Just like U AL Mom I am a Woman on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (with apologies to Pedro Almodovar for borrowing his excellent title!)

Recruitment is underway at University of Oklahoma, and my daughter and several of her classmates are PNMs. My girl has been mostly on radio silence so I don't have any real idea how she feels about any group. She says she is happy with the invites she has received and is having a good time. She is very independent minded so anything is possible.

Info filtering in from parents of PNMs indicates that there have been staggering cuts early on for any PNM with a legacy house, even for the very glossy girls with perfect looks, clothes, connections, scholarship, charity work, and great conversation. Mine isn't one of those so she wasn't at all surprised by her second round invites. Doubt anyone will get a rush story out of this but I will try after everything settles down.

Pref invitations go out at 4:00 today. Very thankful I have a busy day at work that will hopefully keep my mind off this!

Sounds like with her frame of mind you don't have much to be worried about. Sounds like she'll come out just fine!

DiWants --I feel you! I will be crossing my fingers at 4 for your DD. She seems to be a strong young lady. Isn't it amazing and wonderful to have strong children?

Oklahoma!! I had many friends go to OU (I went a little further north where it bleeds orange) and go through recruitment. I would love to hear how it is going, and wish all of your PNMs luck! The houses are beautiful, and the chapters strong. Let us know where they all end up.

Good luck to your daughter DiWantstoTravel! The waiting is so hard! Especially when you aren't hearing from your daughter as much as you would like. Someday they'll be parents and they'll understand! For now, know that there are a lot of Moms here who totally get it. This site helped keep me sane last year.

Pref invitations are out, and I'm relieved! My daughter and her roommate are in the very fortunate group of girls who have two parties to attend and would be very happy with an invitation to join either organization. I think they each have a slight preference for one group over the other but neither would be too disappointed to get their second ranked house.

Bids come out tomorrow at 2:00...

Yea for DG! My daughter has some awesome friends that have since graduated from that chapter! They LOVED their 4 years there. Congrats to your daughter and to you now that it's over!
