Positive Remarks ONLY

Please give the name of ONE organization, besides your own, that you think deserves a round of applause and please tell why.

Lambda Chi Alpha
~The area that I come from is a very poor area. When they do their food drive every year it really gets the whole community involved. They are also very down-to-earth guys and they know how to have a good time.

LeslieAGD 05-02-2002 11:24 AM

Delta Zeta...they won Greek Week this year, beating Tri-Sigma's four year streak, and received the Panhel award from Outstanding Chapter ( and I like them cuz they nominated our chapter for our award, Most Improved Chapter ;) ).

IowaHawkeye 05-02-2002 11:44 AM

Delta Gamma

- Raised the most money for Dance Marathon for the past 3 years
- Highest GPA past 3 semesters
- Had the most participants in DZs philanthropy event :)
- Overall freindly, fun, awesome girls!

BearyCuteAPhi 05-02-2002 11:49 AM

Chi Phi

~They are very funny! :p
~Cool guys

-----Beta Theta Pi-----

Men of Principle Initiative - this is some good stuff, and they have been nationally recognized for it.

UDZETA 05-02-2002 03:21 PM

Beta Theta Pi
These men have worked very hard to build up thier fraternity and they have done a wonderful job. Esp. The chapter at UCF. These men started that chapter only four years ago and it has continued to grow!

Theta Phi Alpha
These girls are always a good sport when others are not a good sport to them. Example: one of thier sisters was tripped during a game of kick ball during Derby days by a different sorority. This poor girl broke her leg. But the girls were good sports and didn't start any fights. Chapter at UD

ZTAngel 05-02-2002 04:41 PM

Delta Gamma- When I first arrived at UCF, they were very close to having their charter pulled. In less than a year, they have pulled their numbers up and have done great things at UCF.

FuzzieAlum 05-02-2002 04:57 PM

Alpha Phi - they have so many historic firsts. First chapter house, first ELC.

SigkapAlumWSU 05-02-2002 05:46 PM

Omega Delta Phi- a historically Hispanic fraternity started in the 80's, the encourage people from every social and ethnic background to rush them. They (along with PKT's) were our Greekweek partners this year, and even though they are still small (15 men) and in a rebuilding period, they were super enthusiastic to participate in everything. A guy I know in my dorms (white, not hispanic) pledged them last semester and he is having a great time, and from what he said, they are setting up a budgeting/fundraising outline so that they will have a house in about 10-15 years. Way to go!!!

Tom Earp 05-02-2002 05:49 PM

AOX81 , thank you for the nice message!

While we call it the Great North American Food Drive, this includes all of US and Canada!

All of the Food we get goes to the Local Pantrys for the needy!

I am glad that We as LXA could be of Service in Your Area!

I have been out of College to long, But I know that All of the Greek Organizations at the Pitt. do many things for Charity!

We as a Chapter do 2 things on our own along the the Food Drive.

We as Greeks do many things for the betterment of our fellow Human and four legged freinds.

That is what makes us great!

chopper816 05-02-2002 09:02 PM

Pi Kappa Alpha

They raise a lot of money for the boy scouts and are a great group of guys. They're involved on campus and the guys that I know and that im in organizations with are class acts.

Tippiechick 12-18-2003 09:12 PM

Delta Zeta

The DZs are Middle Tennessee State University are some of the sweetest, classiest, hardest working ladies I have ever met.

Two of their alumnae are friends of mine and I hold them in the highest of regards!

If the DZs nationally are anything like the DZs at MTSU, then they are to be applauded. :) (And, I know they are...)

Godfather 12-18-2003 09:16 PM

Sigma Alpha Epsilon: good guys, they know how to have good time and throw some of the sickest parties on campus.

Delta Gamma: Great girls that you can bring out with the guys and even home to mom

Kevin 12-18-2003 09:26 PM

Pi Kappa Alpha.

They've pretty much always had our backs (and vice-versa). As the new chapters on our university, a lot of crap flies our way. It's cool to have someone that's got your back.

That1LoudChick 12-18-2003 09:27 PM

Sigma Chi- They are the sweetest guys and are always doing something good on campus!

