What's your Car Decal for your GLO?
I'm just wondering what kind of car decals representing your fraternity/sorority you have on your car? Do you have your XYZ letters, or the name spelled out or your crest, etc or any at all? I have the word "CHI OMEGA" and my XO letters underneath the word. I like it because its big http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif. Do you ever see any other people sporting their letters on their cars? Have you ever driven by someone in your own organization that had your letters on their car? Lets hear it!

I have the Crest with letters under it, and also the metal license plate frame.........
|
I have my grest with my letters and used to have a plate. I also have my girls letters on my car minus the crest.
------------------ Tekes raise hell! |
I have a blue one with Phi Sigma Sigma written out, but I have a tinted back window... http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/redface.gif( So I also have an oval one for the tailgate (I have a Jimmy) that is blue and has the letters!

I have the crest with my letters underneath it. I also have the license plate frame. I am so proud to be an ADPi, I want everyone to know it!!!
|
Mine is red and yellow letters that says
"XO Chi Omega XO". We got them on bid day & I was so excited to put it on my car http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif Heidi |
Mine is the Greek letters "DZ", and I love it because no one else anywhere has it. (That I know of) It is a white outline with the Texas flag filling in the letters. (Blue "D" with a white star in the middle, red and white "Z"> ) Underneath it are the words Delta Zeta and Tarleton State University. One of our alumni owns a sign and banner shop, so she will make us just about anything we want- all of my sisters have unique stickers (one is zebra print).

Kappa Alpha across my tailgate in block letters. Master Mason symbol in the lower left corner of my tailgate, soon to be accompanied by a York Rite and Scottish Rite Crest.
|
Only place I have mine is front and rear lacense plates with frame on each------
LXA 1 So far 2 other Alums have the same: LXA 61 LXA 327 We are hoping to start a trend for the Chapter!!! ------------------ Tom Earp LX Z#1 Pittsburg State U. (Kansas) |
D Phi E crest with letters below it and the lovely license plate holder. Unfortunately, it has those silly unicorns http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

I have Alpha Xi Delta spelled out on my car. Can I just tell you though that I go to school in NC but my home is in OH and when making that long drive (almost 12 hours) to and from the best feeling is seeing other greeks out on the road with me. I love playing the "greek game" with sisters by trying to see who can spot the most greeks not to mention the bonus points for spotting our own sorority!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

I drive a little red roadster, and display a Delta Tau Delta Alumni decal on the lower outside corner of the passenger side windshield.
When I have the removable hardtop on, there is a duplicate on the back window. The license plate frame is for my Alma Mater. |
I have an AOII Alumna sticker in the corner of my window. I was thinking of getting the long ALPHA OMICRON PI one, but that would fill up the back window too much (already have University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Eastern Michigan Unversity taking up a good amount of space back there!)

Good Question....Down south where I go to school ...GEORGIA SOUTHERN...we all have just the 3 standard greek letters ...but I noticed when I came home for the summer to Pennsylvania everyone has the big names spelled out ....we tend to get really into our organizations in the south ...I have the AOII license plate on the front of ny car and the frame on the back...but we never spell out the names on our cars...they don't even sell them...I am so glad you asked cause I was wondering why no one else had the same kind of letters as me on their car...
|
I have 4 stickers on the back of my car, besides my parking decal. Up top is "Longwood College." Directly under that I have the words "SIGMA SIGMA SIGMA," and under that I have the Greek letters. And way at the bottom is "George Mason University." But I can still see out of the back. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
|
I just have a white sticker with the greek letters "AGD" in black lettering. Its small, but big enough to get the point across!
|
My sticker is kind of cool. It's clear, so only "Delta Zeta Sorority" in Old English print and our full-color crest shows on my car's rear window. I love it.
While on a sisterhood retreat in Helen, GA, when I was in college, we got behind a car with a Delta Zeta alumna sticker. We started honking the horn and making the DZ sign with our fingers at the car, and the two ladies in front of us did the same. I thought it was kind of cool that we had located some older alumnae in such a remote place as Helen, GA! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif |
I had one that had Phi Beta spelled out, but I got a new car & didn't remove it in time. Now I have the greek letters in gold (one of our colors) in the very center of my back window.

I have my college name and my sorority letters written underneath it on my back windshield

Good question! On my old car i had
PM Phi Mu PM (picture the P as the Phi symbol) but it ripped when I took it off. So on my new car I have the outside decal that just says Phi Mu in block letters. It looks awesome on tinted windows! Plus i have my license plate holder. Most cars that i see have their orgs spelled out, but no greek letters, unless its a 2-letter org. ------------------ I duno what I been told, Phi Mu girls are made of gold! Phildo PM W'00 |
On the truck, I have the standard for this part of the state, and the school. Its one of those european oval stickers, that were used to identify a country. Everyone here uses those, except they use their glo in the oval. They sell them at the bookstores here and just seem more contemporary.

