Has anyone heard anything about how things are going at Illinois? I'm pretty sure that today is preference. Thank you!

I've been following my chapter's online photos and alumnae posts but no official word or numbers. (I also live WAY out of state, so there's that.) You're right that today is pref though.

Pref was yesterday. Bid day is today. (Not sure what time.) I haven't heard anything about numbers, either.

My daughter is a Pi Phi there. She said quota was 48 and they have 49. Sorry it's so little information!!

Thank you, 614! Any info is appreciated. Just got the word. Alpha Phi got 53! Anyone else have numbers?

Quota is actually 49. AOII took 59, SK 26, KD 45, GPhi 49, AXiD 48 or 49

I just saw the Pi Phi picture and counted 54 girls....shows you I know nothing!!

I hope KD is able to COB a few. Looks like they miscalculated Release figures by a couple.

KDs are solid at Illinois. I'm sure it was an RFM glitch.

That's what I figured, Irishpipes...it's still a crapshoot some years getting the invite ratio correct, and if a few fall the other way at preference, well you end up a few short. I thought they were a fine chapter...but glad to hear it. KD puts a strong value on hitting quota/total, so I am sure those slots will be filled pronto. The housing at these Midwestern schools is unbelievable!

Illinois has so many chapters, and they are large, so I think that makes it harder to predict using return rates. There are so many good, solid chapters "in the middle" that who knows how many PNMs will choose one over another.

As RFM gets whittled down to a science, some are just going to miss, I don't think you can consider missing by 10% a failure. They just got the release figures too tight.

Illinois also still has three prefs, which makes the calculation a little harder.

I just heard that KD bought the Chi Psi house (110 E Armory) and is moving to Champaign. While I have always thought the Urbana KD house was a big ugly box, I am still surprised. They've been there a long time. I wonder if Phi Mu will be purchasing the KD house.

They're still active on campus. Must be moving somewhere else. I don't know if they owned that house or were leasing it.

That was Delta Sigma Phi when I was a freshman, and then they got kicked off and it was empty for a year or two.

Yay! The current house is the ugliest thing.

Wow. This is surprising! KD built that house in the 1920s, and it's not like they are exactly struggling. This is a very successful chapter. The addition may not be the best looking, but the Chi Psi house is definitely boxier/uglier in my opinion.

Do you think your source might have been thinking of Alpha Xi Delta? That would be the only sorority chapter currently looking for a house, and the Chi Psi house wouldn't be a terrible location if it was demolished or heavily remodeled.

Just seems like KD would be taking a big risk, a large workload, and making a lot of alumnae very unhappy for a pretty small potential reward...

If they moved they would be one of a very few sororities on campus that hasn't lived in their house for 90+ years!
