DG women at your school??

Obviously I am a Delta Gamma and I was just wondering how Delta Gamma is at other schools. At Morehead we are the good all around women. We have good grades, we are involved in lot's of activities, we love to have tons of fun, we have strong sisterhood, and are definately one of the top sororities that girls want to rush!!! However, there have been people who have told me that Delta Gamma's aren't so great at their schools!!! So, I was just wondering what you guys thought. Thanks!!!!

the dg's at purdue are sweet, smart, cute, involved in everything on campus and one of the best houses here and have a big rivalry with the kappa's since they are next door to each other. all an all though i've met alot of them and i haven't met one i didn't like

There's some pictures of the DG's at CU-Boulder. They're all gorgeous. I know they've been a very strong chapter on that campus for a really long time.

The DG's at Iowa are absolutely the most fabulous women!!! DG was one of my top choices during recruitment and it seems like they always get beautiful quality women. They are one of the houses with the highest GPA's, very involved in outside activities, raised the most money for Dance Marathon, and are always very positive and outgoing on campus. You should be very proud of your DG sisters at the Tau chapter http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

The Delta Gamma's at IUP, Indiana University of Pennsylvaia, are a very strong chapter. They have great grades, are very involved, and are one of the top 4 sororities. The DG's I know are great women, and fun to hang out with.

THere were 3 DGs in my floor last year. I go to Northern Illinois. I got along with the two of them (the other one kinda kept to herself and didnt socialize that much w/ her floormates)and of the two, I am close friends with one, in fact, we hang out together in the summer since she was my only college friend who actually lived by me. I don't know any of their other sisters but the two that I know they are pretty, smart, well dressed and fun gals to go partying with...we even trade partying clothes! They even tried to get me to go to informal rush over the spring...let's just say if i wasn't in PSE already I would have http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif.

I know a about 10 DG's from 4 different schools and they are all fabulous, intelligent, amazing women. One of my best friends is a DG from UVA. The DGs at USC (Southern Cal) are a great chapter! I've never known a DG who didn't hold her head high and act as a credit to her sorority.

Its amazing to me, how alike women of the same GLO can be from chapter to chapter. I've been in touch with so many XOs from this board--from chapters that are a few years old to chapters that are 100 years old, from chapters that are #1 on campus, to chapters that are weaker on their campus and we all share the values and purposes, and sense of kindness and friendship that drew us to XO in the first place. I imagine you all find the same thing with your own GLOs.

Delta Gamma here at Florida State is one of the elite. They are beautiful, popular, nice. Anchor Splash is huge.

Wow...its great to hear so many positive remarks about my sisters. I am a DG at the University of North Florida. We are still a fairly new chapter here, but we are building a great sisterhood in Jacksonville. I have met DGs from all over and they never fail to impress me. I love my sisters, and am proud to be a Delta Gamma!

The secretary I had during my first job out of college was a Delta Gamma from one of the southern schools. She was very friendly and nice and never seemed to have a bad day. She was also a super hard worker. Just a delight to be around.

She is the only DG I know/knew personally, but she reflected quite favorably on her sisterhood!

DukeBlue 12-09-2001 01:51 AM

DG at Duke is wonderful. Nice, down-to-earth girls, I've liked every Duke DG that I've met. :) They're well-respected, too, by pretty much everyone.

AXWhoah 12-09-2001 03:13 AM

I don't know many DG's but the Panhel delegate from when I served was very nice. They seem to be a fairly popular chapter here but they have a nasty rep for being dirty...DG=Dirty Girls. I am not sure whether or not they deserve it. They seem to have a mix of nice girls and girls who are a little snotty. But I guess just about every chapter has that. They also have a rep for being heavy partiers, but hey the whole UA has that rep....

squirrely girl 12-09-2001 03:39 AM

there are only so many nicknames you can make up for sororities and fraternities. i've heard the DG "dirty girls" one before and i've heard them called "daddy's girls" before too. On the good side, at my last campus the DG's had a huge house and did fairly well in rush and most were on the good looking side. On the down side, i never heard of them involved with anything on campus, except their own anchor splash. and the only other thing i can think of , keeping in mind this is one school, they were the type of house that actually asked you what your parent's did for a living during recruitment. it was a bit of a bummer cause they seemed so hung up on money. ah well.

BrownEyedGirl 12-09-2001 03:29 PM

The DG's here are the smallest on campus, taking twelve girls this year during formal rush (quota was 42). I really admire them, though, because although they are no where close to chapter total, they are very active on campus, have many social functions and a popular philanthropy. They must have a very strong sisterhood to remain so positive and involved even though some sororities are twice their size. I think their attitude is great, and hopefully they can build up their numbers through COB!! The DG's I've met in my classes have always been very sweet girls, too.

clothesgirl 12-09-2001 04:17 PM

I am a Pi Phi here at the university of Alberta, But i have to say, that If i hadn't gone piphi, I definately would be a DG. They are fabulous, talented women, and they are respected and loved all through the greek system. Anchor splash is always a huge event here. and everyone is always pumped to take part in it. Right now it is a DG that is president of panhellenic council, just to let you know how involved they are.

SnDevilHottie 12-09-2001 09:32 PM

Maybe its an Arizona thing, but our DG's at Arizona State also have the name associated w/ Dirty Girls and Dick Grabbers. Predominantly, they are the hardest partiers, with extreme attitudes. They also have the reputation for dealing with the most drugs. They flow through the house pretty fast, although there are a few nice girls who stay away from that. They have a lot of gorgeous girls, and the guys love them for that and their 'easy' reputation. I'm just responding to this thread honestly.

AchtungBaby80 12-09-2001 09:40 PM

The DG's here are an interesting bunch of girls...I'm not sure how to describe them, except to say that they are not among the "elite" sororities on campus and I don't hear of them being involved in much. They're also not the most gorgeous group ever, but I'm not trying to dog them--I know a couple of them, and they're nice, not to mention they were nothing but polite to me during rush last year. But let me just put it this way, I was really surprised to hear that DG is a top sorority on other campuses, because they're definitely not here.

CA theta 12-09-2001 10:08 PM

DGs have not had the best reputation at my school with the girls, but their most recent pledge class and last yr's pledge class has done a lot to change that image. They are improving, and I think soon they will regain that top image that DG conjures up nationally.

Sweetums 02-09-2002 02:29 AM

The DGs at UBC are great! We're super involved in all aspects of campus life. Our members are very diverse, all around girls. We're definately a top sorority at UBC. I am so proud to be a DG!
