Nets will win it all: Party in the Meadowlands Parking Lot

I pray to the goddess of basketball and she has finally answered my call. For years she shunned me and cursed my team, the Nets, with a "whupdedamndo" response. But now, after hearing my pleas, she has finally responded. The Nets are going to WIN IT ALL. You heard it here, first!

The teams in the West are going to kill each other, and they'll be weakened for the Nets. Here's how the West will play out. The Spurs are going to beat the Lakers in 7. The Mavericks are going to beat Sacremento in 6. And then, the Mavericks are going to beat the Spurs in 6.

The finals are going to be one of the highest scoring affiars in history as the Nets win in 7.

You can take those predictions to the bank.

Blueknowledge

Please note: I've also made several other dubious predictions like, Spinks will beat Tyson; This year's Cowboys were going to the playoffs; This year's Knicks were going to win 50 games; And, North Carolina Tar Heels were going to the Final Four.

Even if you don't believe that prediction, you HAVE TO BELIEVE THIS ONE: Mike Tyson is going to get disqualified in the first round against Lewis; Expect vampirelike tactics with kicking and other prosecutable actions from the "iron" man.

Dexter 05-13-2002 01:42 AM

You must be crazy!!!!!!

Blue Knowledge Please!! NO TEAM IN THE EAST,NONE, Will beat any of the teams in the WEST. All of the talent is in the WEST. Jason Kidd, Baron Davis, and Paul Pierce is the only talent in the East and they are on different teams.

Koss28 05-13-2002 08:12 AM

I like to see the Spurs take it because I don't like the Lakers but I think they'll take it again if the Spurs don't get their act together. Last night's game is a perfect example of them falling apart at the last minute. Come on Spurs, you down 3-1!!!!

And where was alleged "MVP" Tim Duncan during that quarter? I'm a Lakers fan, but forgawsake, the opposing team's biggest guys must play big in the clutch. :p

Rest assured that the Lakers won't win the championship this year! Would you like to make a friendly bet? Just for bragging rights. Better yet if I win, You have to refer to me as his golden highness, Mr. Dexter on your next SEVEN posts and must post on this topic SEVEN times after they lose!! If they win then you make the call. How about it? Are you game?

I'm OK for bets as long as there's no $$$ involved -- I'm a skinflint. Are we talking the outcome of a Sacramento-Lakers playoff series? I'll think about what I'd like if the Lakers win later.
;)

No I'm saying that the Lakers will get eliminated by somebody and they won't win the Championship. No money involved. Just a win lose situation. So what's up?

Gotcha.

In that case, if the Lakers win the championship, you may refer to me within your seven posts after that happens as Lady Steeltrap of the Pink and Green under identical terms as you suggested I call you His Golden Highness, Mr. Dexter.

The Lakers are UNSTOPPABLE!!!! They always find a way to win. Especially w/my favorite #8. :D

I would love to see them play the Celtics (for old times sake) in the championship.

All that matters is that the LOS ANGELES LAKERS are going to win it ALL!

Koss28 05-15-2002 08:39 AM

I kept hoping the Spurs could pull it off even though I knew the Lakers would run over them. Oh well, wasn't totally unexpected. I guess I could be a Kings fans now.

Dexter 05-15-2002 12:05 PM

IT'S ON!!!!

sistermoon 05-15-2002 02:43 PM

Lakers will beat Sac in Seven

as much as I like the kings and mr. webber's infectious smile, mr. christie's deft determination, mr. bibby's persistence, and vlady being vlady ...

the lakers, with phil j, will once again triumph as world champions,

and as a side note the lakers will meet the nets in the finals ....

Steeltrap 05-20-2002 01:50 PM

Checking in

Well, I finally have time to comment on Game 1. Good win, although I wanted to see more domination. Kobe was solid, as was the Daddy.
Even though I'm a Laker fan, I would have liked to see the Kings put up more inside muscle. Chris Webber isn't a little man -- he needs to get in there and pound it to the Diesel.

My word, I hardly see this as cocky. :p

I'm awaiting Game 2 myself, and I think Sacramento will come to play tonight. They do need Peja, because "Hideous Turkeyglue" (not mine, I got it from an ESPN board) disappeared against Mr. Vanessa L. Williams, err, Ulric Alexander Fox.

It's tied 1-1. Now we will see if the Lakers can do what they have to do at home. Sacramento did come to play, which made for a better quality of game. I won't go into the officiating.
:p

IF YOU ARE GOING TO TALK, BACK IT UP!
Now as much of GC knows, I love the Daddy. But he cannot go out and call a proud, 30-something Serbian a "she" and not have him and the team back it up with a victory.
I hope that this game was a wake-up call, or else the Lakers will be facing the same type of thing that the New York Yankees faced in the 2001 WS.

Steeltrap 05-26-2002 10:06 PM

Will Smith comes to the rescue!

I recite this pledge: I will no longer crack up at Robert Horry's resemblance to Mr. Jada Pinkett.
http://www.plauder-smilies.de/jump.gif

Seriously, a win is a win, but I just don't think that coming from behind all the time is optimal. It's too nerve-wracking for this fan.
:p

Mz. Sports Luva 05-26-2002 11:54 PM

ROBERT KEITH DID IT AGAIN!!!!!

You are correct!!!! I couldn't even watch the last 11 seconds!!!! I had to wait to hear how my brothers reacted so I could tell who won.

Let's do it again on Tuesday, but let's not play catch-up this time.

amycat412 05-27-2002 12:09 AM

WOO HOO!
Jerry Buss seriously needs to give Horry at $20K bonus for that last second-buzzer racing 3 pointer! OMG he is so incredible,. I was cracking up too at the Yeah, I did it, I'm cool, expression on his face immediately after he made the shot! hE does SO LOOK like will Smith!