Delta Omega Local Fraternity: right now, they are the fastest growing organization currently. those guys are very cool. at the rate they're going, they might be the biggest Fraternity on Campus.

sairose 12-18-2003 11:23 PM

Definately the brothers of Phi Mu Alpha.

The chapter just recolonized last year and had an INCREDIBLE amount of determination and dedication in doing so. They are the closest fraternity I have ever seen, and they strive to be leaders, gentlemen, and obviously great musicians. And they are nice to everyone, and they do so much for the music department and for the community. Not a day goes by that you walk through our fine arts building without hearing their call or the boys singing "Hail Sinfonia".

ADPiZXalum 12-19-2003 12:14 AM

Gotta brag on two: Kappa Alpha Theta and Chi Omega at Baylor University are awesome. They are two of the strongest chapters on campus and continually through the year helped us a smaller chapter grow and become stronger.

hannahgirl 12-19-2003 12:16 AM

FIJI -
One of their members was diagnosed with cancer and they have been very supportive of him. They have helped raise money to pay his medical bills and have been there for him every step of the way. They deserve a pat on the back!

Sigma Nu -
The guys lost their house to the university this summer and a lot of us feared that it would be the end of the Sigma Nus, however, they live in a house right off campus and were able to recruit a great pledge class of guys. They have showed that nothing can stop them and that is a great quality of leadership that they have.

SigKapSmurf 12-19-2003 12:04 PM

I would have to say that the guys of Alpha Sigma Phi are really some of the nicest and most helpful on my campus. Last week while studing for finals there were a lot of Alpha Sigs and Sig Kaps studing together and helping each other out. They really showed how sweet they can be.

jwoods9 12-14-2004 07:29 PM

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc....a lovely bunch of ladies.....I miss the Gamma Kappa Chapter girls from Rutgers...shout out to Deborah and Christina....

AOIIsilver 12-14-2004 08:04 PM

Pi Kappa Phi

They support alumni initiation of deserving men.
They raise money for organizations/funds that support persons with disabilities.

The sisters of Epsilon Kappa Tau of Otterbein College, for having some of the sweetest girls ever. Honestly, these girls are friends with members of almost every house on campus. They always present themselves as ladies, but they still have a great time. Plus their house is adorable and homey, and they did a fantastic job at Greek Week.

and men...

The brothers of Lambda Gamma Epsilon (Kings) for just being all around wonderful boys (men). They hold brotherhood and loyalty above all others. I can honestly say they are some of the most polite, funny, and crazy people I've ever met, and I'm proud to call any one of their members a friend. Their rush numbers have gone way up, and they consistantly give bids to deserving men of all races and orientations and welcome their contributions. They did awesome at Greek Week by doing quirky things that only they could pull off.

and just because I can, the boys of Phi Kappa Tau, for making a gentleman out of my brother (biological). I was surprised when he pledged, but he's gone on to become much more confident and driven, and much more outspoken. I've met many of his brothers, and their contributions to the Hole in the Wall gang camps are amazing.

KSUViolet06 12-15-2004 02:52 AM

I'm gonna go with Delta Gamma. Nationally, they are strong and the chapter here is full of top notch women.

NutBrnHair 12-15-2004 03:33 AM

Nationally, I respect the strength of Delta Delta Delta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Kappa Alpha Theta and Pi Beta Phi.

trojangal 12-15-2004 03:59 AM

I am really impressed with the men of Alpha Tau Omega at Troy State. They are fairly new to the campus and have really done a great job in their colonization process. I've gotten to know some of the members and they are just great guys who work so hard to bring good things to the campus.

CarolinaDG 12-15-2004 09:31 AM

Gotta say ZTA at USC.. I'm a little biased b/c I have so many friends there, but I was really impressed with the fact that ZTA day this year was the same day as Dance Marathon, and they still had a group of 40 or 50 girls at DM.

P.S.-ZTA Day is when all the ZTA chapters in South Carolina get together. I'm not sure what all they do, but it's a big deal for everyone to go.

ZZ-kai- 12-15-2004 10:56 AM

I admire the likes of Phi Delta Theta, Sigma Chi and SAE. When Beta Theta Pi had established strong chapters in the early and mid 1800's, we took a relaxed approach to expansion, where Phi Delt, Sig Chi and SAE did not - which is why we are at 120sum chapters, and they are either approaching or surpassing 200.

and know they're officially back as Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity.

