First Ozzy, now Puffy...

I saw on Headline News ticker that Puffy wants reality-based show, not featuring his "family" but his "career".

I think Ozzy's show is classic and MTV needs to leave it alone. Everyone cannot recreate the "magic" found with The Osbournes. Personally, I' m not interested in seeing Puffy, P-Diddy, Sean, SeanJohn, Justin, whatever...

The deal has not been made at this time, but Puffy wants a show. Maybe BET will pick it up.

I remember when they first announced that possibility and he got a hearty mental BOOOO LOSER from me.

I finally saw the Osbournes last weekend in the NAP and I swear DYSFUNCTIONAL took on a whole new meaning watching that show.

Puffy BOO, we don't want to see you listen to old music and watch you decide who to steal. . .oops . .. sample from. We want to see you still crying over J Lo and writing her more love songs and stuff. :p

I want to see if he is SCURED of SUGE KNIGHT.

If y'all want to see someone's career, come follow me around especially last night's prom.

Honeykiss1974 05-11-2002 11:24 AM

If Puffy wants to show featuring his career, he should contact VH1 and do a Behind The Music Special. I really coulld care less how he got started in his career. That is sooooo boring.

He's already done a Behind the Music special. And in all his interviews he talks about Biggie, cries over J-Lo, and talks about money and cars. How much of that can we hear? And in the words of Ben Stiller, "Puffy, P-Diddy, Diddy Pop whatever your name is, this here, is not gonna fly."

Ideal08 05-12-2002 11:18 PM

Perfect!!!!

Puffy has his uses. The more I study him, the more I believe anything is possible. If someone as untalented as him can make it in the music business, then I could've too. So what if I'm tone-deaf.
He is the true definition of a hack. They should Puffy and Anna Nicole Smith in a show together. That way, we can have trash and stupidity on the same show. Now that is a reality we don't want to see.

MTV Does Diddy
by Marcus Errico
Jul 17, 2002, 2:10 PM PT

P. Diddy is keeping it real for MTV.

The cable network has signed the rap impresario otherwise known as Sean Combs to lord over an upcoming reality series.

Combs had long been petitioning for a reality show in the vein of MTV's hit The Osbournes. Finally, on Wednesday, MTV announced it had found an appropriate vehicle: Combs will oversee the next installment of Making the Band.

Making the Band II will follow a group of wannabes from raw auditions to full-fledged hip-hop/R&B group under Combs' tutelage. As an MTV press release says, "the audience will be present for all of P. Diddy's thoughts, criticisms and final decisions."

Or, in the words of the ever-modest Puffy: "This show will be a wild ride, no tricks or gimmicks, just P. Diddy reality. I have been creating stars since I was 19 and this show will give insight into what it takes to be at the top. I'm excited to be working with MTV and doing what I love to do--create and nurture new talent."

Combs, who runs Bad Boy Entertainment, has produced such artists as Jennifer Lopez, Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans and 112, in addition to his own top-selling recordings. Combs will select the final band lineup and then help his charges learn to perform together, get a record contract, release a single, shoot a video and play concerts.

The original Making the Band was spearheaded by Real World creators Mary-Ellis Bunim and Jon Murray and aired as a midseason series on ABC in 2000. The initial show followed boy-band mastermind Lou Pearlman--the man behind the Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync--as he put together O-Town.

The series hopped to MTV for its second season, tracking O-Town's burgeoning pop career, including the band's signing with Clive Davis' J Records, scoring a chart-topping single ("Liquid Dreams") and releasing an eponymous debut album.

This time around, P. Diddy will assume the Pearlman role.

"Once we committed to a new season of Making the Band, the first person who came to mind was P. Diddy. He's a star maker who has created and produced numerous number one musical acts. He is the perfect person to take Making the Band to the next level," says John Miller, MTV senior veep of original programming and series development. "We're looking forward to...watching P. Diddy nurture and cultivate his new group."

MTV has ordered 10 half-hour episodes of Making the Band II. Production begins next week, with a series of nationwide auditions, and the show will premiere October 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Combs is the latest celeb to land a reality show in the wake of The Osbournes' groundbreaking success. For the past month, MTV has been airing Diary Presents: Brandy--Special Delivery, following the erstwhile Moesha's journey to motherhood. E! will begin airing its The Anna Nicole Smith Show, a series tracking the former Playboy and Guess? model, on August 4 at 10 p.m.

Meanwhile, VH1 confirmed this week that it's in talks with bizarro couple Liza Minnelli and David Gest for a possible show. And Tommy Lee has also been shopping his own show, but so far no network is biting.

