, I just looked up the name on the badge at Sister Search, and she initiated in 1947. Doesn't say she entered Chapter Grand though... I wonder if we could contact her and let her know her badge is on EBay?

she has a profile, but it's completely blank. kinda odd if you ask me. ah well though. what a greedy wench. ehhhhhhhhh... and who in their right mind would publish the name? moron. that so pisses me off. i'm going to call or e-mail IHQ now and see what they say. i'll let ya'll know what happens.

okays. i called IHQ and spoke to the voicemail of the membership services lady. hopefully she'll gimme a call back tomorrow. i'll prolly just drop her a line again tomorrow though.

If you look at her other auctions... she's got lots of badges listed... all at $100 each starting bid.

It said 1947? I did a search too and she was listed as a 1922 Initiate of Alpha Chapter. :confused: I typed in Webster as her Initiated last name, and that's what I got.

If this is the one, then she has definitely entered Chapter Grand. :(

Sandy, she's the one. I checked my hardcover directory of Alpha Gams and there is a Helen Webster from Alpha who is listed as Chapter Grand.

Hmm, maybe it's not a sister then. But I still don't know where I've seen that email addy before...and I know it's not from eBay! She probably obtained it from an estate sale or another eBay auction. :mad:

I just wrote the seller about one of those badges. I also forwarded the ebay listing to IHQ.

once again. when it rains it pours. always seems like there's a ton of our badges all at once and then nothing for like a few weeks. ah well. at least it looks as though the second one is going to another alpha gam.

The auction closes in about 4 hours if anyone is interested. It's only at $22.50 right now, which is very cheap for a songbook (I got mine for $60+...ouch!).

Side note: with less than 15 minutes to go, no one has bid on the bagde that was listed for $100.

That's why I changed mine to hawaiiagd. I used to trade under the name kuhinanui, but after all of the emails from IHQ and other Alpha Gams asking "who are you and what do you want with our stuff?" I decided it better to make it very clear that I am an Alpha Gam :)

I'm so thrilled NO one, including those pesky collectors, bid on that badge!
