correct me if I am wrong but to use MSN don't you have to have a username/password with them? in other words be registered? If so, that may cause a problem....I have AIM and Yahoo

Ceremony Times
Hate to be the wet blanket here, but I work from 1pm to 9pm CST Mon-Fri. So I won't get home and be able to be on the computer until 9:45pm or 10pm. (add to that the fact that I work in a psychiatric hospital, and I can't leave until my work is done, means I get to work late alot! :( Plus, I have no internet access there, so I can't log on at work.:rolleyes: )
What I can do is do a ceremony in the morning, as long as we are done by noon. Or I might be able to do one on a weekend (what about Sunday evenings?). Anyway, my schedule is weird. I hope we find an agreeable time (or two or three!!). |

I live on the West coast. Unfortunately, I'm with Psych Tau on this one; neither time works for me. I work for the Cirque du Soleil. On Thursdays we have a double-show night. That means that I'm at work from 5:30pm to 12:30am. And, no, I can't log on to the internet while working at the circus. :) May I suggest a midday ceremony or a Saturday one? ......Kelly :) |
My recommendation as a 'location' for the NM ceremony is using MSN Messanger chat - or AIM chat. THese are both by invite only, really easy to set up and control who is in there and are programs that most people have already.

I think Saturday sounds good-I work during the week, and my schedule is kind of erratic....and what is the AIM thing? Is that the aol instant messanger?? I'm totally illiterate about computer stuff. Just don't use ICQ....I've decided from past experiences with that thing that it's the devil.

My vote is for Saturday too. I prefer MSN since I don't have AIM on my computer at home.

UMGirl, I sent an application for Little/Bigs, but wasn't sure if 1) You got it 2) If I submitted after the deadline. Anyway, I'm not sure MSN will work for me... although it might. Is there a way to do a chat room on Yahoo? The only reason I ask is because it seems all the committees have created groups on there already. But I could be wrong. Just a suggestion :D :D -Meri |
What is a Gamma Chi?
Hello fellow greeks! I have a quick question...what is a Gamma Chi? I go to the University of Tennessee and here Gamma Chi stands for Greek Counsler, which took the place of Rho Chi because of NPC rules. I am a Rho Chi/Gamma Chi this year and was so excited to see this post because I was like... yay disaffiliated people! :) And I was just wondering what your's is. No hard feelings are anything, just curious! :) Thank you!

Meri, MaggieAXiD is in charge of the Bigs/Lils and the form should have been sent to the email she provided which was hers, and the deadline I think she said was day before yesterday (not sure), but dont worry I think your in a family (check the last page of the Idea thread all the families are listed there)! :D
Anyone else thought that Rho Chi was changed to Recruitment Counselor??? :confused: Anywho, welcome to GC (Greek Chat) Melissa. Gamma Chi is an idea for an organization that one of the GC members (Tcsparky) came up with. It is an organization to help unite Greeks as a whole (NPC, NPHC, NIC, MC, Local, Academic, Honorary, Professional, Ethnic, etc.)sharing common problems, coming up with goals/solutions and helping to educate the system not only to Greeks but to non-greeks. When is this taking place? my last exam is monday and i will be moved into my uncle's place temporarily by tuesday afternoon and then i am free.
As for the ceremonies I do think its a good idea to have all the commitee members be initiated first and then have another one. both AIM and MSN work because they are by invite only and I know that none of us would invite friends or people not supposed to be there. Kind of funny, isn't it, that I am being initiated into an online glo made up pretty much of people from many different glo's before I am even a member of a fraternity here?:) |

Hey, I was confused while reading through....I saw a post that said that those who are bigs/lils would also be in the alpha class. If this is so....I should be on the list. If not, that is fine too. I have written posts stating that I am interested in ritual, philanthropy or any other committee but noone has pm'd me or let me know they still wanted people for their committee. SOOOO if you would like some extra help....I'm ready, willling, and able. Just let me know. Is it OK to just go to the Yahoo committee sights and put my name down without being asked by the chairperson of that committee? Just wondering! Sorry for the long rambeling post! I hope it makes sense! :) Have a wonderful night!
