Favorite Place to Go Eat after Drinking
here at Western Kentucky University, Krystals, McDonalds, Denny's, Waffle House 1 and 2, and a convenient gas station known as the "Box" all provide our inebriated hunger pains with food and drink. Waffle House and Krystal's being the two more popular.

Cotixans... a 24 hour mexican place where you are guarenteed to find SD college kids at 2 AM sloppily shoveling a California Burrito into their mouth. Haha. The best is when you see sorority girls dressed in beautiful Bebe/Guess dresses sitting with their dates sharing a mountain of nachos after semis.
Or Robertos for the carne asade fries. Or Carls Junior for cris cut seasoned fries with ranch and chocolate shakes. |
At LSU...Raising Cane's is always really popular when the bars close for the night. You just can't beat chicken fingers, french fries, and Texas toast at 2 am. HEHEHE. Waffle House and Louie's are also pretty popular. I'm sure my sisters will be dragging me to one of the three this Thursday after we hit the bars for my 21st!!! YAY!!!! :)
|
Whataburger..for the greasy disgusting-when-sober chicken strips....or Denny's. Tons of drunk people there when the bars close.
|
When I was much younger, it used to be White Castle! And I'm still alive to tell about it.
|
pbpck may be right about SD kids eating Mexican food when we're drunk, but at SDSU when everyone is drunk and the night is ending you eat at Ponchos. It is the nastiest, greasiest place on college Ave. but it's across the street from Greek circle, and everyone goes there. i have only eaten it when i was really drunk, otherwise i dont think i could handle it.
|
We go to the A&W root beer/Amigos joint (we affectionatly call it Shmigs) that is like less than 50 yards behind my chapter house...open until 4 on thrusday, 330 on friday and saturday.
If we don't go to Shmigs, than it would be to Jimmy Johns for sub sandwiches. Both are pretty good food, although some people refuse to eat Amigos when they are sober, I don't know why:confused: |
IHOP
|
PRIMANTI'S!!!!! http://primantibros.com
|
Denny's or Calhouns - pretty much the only places close to UBC and in central Vancouver that are open to 2 or 3 am
|
Taco Bell
Local Joints: Angelo's Tom Z's ACI (Atlas Coney Island) CCI (Coloniel Coney Island) |
In Houston:
Taqueria Tapatia (greasy all-hours Tex-Mex, there are times that I barely remember being there....) Taco Cabana (fast food tex-mex) House of Pies (for eggs, pie, shakes, you name it) Bibas One's a Meal (sort of like Pies, but with a Greek influence) Whataburger (for the aforementioned chicken strips or breakfast taquitos) IHOP is usually reserved for it's bottomless-coffee-filled study nights here, but not so much for de-drunkifying one's self. |
Normally you see the drunks around here stumbling home after a long night of drinking with a big fat burrito from Panchero's, some taco bell, or a Jimmy Johns or Big Mikes Sub...
We have a pedestrian mall here where all the bars are located, and right in the middle there is a gyro cart, a chicago dog cart, and a grilled cheese cart... excellent when leaving the bars :D when you get home though, everyone calls Gumby's for pokey stiks or Papa Johns for pizza :) |
Whataburger
Chacho's (Chacho's is also a great place to go and drink margaritas while eating) ;) |
In college, Denny's. After college, any place that's open at 4:00 AM!:D
|
La Bamba's - for burritos as big as your head
Jimmy Johns And the Papa Johns at 3 a.m. But the best is Winston the Bagel man. Only found in Carbondale, Ill. He toasts bagels, adds apples, sunflower seeds, bacon bits, onions, cucumbers, apples, cinnamon, cream cheese, butter and garlic salt. Trust me, Its the best after a night of drinking. But its also good sober ... |
In my hometown everyone heads to these places (which are all local):
Pizza Corner ( 3 out of four corners on the block have pizza places, selling HUGE slices, thus the nickname Pizza Corner) Pita Boys Freeman's Alfredo's Subway I think those places are the only ones still open at 3:30 when the bars all close!!!!:) |
Joes!!! Joes diner. I just thought of something. eat at joe's eat at joe's eat at joe's. LMAO like the cartoons. lol. yeah its like totally this hey look slice they play fifties music. I'm not drunk i swear.
|
The night is just not over until you've convinced your DD to go to the drive thru at Robertos; or any of the other 4000 Mexican restaurants that end in bertos.
