Ladies, the game with the phone was Dream Phone.....I know because I reallly wanted it! Parents take note: this game revolves around girls calling imaginary boys on a pretend pink cordless phone to find out which ones have crushes on them. Like the old-fashioned game of Clue, the object is to discover the secret admirer by eliminating suspects from a clue sheet. Girls pick a card with a boy's picture and telephone number on it, then dial his number to hear a programmed young male voice say something like, "Hi, this is Phil. Your secret admirer likes sports, except volleyball." Crosscheck the game board and see that Scott's a serious volleyball player--and scratch him off your list of admirers. Girls who are just getting interested in boys will find this game a blast, but older girls may find it juvenile. Comes with a comprehensive instruction booklet, phone, game board, playing cards, and a pad of clue sheets. http://www.areyougame.com/images/HB4247.jpg Girl Talk: http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0...1.MZZZZZZZ.gif Looks better without makeup... secretly loves vegetables... born to be famous. Would your friends describe you this way? With Girl Talk, the game of Truth or Dare, you can find out. Are you willing to walk around the room holding your ankles while clucking like a chicken? Call a guy and tell him something gross? Hold onto your tongue while singing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"? If not, you may have to wear a Big Blazing Red Zit Sticker on your face! Oh, the horror! LOL With each twirl of the spinner, you have the opportunity to make a royal fool of yourself in front of your friends--and earn points for doing it, too! Girl Talk is the perfect game for sleepovers, summer camp, or giggly girl get-togethers. Girl Talk is for two or more players. |
What I wouldn't give to be a kid again.....

I was a big fan of Rainbow Brite, Strawberry Shortcake, She-Ra, Jem, Care Bears, and My Little Pony.
I also frequently dressed up like Madonna and lip-synced to the cassette tape with a hairbrush as my mircophone. |
Hey man, I still have my She-Ra Princess of Power castle!
Don't forget about the Mon-Chi-Chis...Sit and Spins, Sweet Valley, Voltron, Silverhawk...Thundercats...Amelia Bedelia...Ramona Quimby...the Beverly Hills Teens! |

Barbie Strawberry Shortcake Carebears Cabbage Patch Dolls Raggedy Ann Peter Rabbit Games: House Hide n seek Being a Big Girl (fictional name...just something my friends and I used to do when we were little...wear fancy dressup jewelry and clothes and paint hideously pink lipstick all over our lips...which somehow got onto the rest of our face!) Okay, another one I can't remember...it was a playground game in elementary school. It was a metal pole with a vollyball-type ball attached to the pole by a rope. You had to hit the ball around the pole and not get hit by it. It starts with a "T"...I was thinking about it the whole way home and the minute I sat in front of my computer, I forgot! :( |

The fashion disasters of the 80's...
I was pining away for a pair of white cowgirl boots, with faux leather fringe and turquoise bedazzles. Goodness. Spandex (monochromatically matched with oversized shirt dresses with the ruffles on the bottom) Double socks Plastic shirt rings (Do you remember bunching up your shirts to the side and putting them through these rhinestone plastic contraption?) In addition... My obsession with Roald Dahl books My recesses spent in the library, reading Shakespeare's Julius Ceasar in 3rd grade. (OK...so I was a nerd, but my parents liked to call me precocious ) Haha. Truth or Dare The insane anticipation that went along with feildtrips. When being sent to the principal's office was comparable to being sentenced to death by a teacher. Awful lunch ladies. The time I got sent to the principal's office by the lunch lady, Rosie, for throwing my cafeteria lunch tray at one of the boys. My trepidation of the big mechanical gorilla playing the organ at Chuck E Cheese (a kid's fun zone). Being a flower girl in my mom's best friend's wedding. I made it half way down the aisle, froze up, ran into the closest unoccupied pew, and regurgitated Cheerios. Sorry...maybe I should have kept that one to myself. Claiming the area under the slide as the "Hello Kitty Club" headquarters. The ability to wake up earlier than noon on Saturday's for the aforementioned Saturday morning cartoon lineup. My crush on Kirk Cameron. Oh..and whoever mentioned them previously, YES, OF COURSE I REMEMBER POPPLES! It was all I wanted one Christmas. I still have mine. Haha...Ok...cut me off. I'm done. |

Watching Sale of the Century (withthe lovely Summer Bartholomew - Shout out to Billy O on that one) During Summer break, followed by Press your luck withthe Whammies. - then The Price is Right. I think I crushed on Holly (Barker Beauty for like 10 years. Janice scared me. I still think she is a man.) (all the while Bob was bangin' em between showcases.)
smurfs - they were on for like 3 hours every saturday morning. Those Great Starts frozen breakfasts. Frozen Breakfasts? How hard is it to fry an egg? The last day of school in elementry school where we'd all have a picnic in the park and play. It was cool. Going to Amarillo with my grandparents on saturday in their big ole hooptie cadallac, going to eat at "the chicken place" and then going to Colberts so my grandmother could buy a new wig. lol. Summers at the countryclub swimming pool. And my dad bitching every month when he got the bill for all the food we ate at the gazebo. The funny part, they would have us out there all day, 10 am to 6 or so when my mom would get off work, but they never gave us any food to eat or anything, so what were we supposed to do, starve? I dont know why we never thought to explain this to my dad either. We just did the same thing every month. hahah. slip and slides. hells yeah. Theres some risk management issues. I dont know why they didnt just call it "Slip and Slide and Break a Bone." When my dad had a plumber come out to the house to install a new hose outlet for the backyard, all us kids were there watching...he gets it installed. He leaves...we turn it on and for some reason the water is coming out milky white (I am sure from all the chemicals in the pipes and whathaveyou). So we, being 8 years old, think its milk. We drink it and our parents were taking pictures, thinking its great! I got so many chemicals, my kids will have gills, but at least mom and pop's got good shots! The way I idolized my big sister for being older. I still idolize her, but for different reasons - what she has done with her life. How flucking hot the streets were inthe summer. My hometown seal coated them - put a layer of tar down then gravel over that. The tar would bubble up and as kids we went everywhere barefoot. I got so many tar burns. My go-cart. How the sound of the ice cream man was enough to cause a kiddy orgasm. Mrs. Neef's Crabapple tree. When my dad would buzz the school in his Barron (twin engine small plane) on Mondays and I knew it was him. Schwann's mini Pizzas. grandmothers cinnamon toast withthe crusts cut off. The tv shows: V, Misfits of Science, Haloween the Series, You cant do that on Television, Night Rider God I am old. :D |

Oh, sweet lifesaver- A lot of your post sounds like what MY son will say when he's older----How hard is it to fry an EGG? The ice cream truck-the country club food bill- how hot-dirty-sweaty but soooo happy after the "last day of school" picnic.
You told it beautifully and made me smile. |

I used to want him to land it on the road in front of our school for show and tell..haha.. We have 3 planes now as the result of my dad's lifelong hobby, but I love to fly so I don't mind! |
