DJ Quik actually has a new song/video out. The song didn't do too well. I don't know if he has a whole CD out, but I have seen his video quite a few times. |

Wasn't there a t.v special called what about your friends, with the same story theme, and title, different characters, that came out about 6 years ago. and the main song was tlc's what about your friends. And one of the main characters was the girl that plays on soul food? AND the girl that plays morris chestnuts bride in the best man. One girl is rich (mama cares less about what she do), one girl is middle class (parents can't afford it but is pushing for her to go to college), and one girl parents can't afford for her to go to school plus her grades aren't all that anyway? did I jog anyone's memory |

What About Your Friends: The Original
Strobelitehoney,
A Kappa friend of mine  said the same thing the other night and I ignored him because what does he know, right?:p I did some checking and VOILA what do you know -- he was right, but don't tell him OK?!?! This website http://www.whataboutyourfriends.com contains some info on the "show" -- I remember one episode vaguely. It appears to have starred: Lark Voorhies of Saved By The Bell fame and guest appearances on In The House, Malinda Williams of Soul Food the Series, High School High, The Wood as well as Uninvited Guest and Monica Calhoun of The Best Man, The Player's Club and Lena's friend from back home on The Different World episode where 2Pac was on there as well. OOOOOO shoot now I remember this -- I just saw a pic of Tyrin Turner from Menace II Society. That was a SEXY man who definitely made my LIVER QUIVER:p |
I remember that show....The original momma from the Fresh Prince played the rich (I think) girl's momma. I liked it at first 'cause they all wanted to go to Spelman (the bestest school in the world! :D ) but I think only the rich girl got to go at the end...or was it the middle class girl? The show kinda light-weight pissed me off because it seemed kinda sterotypical about Spelman (rich girls, etc) and I hate that! I think it was a made for TV movie or on HBO or something

preview
I'VE SEEN the previews and it seems like it may be a good movie. From what i see, it looks like it is centered around Keisha, and her character's career and dreams as well as her friends careers, after they are older. But hopefully i'll be able to watch it tonight.
|
I watched the movie, it was ok. It reminded me of an afterschool movie...but it had a good message in it. I'm happy to see that she's getting back in the swing of things.
|
Does anyone know when it will air again?
|
Well knowing UPN, it will probably show again next Friday or the week after that!! :)
|
I saw the end because I was go in late. What I saw was good. It so funny to see her and remember her on the episode of the Cosby Show as the little girl that said."Rudy Huckleberry Rudy Huckleberry". :)
|
I saw the movie, and it was a cute little movie.:)
Now what I want to know is that anyone else bug off the guy that was playing Ella Joyce's husband. That was the guy that use to be on the Cosby show as on of Theo's boys. I think Denny was his name.....and now he is playing someone's father, andplaying with a person that was on the Cosby show no dobut...it was just a little funny. |
The movie was okay....I thought it would have been better than it was. But it was great to see "RUDY" all grown up. She is REALLY a pretty young woman.
|
I always wonder about child stars. It seems like it can sometimes be difficult to make that transition from one character to another. People will always remember her as Rudy. Its great to hear she is acting again.
|
I'm going to be the devil's advocate, and say, I really was not impressed with the movie. I thought overall, the acting was not that good. The message was good, but that was about it. However, I was really happy to see Keshia Knight Pulliam all grown up, and doing her thang. She has definitely turned out to be a beautiful young woman.
|
well, kissy, i didn't like the movie either. i'm tired of seeing kim field's sister playing a high school student. how old is she anyway?? and, i thought people were trying too hard to be cute that they were overacting. and i thought the plot was too predictable.
|
Like everyone else I'm glad to see Keisha doing her thing. I as well didn't really enjoy the movie. I think it was kind of cheesy. That lip sync thing wasn't quite right. If I was about 5 years younger I would've enjoyed it a little more becaue it does remind me of those after school specials I loved to watched when I was younger.
I wish Keisha much success in her future projects. |
The Movie
I was not that impressed with the movie either. I mean it was good seeing Keshia getting back to acting and all, but that movie could have been better. I expected the movie to be a little more.
I didnt like the lip syncing part either, but I did notice Denny playing that other girl's father. And now that yall mention it, the movie does remind me of an after school special. |