Delta Tri am I 12-15-2004 08:47 PM

I have to say:

DELTA ZETA

These women are fantastic, classy, sweet, intellegent... just an amazing group of ladies!!

SirHornyToad 12-16-2004 03:51 AM

I'd have to say Tri Delta, they are very beautiful gals

neonsparkles 12-16-2004 06:58 AM

Chi Omega ! The women in this organization are extremely classy and many of them are my best friends. A few years ago one of their sisters was diagnosed with RSD which is a very rare disease and almost never occurs in someone so young, but was "triggered" (i can't think of a better word to describe it) and has caused the girl multpile surgeries. Among other things, she has had her spleen removed, has spent most of her time in hospitals, describes every day as filled with pain, and has withdrawn from school. These women started a walk in her honor to raise money and do all they can to support her though this ordeal.

PHAShriner/1906 12-16-2004 03:43 PM

Alpha Men

Alpha Men are so connected w/their culture & are very down to earth. When I was a young male I remember observing the Alphas visiting the Cabrini Green & Robert Taylor Homes public housing complexes in Chicago where I lived and performing with great precision, formation, and uniformity complex steps and marching with THUNDER right in front of the gang members. Afterwards, the Alphas would engage in basketball & softball and spend time interacting with the community members. I might not be privy enough to tell you much, but I sure can state for the record the fact that, "them ALPHAS are very POSITIVE."

AXO Alum 12-17-2004 11:10 AM

All of the NPC sororities on our campus!

Recently, ADPi adopted a family for Christmas - the dad has ALS and they have 4 girls ages 8 and under. Well, we all needed a group project, so to speak, and ADPi's advisor suggested that each chapter take a different family member.

We got the parents and we were able to buy the mom a GC for a manicure, the dad a GC for Blockbuster (he loves movies), a GC for them both for dinner, and a membership to a local science center for the whole family. The rest was given to them in a check so they could use it towards purchasing a scooter for him.

I don't know how to post pictures :( or I would put one up here. Its a picture of all 5 orgs with the stuff to give them. It was REALLY a wonderful project!

OleMissGlitter 12-17-2004 12:33 PM

I would have to say that I love all of the NPCs at Ole Miss. They are all wonderful and very supportive.

Pi Beta Phi's have been very supportive though of AOP's philanthropic events in the past few years. I always see tons of them at our events. I have also had a wonderful time meeting their advisors and working with them.

KAQ's have been wonderful as well. I enjoy working with their advisors as well.

My favorite house mother is the Kappa Delta House Mother. Miss Judy is so friendly and such a wonderful hostess when we have advisor meetings at the KD house.

Also, during recuritment this past fall 2004 KD and FM were very helpful and I know our recruitment adviser loves their advisers.

ThetaPrincess24 01-18-2005 11:49 PM

Alpha Chi Omega for Condoleeza Rice :)

Not to get too political(and i know plenty here may disagree and that is okay) but I think she is a very well spoken and intelligent lady that represents Alpha Chi Omega well.

AXOhottie 01-19-2005 02:50 AM

Pi Beta Phi

They are an awesome group of women on my campus. They were the largest group that came and participated in our 5K Walk Against Domestic Violence, raising over $200. They are just fun girls and we love to hang out with them!

IrishPhiSig 01-19-2005 07:15 AM

I have to admit there are girls from all four other organizations on my campus I adore and think are wonderful. So shout outs (;)) go to Delta Gamma, Gamma Phi Beta, Alpha Phi and Alpha Gamma Delta.

I really don't know a lot of guys from the other fraternities....but I do really feel like the Delta Tau Deltas and Phi Kappa Taus are doing wonderfully. And of course I have to give some love to the Pikes as my cousin is a former archon. :D

sigmagrrl 01-19-2005 12:57 PM

Zeta Tau Alpha:

They've got their isht together!! I love their strong affiliation with Susan G. Komen...KICK A$$!!

Oh, and I am a bit envious of the whole strawberry motif....SO KEWL!

My Best Friend is a ZTA, so it's ok to have a crush on ya, right??? LOL

:D

And of course, we are part of the Farmville Four together....GO ZTA!