Cause if it ends end bertos, it's gotta be greasy! :D |

Argh. Can't stand Denny's. I can't believe some of you people eat there!
My favorite place is Zippy's. One of the few 24 hour restaurants here. Nina & Carnation, I don't know if y'all remember Zippy's, but they're famous for their chili. For some reason, when I get the beer munchies...I always crave Zippy's Chili. Too bad we don't have IHOP here. There's one on Maui...but none on Oahu! |
Lets see...in San Antonio i go to IHOP, Denny's, or ChaChos. In Austin i go to Magnolia Cafe
|
I'm not a big drinker, but the drinking crowd around here goes to Abe's or Gianni's (both Coney Islands), Denny's, or the Taco Bell drive through.
|
Steak and Shake.
Del Taco. White Castle. I don't drink, I go there with my friends though. I don't understand how people can eat heavy and greasy food after drinking. A lot wind up vomiting anyways. |
frontier restaraunt..right across from the university, is open 24 hours has anything you could possibly want to eat at 3am including great breakfast burritos
robertos(which is now unfortunately closed down), it was this scary A-frame shack in a really sketchy neighborhood, you would always see prostitutes and the like wandering around looking for a 'date'..it was so scary, but the breakfast burritos were like, the size of my head and soooo good |
Haha! Great topic.
Here in good ole Dearborn, we hit up Ram's Horn (tho not as much anymore). White Castle...always a favorite The guys go to this place called L Georges. There's a waitress there that the guys have been going to since they were like 17 and first pledged (they're all like 24 & 25 now). They call her Sweet Lou. She's not there anymore, but they still go there. |
In Vegas, we hit every Denny's on the strip for hash browns smothered and covered! They look disgusting, but they're soooo good after drinking!
We also go to Mel's Diner (it's in the movie American Graffitti) and any restaurant on Mission Street for authentic Mexican food. Mmmmm...getting hungry because it's almost lunchtime! :D |
When I get off at midnight, me and my co-workers go drinking. Our own Midnight Happy Hour if you will. Then we go to IHOP. But I think after the little incident 2 Friday's ago we are all banned from a certain IHOP:o :D
|
Denny's. There's nothing quite like eating a greasy grilled cheese or Moon Over My Hammy at 4am when you're really drunk. :)
|
On my campus people normally go to the Kentucky Fried Taco Hut, which is a KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut all into one!! I can't even tell you guys how many nights we have stubbled out from one of the bars and walked across the street to get a burito!!! :)Some of my favorite memories are from Fall 01 when my ex-bf and his brothers would come up to the suite after drinking since 4pm with Tacos In hand, it was always fun to watch everyone come in all drunk with food... :)
|
I never get the 4AM munchies. I like to be in bed by then :D
However, all of the best "One night after the bar closed...." stories involve a Denny's in them. In OKC I think that Denny's is a pretty ideal place to go. The wait staff is pretty used to drunks and such so it's about the best there is. |
in el paso
chicos tacos is the place...
soppiest tacos in town mmcat  |
Pokey Stix are like heaven at 2 am... drunk or sober! The best is Tuesday, when they're 2 for 1.
Mmm, Pokey Stix with extra ranch dressing, I'm hungry just thinking about them! |
Here at UCLA we are lucky to have Caruso's (italian restaurant) and Puzzles (burritos, burgers, hot dogs, chili fries...) for late night binges; both are open until 11 and 2 respectively. Its awesome because its is a swipt on your dining pass and therefore doesn't cost you anything! If you don't live in the dorms, you can always find someone willing to swipe you who has a surplus of meals (Here you can get meal plans that accumulate when you don't use them so you can feed friends or trade them in at the end of the quarter for bottled water and juices) Also, we are ranked second in the nation for best dorm food and it is so true!
In Westwood, there is In'N'Out (you Californians know what it is all about!!) and Buck Fitty (buck fifty for nonlocals) which is always good too. Ahhh! Now I 'm hungry. Think its time for some chili cheese curly fries... |