As for the Puffy-fied Making the Band, tryouts begin next Monday in Detroit, then hit Miami (July 26), Atlanta (July 29), Los Angeles (August 2), Baltimore (August 5), Washington, D.C. (August 6), and Philadelphia (August 10), before winding up August 11 in New York.

flyygyrl1908 07-18-2002 11:30 AM

Oh Puffy, Paleeez!!!!

This man has lost his mind! After his show is over, watch J Lo try to her own reality series (Remember.....she does everything that he does).

FeeFee 07-18-2002 11:45 AM

Watch out - Liza Minelli is also considering this reality show crap as well. Why????? Anna Nicole Smith - a pure mess at best!!!
P. Diddy, Puff Daddy, Puff the magic Dragon, whatever - aren't we already oversaturated with him??? We don't want to follow this man around
I also think he's scurred of big ole Suge Knight :p

captain1904 07-18-2002 01:38 PM

Puffy is so sexy to me. He's just as cute as he can be.

AKA2D '91 11-21-2002 10:27 AM

found it...

Liza's show was pulled from VH-1

Is anyone watching Puffy's show?

Making the Band II

Okay, I must interject...I have watched Making the Band II, actually I thought the few episodes I saw were kinda funny. The funniest one I saw was when the girl was complaining about the food. Puff was like "Oh she wanna eat...cut her, send her ass home so she can eat!" That was funny!

I was CTFU when he said that. Puffy does not play.

One thing I noticed is that Puffy likes to play up for the camera. Have you ever noticed how sometimes when he talks he talks directly to the camera instead of the person he's having a conversation with?

I like Mysterious too, she seems to have that raw energy that Puff is looking for. I had hoped that Chopper wouldn't have made it to the house. He is TOO damn cocky!

Yeah, she can rhyme...did you hear that guy that was like "Hey what's that girls name, I can't remember, the one that had that Scarface type flow?" I was like DANG...HC he said she rhyme like Scarface???

And what about that girl that sounds like Syleena Johnson...Tondalaya or something like that?

I think he said that she rhymes like Scarface because her voice sounds REALLY deep when she rhymes. When she talks she sounds totally different.

Tondalaya didn't make it to the house, but I thought she would.:(

Buy Mysterious is my girl. When they were doing their show at Justin's she was mad hype.
What's up with the one girl who just up and quit during her performance making it to the house??

I was wondering that too. I just knew she was on her way home. Chopper can flow but he is a little arrogant but when you think about it that is probably what they are looking for.

Yeah, I thought Tondalaya was gonna make it to the house too. :(

Mysterious has some serious skills, though. Plus, she shows that she has a lot of heart and is serious about wanting to make it. I was especially proud of her when she finished the lap in the relay race. :D

Puffy is funny as hell on this show. I was LMBO after the first set of finalists were picked and they were all happy, laughing, etc. Puffy was like "look at these mother-f*****s chilling. They think they really made it." That man is hell bent on breaking these cats. LOL!

JMHO.....

Puff the Dragonbreath Mofo should NOT have his own reality show on any TV station! What would be shown on it? Most likely nothing we haven't seen before. Hopefully he won't have Aroma-vision where the viewers are trying to guess what he just ate by smelling his breath or something. And if MTV gives him a show, they may as well give one to Ja Mule so he can explain how he comes up with sooooo many hits for J-HO!!!

Love_Spell_6 11-25-2002 10:55 PM

I still like Puff...

I'm kind of surprised by all of the negative things people on this post had to say about Puff. I think he is amazing. He had the drive from being an intern at Howard, and he succeeded...does it get much better than that? He is tenacious, ambitious, real, and successful. I gotta give it up to this brother. Whether anybody thinks he personally can rap, sing, or whatever, the brother has definitely got what it takes, and he will go down in history as a mega-producer. Can i find a man out here like Puff? :p :p

An aside: I don't really understand why some women stopped liking him after he dated J-LO saying he was crying behind her. I have a few ideas....but I won't go there... Personallly, I think that was real, he got his heart broken..he was sad...now he's over it.

One More Gone. . .

Well it looks like Pocahontas got herself kicked out the house! I couldn't believe that she called Jamie a "white devil". I thought that the way that they handled the situation was good, but I did not think that she was going to get kicked out so fast! Next week looks more interesting with the cops showing up and everything:o . What does everyone else think?

Love_Spell_6 11-25-2002 11:39 PM

bye bye belinda!

I'm glad pocahontas got kicked out. she had a terrible attitude. She just perpetuates the stereotype of the "angry black woman"..

