GC Convention
 

Since I be the King,(GOOD TO BE THE KING) of the Convention Committee, I have given this a lot of thought! Especially from what many of my Greek Brothers and Sisters are doing!

We can try to have one major Meeting in Kansas City which is in the Middle of the Almost Known World OR?

Have Regional Meetings at designated Parts of the Country!

So Far, I have 2 members on teh Committee who are the Wendi and Wendy Girls! Both AGD! One in Raymore, Mo, ( a Burb of KC and one in Atlanta ( Georgia ) If you are not sure where that is.


Because of what the situation of Time, Money, and the Home Security for flying,
I propose that we have Regional Meetings.
If that is the case, i need Representatives of areas around the Country who can run the area meetings and report back all of the fun you had in meeting each other.

I will find my 1942 Map and break it out so that certain areas will be able to travel via Auto mobile to meet!

My first Vision was to take over the Ritz Carlton but thought well maybe the Motel 6 to have our convention at! 4 to a room to split cost!

We have NO Budget ( well does that sound familiar ) for travel expenses.

I will need some imput for those that want to be area coordinatoers for certain Regions.
Let me know so we can get going!

I think that we should have regional conventions. For almost everyone, it would be cost-friendlier. :)

Perhaps we could have a national convention further, further down the road.

I would love to head up a meeting. I'm here in Toronto, Canda. Which is pretty much the center of Canada, if not the universe (hee hee hee)!!!

Well, if I end up moving to England this summer, I suppose I could head up the Great Britain delegation. Wouldn't be too hard, as far as I know, it's only me and kittyuk. ;)

ANYTHING to get me out of OKC for even a couple of days!

I'm smack dab in the middle of Arkansas (Little Rock to be exact). I am 5 hours away from OKC, Dallas, a little closer to Memphis, etc.

Hey ktsmake, I go to OKC often. . .Mom lives there (in fact I'm going next weekend to help her move).

While I CANNOT be a regional coordinator (too much other stuff going on right now), I can be of some small assistance.

Tom, maybe you can get a report from the Membership Committee a report on where everyone is located (from the Membership App), and plan from there.

I'm near Altlanta, too! Even closer when I got to work.;)

We could have a Southwestern Region! For those of us in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, etc... or, the fabulous GC'er's of Texas could just have our own!! (I'm kidding ya'll). :p

I'd be willing to help coordinate something!

Ok Pandarose18 and AGDLynn, I am willing to help plan the 1st SouthEast Regional Convention of Gamma Chi. Please PM me and we can get everything started so something does happen!!

I would thing that the following states should be included in the South East Region:

Georgia, Flordia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, South Carolina, Tennesse. I am not sure if North Carolina and Virginia are considered to be South East or not but if they are then I will add them.

I would like for a "delegate" from each state to vote and conduct business at the convention, but all members are able to come. These are just ideas and not in stone so please let me know what you think.

I am looking at this being held around mid July???

If everything went the way I wanted it to, I'd be gone for England mid-July. Then again, the immigration people may have something to say about that. :) Also, I kinda wanted to have my birthday in the US - July 27. Oh whatever, class starts on September 30th...I guess that's the bottom line!

So hey, if you think that a late June, early-July event would work, count me in for a California regional!

I'm willing to help set up the Southeastern conference and also be the Florida deligate if no one else from here wants to...UF is close enought to Atlanta that I can make the drive...We could always call ourselves the Dixie conference, or the SEC...

Then again, it might be fun to be back with the Texans. . .;)

I will be willing to help out with a Baltimore area meeting if it is in the summer. And if it is during the year I can help with a Kentucky meeting.

I would like to help out here in Canada. I'm here in Toronto, which well is central Canada, or Eastern Canad, depending on how things want to be split up. I'd like to know how many of us in Gamma Chi are in Canada?

The idea for Regioanl meetings is to get to meet each other in a close area where it is close to a large of people.

I have tried to break these down so it is not to hard to get to for a weekend!

New England: Canada,Maine, Mass., RI. Lady Pi Phi (Emily) Chair.
Atlantic: NY, Penn.,Maryland, Del.,NJ.
Colonial: Virg. W. Virg. No. Car
Seaboard: Fl. ( N and South) EM1843 (Matt Troy )
Dixie: Geo. Ala. So. Car. theta sig adg (Wendy)
Midwest: Ind., Ohio, Kent.
North Plains: N & S Dakota, Minn. Wis.
Missouri Valley: Mo. Ks, Neb, Iowa, Oaklahoma Tom Earp-alphagam-alum
Sothwest Tex, La, Oak
Boarder W Tx, NM Ariz.
Rocky Mountain: Utah,Colo,Wy.
Northwest: Wash,Or, Id, Mont.
Pacific N Cal. Cal. Nev.
Pacific So Cal. Cal, Nev.

I am not forgeting our Canadian Brothers and sisters so you need to work out which area you are closest to!

These are just suggestions and you can be in another Region depending how near you are to the easist and shortest drive for each of us

Some areas that have more schools and alums in area are great.

The idea is for us to get toghether and put faces with the many names of the Friends that we have made on GC.

Each one who has signed on to be a Regional should ask for those in your areas who are interested in meeting and do it!

As you can see, there are open areas that need a coordinator for areas!

OTW and Mi LAy are the toughtest as they are in Paradise and far from us all except on GC!

While Mi is faily new, I would love to give her a Hug second to OTW of course who is one of my favorites of course! Well that is all for now Yall!!!!!!!!

As a Kentuckian, I would like for our good Commonwealth to be included in the Dixie region, rather than the mid west. Thank you.

Regiona Coordinators, set up your own timeing frame and where!

I have tried to make as easy for travel time. Some areas are so big that travel time is a lot!

If you think an area that I did nt put in, it was just to get a general location.

We still need some Regional Coordinators so step up! Let me know so can put you on the list!

Some Areas may be best in other regions for closeness. Remember 99.9% have never met so now is the time to do it!
