Another favorite
Not to be sexist, but ladies, what do you find to be the best razor? I'm having issues with the two I have and with tank top season approaching need some input.
|
I used to be a loyal user of Daisy razors but I when I switched over to Gillette's Venus, I loved it even better. Basicly, it's the female version of the Mach 3. I recently upgraded Brandon to the Turbo Mach 3 :D lol.
|
I started using the Mac 3 years ago and LOVE it. Definetly my fave!! :D
|
Turbo mach 3 is nice, feels better shaving.

Right now I use Venus and I like but it is expensive.
Ronnie :D |
Maybe I'm just an idiot then (entirely a possibility) but I don't feel that the Venus gives me any kind of a close shave at all. What are you all doing that I'm not?
|
i totally agree with you karen - i hate those damn razors that have the blades that come off... maybe i'm not using them right, but i'll stick to my pink easy to use razors :)
i've been told that you get a closer shave if you don't shave as soon as you get in the shower, but you let the water soften/penetrate the hair folicales (is that a word?) |
I'm using the Venus and I LOVE IT, but the blades are very expensive.
|
I heard that there is some sort of new lotion that makes the hair thinning or fall out.
|
I use the Mach 3. Same thing as Venus but much cheaper.
|
I use venus but i agree that the refills are expensive. I like venus the best out of all the ones i have tried, but i dont have a favorite.
What about shaving cream, i dont remember the one i have, i think its like gillette in peaches. Anyway, i hardly use it because i dont see or feel a difference, as a matter of fact, i feel that if i do use it, i dont get a close enough shave. |
Until I can afford lazer surgery for it all, I like the Mach 3 as well, but it is really sharp and I always cut myself the first time I use a new blade...clumsy I guess!
|
I use shaving cream for my legs but not my arms - and I buy the guys, because I'm not going to pay extra for a pretty girl scent.
I find that brand of razor doesn't make a whole lot of difference as long as you don't do what I did last time and be cheap and buy the single blades! Gotta have at least two! |
For all those Venus users out there- I have heard that after shaving for a while with the venus, you have less hair growing back, so you get to shave less. Have you found this to be true? I really want to try it, but it's so expenzive, I'm still sticking with my little Gillete Exel...I've never heard of anyone using the Mach 3 until now either.. is it really that good?
|
I use the Mach 3, glad to see I'm not the only woman that uses it :D
I tried the Venus, but I don't feel like it gets close at all (it did seem to work better w/ shaving cream v. soap for some reason  ) I have tried the lotion that is supposed to reduce shaving (made by Jergens), but I have seen no difference and maybe just the opposite - having to shave more... |
The Mach 3 is definitely a great razor. Oh by the way, if you have the handle to the venus the mach 3 blades will work. It's way cheaper.

Shaving Lotion

http://www.epinions.com/content_56033644164 I haven't been able to find it in my market, which really makes me mad b/c I have a coupon from Jergens for a free bottle of something, b/c I bought the Cucumber Cooling Lotion & it made my skin feel gross...I sent them an e-mail about getting a refund and they sent me all these coupons! |
im alllll about the mach III for shaving its amazing. i would be interested in that lotion though. is it some very mild form of nair or something? same concept?
|
I use the Gillette SensorExcel now...but I have heard great things about the Venus razor...I'm thinking of switching!!
As for cream...I use Skintimate gel in baby soft (the blue can) |
Schick Slim twin disposable and whatever body wash I'm using at the time. Works very well.
I always shave while I'm conditioning my hair. So I know that my hair will get at least 2 minutes of conditioning and my leg hair will be nice and ready at the end of my shower. If you always cut yourself when you switch razors it's probably because your waiting to long to trash the dull ones. When the razor is dull you press harder on your skin. You get used to pressing harder and then don't compensate when you've got a brand new razor sharp razor. :D |

After borrowing my ex's Mach 3 - I have been in love with it! The blades are pretty expensive (like 4 for 6 bucks) - but Im telling you - I hop in the shower, use regular soap - and I have NEVER cut myself. I used to use bic, and those daisy pink razors - and I always cut myself. Mach 3 is *the* best razor out there!

Gillette Mach 3. Yep, the one that's supposed to be for guys only!
I find it better than any other women's razor I've tried. |
Well, since I'm going to the drugstore tonight, I think I'll get something new. Maybe I'll try the Mach III since its so highly recommended. I just want a close shave (especially for the wedding I'm in). I cut the hell out of my legs this morning with the Personal Touch razor I have and don't have any desire to go back to the Venus. Thanks to whoever posted that the Mach III blades will go with the Venus handle.
