Favorite Beer
What's your favorite beer(s)? I have 2:
Light beer = fat tire, can't get it in Oklahoma so it's kind of a rare treat. Dark Beer = Spaten, Optimator |
Shiner, Shiner, Shiner, Shiner Bock
My best friend drinks Fat Tire all of the time.
For me it is: SHINER BOCK-the best damn beer you will ever have!!!! I hate it when I have to drink anything else. |
Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat
|
sedona brewing copany Nut Brown
or Belgium brewing comapany's Blue Paddle Pilsner |
i have to agree with beta! boulevard wheat is the bomb!!! :p
|
I love Dos Equis, a beer imported from Mexico.
Of course, gotta love Bud Light. Shiner Bock is also really good! |
I was a loyal Bud Light girl through and through...but out here I discovered the wonderful beer, Yuengling (sp?), from Pennsylvania. Yum!
|
Yuengling is good!!! A brother of mine turned me on to it a while back. I also love Guiness, Honey Brown Ale, Molson, and Dos Equis
|
I'm so plain... I just like Miller Lite. But I haven't tried all those other kinds...
|
Shiner Bock, Shiner Blonde, Rolling Rock
|
Light Beer- Corona
Dark Beer- Amber Bock |
country girls...
around here - it's bud light ~~ EVERYONE drinks it -
but for some reason i drink like the guys - i only drink budwieser (bottle only!) or labatt blue [no one drinks that here, i picked that up from my roomie from ny] girls round here though (me too) we're stuck on smirnoff, blue, silver, zima - such like that |
Years ago in college we used to say,
"Cold pizza and warm Rolling Rock, breakfast of champions." I still like the stuff in the green and white bottles from the vats of old Latrobe. |
|
Rolling Rock
Pacifico Red Hook |
Is it ghetto that my absolute fave is Corona? Come on, I grew up in San Diego and learned how to drink in Mexico, it's only to be expected right? Although once a long time ago, in an effort to get an SAE at SDSU to remember my name, I explained that it sounded just like Corona, and now to this day I am remembered that way! That's just what I get I guess. I had a teacher in high school who always called me Corona also, which was mortifying at the time. There's just no way to beat a Corona and lime...although I do like the little girly bottle, Coronitas...those are cute!

Hmmm, favorite beer....
I'd have to go with Guinness, I can drink that stuff all day. How ever, Harpoon UFO and Newcastle Brown Ale are up there too, as well as Sierra Nevada Summer Ale. Collin |
Three words for my favorite
Miller Genuine Draft. Word. Not maybe the best, but is my favorite American. AFter october 8th of this year it might change though, as will be earning my mug. Word. |
Harpoon IPA. No question.
A couple of days after my 21st (which was on Thanksgiving :( ) my boyfriend (now husband) took me to a bar in Boston that has 110 beers on tap. He offered to buy me a yard of any beer I wanted. So I got a few of those 5-oz samples, and eventually decided on a yard of Harpoon IPA. (Now you know why I married the guy. :D ) My other fave is a black and tan - Guinness and Bass. A half-yard or a yard of Guinness and Bass is quite an impressive sight. :) |
What is a yard? or half yard?
|
There is nothing better than Blue Moon with an Orange
next would have to be Granny Smith Woodchuck Chimay is a really good beer, as is Grolsch (though most people HATE both, I love them! |
cold beer is my favorite, as is free beer.
usually i drink bud light, bought 46 pitchers last night for me and my buds to celebrate having a job. it's a bit of a tradition. when i want high class beer, i go for newcastle, killian's, amberbock...stuff like that. when i want low class, nothing but the best milwaukee's best light. i've had some swill though, pig's eye lean (has chunks of barley), old style, old german, american, pabst extra light, brigade, hard gauge, old frothingslosh, iron city, hamms...and the list goes on |
i'm not a huge beer fan, but if i am in the mood, it's corona w/lime or blue moon(if they have it)
if i'm hanging out w/friends at coaches(sports bar) and we're ordering pitchers i prefer coors light |
OP
A yard is generally 3 feet. Or 36 inches, whichever comes first. Just kidding. A yard of beer is a three foot deep glass of beer, believe it or not. It is generally about as wide as a normal glass at the top and tapers as it goes toward the base. I don't know how many ounces is in it. It's pretty interesting trying to drink from that kind of container -- especially when it's getting empty. You tip it very carefully, and the beer always tries to all come out at once. If you're not careful, you end up wearing more beer than you drink. A half a yard is a half of a yard. Duh! |
There is a restaurant here in Long Beach called the Yardhouse, with an outrageous number of beers on tap. Very cool place to go.
Here are my favorites: Red Stripe Black and Tan (Guiness and Bass) And anything by Sierra Nevada |
The only beer I will consider drinking is Belgian fruit beer ("lambic") - favorite flavors are banana, pineapple, and strawberry. I know they sound disgusting but - try 'em before you knock 'em! The other one is a Dutch beer which has coriander in it - I forget the name...
My favorite drink is real cider from England and also France - REAL cider that actually tastes of apples, not the artificially sweetened junk from Woodchuck or Strongbow - yuck! If anybody gets the chance to sample the real thing while visiting England - I highly recommend it. Also real perry - like cider, but made from pear juice. The real stuff made by the smaller companies here in England is just sooooo gooooood..... |
I guess all of you know this by now, since it composes about 92% of my conversations on here, but my favorite beer is Miller High Life. The champaign of beers for me. Nothing but the best.
I dont really get into the whole import thing, I dont know why but its like the diffrence between scotch and bourbon to me. I hate scotch and love bourbon, even though I know they are very similar. I guess its the same for imports and domestics with me. Anyway, a friend of mine bought me a case of a import beer called "Arrogant Bastard" for my birthday. I guess he did it as a joke, and it was some pretty high dollar stuff. I drank the whole case last week and I must say that I kinda liked it. I also got a six pack of "Speckled Hen" for my bday too, but I wasnt as impressed. Speaking of yards of beer. We call em whale bones. Dont you hate it when you get down to about half of the yard and when you turn it up it starts making that clicking sound. I swear everytime I hear that I wanna throw the class down, break it open, and try to find that little damn gremlin that gives me dilusions of ball bearings in the bottom of my cup. Little bastard. |
Guinness. All other beers pale in comparison.
|
Let's see.. I prefer Red Hook ESB, Anchor Steam, Hefewisen (sp?)or Corona, but I'll try anything once and I'll drink whatever kind of beer is available!
|
FYI, Arrogant Bastard Ale isn't an import-it's made in San Marcos, CA by Stone Brewing Co. (they have a great IPA too). It's probably one of the best beers I've ever had, and my favorite too.
|
Bro, suggestion noted. It my narrow minded little world, a import is anything made by a company other than anheiser busch, miller, coors, or the like. I should have taken more time to read the box, but after the first few lines I read, it was taunting me to drink it so I drank till I was belly up. But thanks anyway.
