Lavaliere, Anyone??

I occassionally am able to lose stuff easily.
That's how I ended up with 3 lavalieres.
I let one of the lil girls I watch at my part time job, wear my first one and when she took it off I laid it on a counter. My elbow was resting on that counter and I went to move it, and down went my lavaliere into a crack that was in the counter. I tried to get it out but couldn't, and the maintance ppl gave me the round around on getting it. I said no biggie cuz it didnt cost that much and so I ordered 2 more (jumbo, and normal size). Well I walked into work a week later and guess what they found for me....my lavaliere :)

So since I really don't need 3 lavalieres here's the deal, if my Sister-Grand Daughter doesnt have one I am going to give it to her. However, if she does.....
Is anyone on our lil board interested in a silver lavaliere? It's a normal size one. I'll send it and give it away for free.

PS... even if she does have one, I lost ANOTHER one before this one, that hasnt turned up yet. But im sure its around here somewhere. Cuz it wasnt at my gym where I was last wearing it. If that turns up ill keep people posted. Yeah that makes 4. :p :D

Tonya,

I only wear white gold or platinum now that I'm married, so I would LOVE a silver lavaliere! I wouldn't feel right not giving you *something* for it, though. Or at least let me pay for postage!

Let me know!

LIEP,
Maria

I will let everyone know whats going on as soon as I hear from my little.

Maria-- I dont want any money for it, not even postage. I want to hand it over as a gift to another AGD :)

Tonya,
How big is a jumbo lavalier vs a normal sized one? I want to get a lavalier but I can't find any websites that list the actual sizes of the lavaliers.
Thanks!
Donielle

Well, you are VERY generous and sweet to want to do that. I guess that's why you're an AGD! ;)

UMgirl 05-13-2002 03:38 PM

Maria-- Thank ya very much :D

Donielle-- A jumbo lavaliere with 3 letters in 1 incb long. Thats what Greek Gifts Etc's website says (Its where I got mine from). I' am thinking a normal would be 1/2 inch or smaller.

This has absolutely nothing to do with lavalieres, but...

Tonya, I know how you feel! I get that way with my driver's license. Right now I have a total of FIVE driver's licenses...why? Because I keep on losing them at the clubs and getting duplicates.

So license after license I keep on losing em... until one day I get a phone call from Travis my bartender...who works at Pipeline (a club that I frequent). He told me that they had my 4 copies of my driver's license.

Now I have one for my car (the most recent and valid one), one in my wallet, and one for each of my 3 purses.

Maria, congratulations on your new piece of AGD jewelry!!!

UMgirl 06-03-2002 06:08 PM

*looks at Sandy and says..* Damn! (scuse the language.

However, I know the feeling on this one too. I just lost my I believe 3rd license ID. I am not too happy about this. Its funny too cuz I just had it to go out to the bars and I think I accidently threw it out in the trash when I was cleaning my room. Needless to say it is NOT fun toting your birth certificate out to the clubc just to prove your 21 and over  Oh, well my new one should be here in 2- 3 weeks :)

Ha ha, with the way Im going with lavalieres, I could have my own jewelry store.

greeklawgirl 06-03-2002 06:25 PM

Tonya, thank you SO much! I can't wait to wear a lavaliere that finally matches the rest of my jewelry! :)

Do you need my address? And can I PLEASE at least pay for your shipping costs?

not to be motherly but you should really cut up those extra licenses! Identity theft is getting to be a popular activity these days...be careful!

Speaking of laveliering, how popular is it in your chapters for the women to lavelier their boyfriends? At what point in the relationship would this happen?

I know men lavelier and pin their girlfriends; now it seems that women are doing the same with laveliering and I'm just trying to understand this new phenomena! Is this just a regional thing or a nationwide thing? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

UMgirl 06-04-2002 11:26 AM

*looks at Maria and says...* NO NO NO NO no! :D

Its only gonna cost me about $2-3 to send it if that. And don't worry I have your address still :D

DWAlphaGam 06-04-2002 11:45 AM

To my knowledge, we've never had anyone lavalier her boyfriend in my chapter; I thought it wasn't allowed in AGD. There was one girl in another sorority on our campus that lavaliered her boyfriend (he was not affiliated) and we thought it was ridiculous that he would want to wear her letters. That was the only time I heard of anything like that happening.
