New Chapter of Sigma Nu founded
 

I just wanted to brag real quick =)

Today, March 9th, 2002 3 years of work and a chapter of my life came to an end. The 272nd chapter -- Mu Tau of Sigma Nu was founded today. I was initiated as a member after serving three years as a candidate. At the University of Central Oklahoma my chapter is now beginning a new chapter in our lives. I just wanted to give thanks to all that have helped us to get where we are today.

Blast from the past for Kevin.

He's now a bigwig in the Mu Tau Alumni organization. Sigma Nu is doing very well on UCO's campus.

You guys may want to consider having a photo of the chapter house somewhere on your website. Also, do you guys administer the LEAD program at UCO? I find LEAD is a great differentiator in recruiting quality men, assuring parents, impressing the university etc. Perhaps a "member education" section with a link to the HQ LEAD page or a listing of the phase 1-4 LEAD sessions.

No news on the home page? What's that all about? How bout an article on your member who is president elect of the student government. That's great news!

The house is behind the gentlemen pictured on the front page. It's not an extremely impressive structure. My best descriptor for it would be that it's 'temporary.' It does house a few of our members and serves as a fine base of operations with a fine volleyball court.

Otherwise, I think if you go digging in the media section, you might just find a picture of the house.

LEAD is great. My interaction with the chapter doesn't, at least, for the moment, involve LEAD, so I can't tell you what phases we have implemented, etc. I have reason to believe that we have nearly fully implemented it since we won Rock Chapter Honorable Mention at the College of Chapters last year and we are putting in for Rock again this year.

I think we have a decent shot at being the fastest chapter to ever earn the Rock Chapter distinction.

Regarding the LEAD information, good suggestion. Perhaps our webmaster could be persuaded to implement something like that.

I don't know what home page you're looking at, but when I pull it up, I see exactly that story. In fact this young man is succeeding another one of our brothers who was last year's student body President. We're all very proud of both of them. The chapter definitely put itself into 'high gear' to support both campaigns.

I believe the other story on that front page is about us winning Greek Week. Regrettably, there's not much older news as the current incarnation of the site is a more-less complete overhaul, so much of that old information was lost.