I saw a car last night with "Chi Omega" on the back windshield and the license plates http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif I wanted to leave her a note saying hi! but I didn't have a pen or a piece of paper. Oh well, it was still cool!
|
On my old car I had the standard for Denton,
AOPI greek letters in white and underneath it spelled out Alpha Omicron Pi. I saw an awsome rose with AOPI Alumna that I have to have for my new car! AOPIHottie Hey all the AOPI's! |
Front windshield: 'GT Skull' in gold 4-inch letters (old gold is one of our colors)
Back windshield: Greek letters for Phi Kappa Sigma, under that the English written out in a gold gothic font License tag: 'GT Skull' :-) |

I just have one on the back of my car. I have Pi Beta Phi in bold letters. I also have one of the crest, but I haven't put it up yet.
|
I just have an "ALPHA PHI OMEGA" window decal on my back window, but there is also one with the gold greek letter in a blue oval and one with our letters under our crest. I also have an APO frame over my rear license plate.

On my car's rear window I have my crest with Alpha Xi Delta spelled out under it in Old English letters. My big sis had one similar with the Greek letter underneath and I wanted to find something similar because I thought it was soo cool.
Xi love to all my sisters! |
I dont have anything on my car, but I plan on heading over to the campus bookstore one day when I'm free. I plan on getting a GMU Alumni Sticker. I plan on getting a beta license plate holder also through my nationals. When I was in school I had a Sticker on my back windshield. Beta Theta Pi spelled out.

I have a "Locals" sticker brand with my Greek Letters, it's cute white back, black block letters....Delta Delta Delta

This really doesnt apply to the actives on the site but for some of us alumni theres an issue that comes up with sporting stickers/plate holders. Granted it probably doesnt matter but some of us have employers that take into account what you drive and that influences their perception of you. It may not matter but it might create some negative vibes.

I have the spelled out letters in purple and white, and my parents each have the Euro-style Greek letters on their cars.

ok here goes mine: I have a extended cab truck and on the back corner is the basic spelled out Alpha Gamma Delta which is white with green edges then in the dead top center I have red greek letters with green trim then on one back side window I have big red greek letters with a green and gold Alpha Gamma Delta going through the middle, then on the other side I have a red gold and green alpha gamma delta spelled out all pretty like and I also have an AGD license plate. I want to make sure everyone knows where my loyalty lies

I think it's really interesting to see what everyone has on their car. I did have just the 2 greek letters Phi Mu on the back of my car but the rear windshield got broken into this spring and i never replaced it since I'm alumna now. I also find it interesting that many of you have more than one decal on your car. Where I'm from it's not cool to "double letter" on anything. (ex. no more than one decal on the car, don't carry a letter totebag if you're wearing a shirt with letters) Not that I'm saying it's bad or anything just different.

on my campus
wow - i'm finding this amazing -- EVERYONE on my campus (guys too!) use the stickers that spell out the names (i.e. DZ Delta Zeta DZ -- Sigma Sigma Sigma -- Alpha Sigma Tau) I have noticed that my sorority is the only one that has the greek letters as part of that sticker. the guys put thier stickers up as well - though it's a lot more common for the guys who drive trucks to put them up than the guys who drive cars It's almost a given that if you are a member, and you drive, you have one of those stickers on your car.
|
This is a fun thread! I can't believe I never noticed it before. On my Miata I have "Delta Zeta Sorority" in my "back window". That sticker was put there in 1993 and is still looking no worse for the wear.
On my ML and my wagon, I have those oval stickers that have abbreviations of other countries on them (I have also seen ones that read OBX, meaning NC's Outer Banks). Inside they have the greek letters Delta Zeta. I would love to get a personalized DZ-themed license plate but my hubby's drawn the line at that since he drives them too! Pooh! |
On my old car I had my school sticker Georgia Southern University and the AOII letters underneath, along with the AOII plate holder. Since it got totaled after I went alum I haven't replaced the letters.
|
I have a transflex (or whatever they're called) in the spot on my front windshield where an inspection sticker would go. It's clear and it has a lyre in the middle. Above the lyre it says Alpha Chi Omega and underneath the lyre it says Alumna.
|
I have custom-made violet metallic letters in my back window, and my Sigma Kappa license plate on the back.