Well, it looks like one or two more people will be kicked out of the house next week. The previews show Chopper and one of the other guys getting into a nasty fight outside and the cops were involved.

I was not surprised that Belinda got kicked out so quickly. Puffy and crew are not taking any B.S. from those people in the house. If you got a funky attitude or don't abide by their rules - get the packing 'cause you're going home!!!!

vanda 11-26-2002 11:38 AM

Pocahontas brought a Jerry Springer quality to it when she started going off about her boyfriend sleeping with someone she thought was her friend. She should have left that baggage at the door. You don't need to air that kind of drama about you. I did feel she was disrespectful when she was talking to the exec. Every other word out of her mouth was an expletive. I don't think Puffy should have made fun of Jamie crying on camera.

These past few shows have made me look at Puffy differently. He doesn't miss a moment to show his wealth. It's like a Puffy infomercial.

ClassyLady 11-27-2002 12:02 PM

I love Making the Band!

This show is too funny. I have been watching from the beginning and haven't missed an episode. I watch this more than the Real World (for some reason, Las Vegas is just not doing it for me.)

Anyway, here's my take on Making the Band:

Mysterious: I don't think that she's talented at all. Other than her deep voice, I don't think that she really has anything to offer. She's not saying anything and I don't think that her lyrics are hot at all. Personally, I wish that she would put a little more effort into her appearance. I know that she's a lyricist but lyricists can be pretty and put-together. I was so disappointed at the final showcase when she performed in sweatpants and a t-shirt with her ponytail looking three weeks old. Appearance isn't everything but when you're a performer, it sure is a lot.

Chopper: I don't like him either. He is just a little too cocky and arrogant for my tastes. Once again, I don't think that he is all that talented. I sure wouldn't buy any of his work. He just needs to calm himself down and realize that he is replaceable.

Belinda: I never liked her from the beginnning and I am glad that she is gone. For her to have been begging them to keep her, she sure did get a funky attitude once she got into the house. I'm glad to see that she's gone.

Jaime: I actually do like Jaime. He is talented and he is a real person. He is not pretending to be from the streets or to have had a hard life. He comes from a good family and he just likes to rap. I think that he'll go places. I just wish that the show would focus on him a little more so that we can see more of his personality.

Finally, I did like Tondalaya and Breanna. I thought that at least one of them would make it. I think that Puff didn't pick Breanna because he didn't want her to seem like a bootleg Alicia Keys, the comparisons would be inevitable.

Had me in tears....

Did anybody see it last night???!!! All I can say is that I was in tears ... TEARS, you hear me??? Not only did Mysterious lose her little sister, but the manner in which she lost her just blew my mind . I really hope she comes back to the show after she gets a chance to mourn. I know most people wouldn't be thinking about the show after something so horrific happens, but I think that the show may be her ticket to making major moves in her life. I'm sure her sister would want her to get out of the hood and on to bigger and better opportunities. Man, I'm still in so much shock. I hope that we get to hear a bit more about what happened. I mean, who killed her, for what reason, if the perpetrator is caught, etc....

Yeah, what happened to Mysterious' sister was really messed up. According to this week's TV Guide, Mysterious does return to the house after mourning the death of her sister. So, just continue to tune into the show.....

You are not the only one. I felt SO bad for Mysterious. :( I thought she was going to say her sister was shot, but when she said what she did, I was speechless. I really like Mysterious and am hoping for the best fior both her and her family. It had to be really hard for her to come to grips with her sister's death, especially the manner in which she died. Does anyone know if this was her biological sister? I know she said that she was in and out of foster care. Just wondering.

On a lighter note, can someone please explain why Allah and/or Chopper did not get kicked off the show last night? Both of them were just acting a FOOL. Fighting, throwing garbage cans, and biting?!?! :o I'm really surprised that Puff & Crew didn't give them both walking papers.:

I was thinking the same thing. The swiftness with whcih Belinda was gone made me just know they were going to be right out the door after fighting in the street, getting the cops involved, etc. Their actions could actually bring liability to the show and the label. But maybe that is the double standard between the boys and the girls or maybe the singers and the rappers since so many MC's have that "image." Or Puff diddy daddy knowing how his a$$ was staying in trouble for a minute sympathizing.

I was also in tears when Mysterious described how her sister was kiled. I was shocked and saddened. If anyone does not believe life is stranger than fiction...puhleeze. No one could have written that in if they tried.

1savvydiva 12-04-2002 01:43 PM

I missed this episode, does anyone know when they play the replays? Just in case I don't catch it, what happened to Mysterious' sister?
