"Sorority Boys"
 

Anyone heard of this movie, coming out March 22? It is supposedly about some guys who get kicked out of their fraternity and then dress in drag and live with a sorority. I haven't seen a trailer for it ... but it doesn't sound like it's Oscar material. And I'm wondering how exactly it will portray Greek life.

I saw two posters advertising a complimentary screening for this movie in the University Center today. They also have a professional vinyl banner hanging up near the sorority banners announcing their new spring associate members. I thought the proximity between them to be rather funny. I will be surprised if its still there after Monday meetings tonight.

Sounds like another lame excuse for a B-movie. It should prolly go straight to TV with a 2am Sat. night airing on USA net.

yea I saw a pre-view or rather the trailer for it a few days ago when I went to the movies, I think it looks pretty dumb. Like someone else said a Lame excuse for a movie, wait just like Kung Pow or whatever the name of that movie was . But I don't think it's a movie I am going to waste 8.75 on. I think I'll wait till it's on FOX:rolleyes:

Our university will have the free movie on Sorority Boys tomorrow for free! So me and couple bros will see the movie tomorrow, and I'll give my opinion tomorrow :)

haha I saw a preview for this movie last night...it kinda looks dumb but who knows it may be funny. a couple sisters and I my go see it. Im really wanting to go see that new Josh Hartnett movie about the no sex for lent thing LOL that looks hilarious..and Josh actually cant act all that well but damn hes a hottie!! LOL

I can't work up any enthusiasm for "40 Days." Anyone who thinks going for 40 days without sex is unusual or impressive obviously has a much more exciting life than any of my friends!

You're right, he really can't act! Just goes to show that in Hollywood looks can make up for other things.

I saw the commercial for it tonight on MTv and it's about some guys who's fraternity makes them join a sorority (not they got kicked out). Looks interesting yet stupid! I'll wait for payperview so I don't even have to go outta my way to rent it!

That is so true . .. I was feeling a little bad about myself also when I realized that the rest of the world thought that going 40 days without sex was such a rare and incredible thing . . . ;)

There was a free privew of it on my campus yesterday. i couldn't go se it because i had class. i had a non greek friend who did see it, and she said it was ok. not too bad. i want to see it, mainly just to see it.

Ok, so I had to pull up this thread and comment on this movie...

We had Initiation on friday and then a bunch of us went and saw it and I thought it was hilarious! I think being Greek makes these movies seem hilarious because you laugh at all the stupid parodies and the dumb things you've actually done! At one point, one of my sisters was like "hey, they put XYZ sorority in the movie" because the Tri-Pi sorority has some qualities of a sorority we have on our campus.

I would totally recommend it if you're in need of a laugh! :)

My Hunny and I went to go see E.T this weekend, and I was like, oh-are you sure you don't want to go see this instead??:rolleyes: I noticed that the sorority that they have to join is Delta Omicron Gamma...DOG. :rolleyes: The cheese of it all...

yeah, and the fraternity is Kappa Omicron Kappa...KOK...think about it...

Ok ok, I saw it. Was it stupid? Well of course. And totally playing off of a billion and one stereotypes regarding the Greek system. That being said, I'm a sucker for teen movies, and this actually had some really funny portions...they mock things like fraternity hazing rituals and superficiality. It doesn't take a whole lot for me to like a movie (I like and/or can respect almost any movie I see), but this one wasn't as bad as I expected. More about understanding the opposite sex and not stereotyping (the irony of it all...) than degrading the Greek system. I think I might just be too easily amused...

Okay, I actually saw it. It is a fun little movie to go see with a bunch of your sorority sisters, as long as you don't expect too much. A beer or two beforehand won't hurt either.

HAHAHA Actually after spring break like my whole sorority is thinking about going to watch sorority boys wearing letters. :D even if the movie is horrible, we'll have fun heckling it.

My teenaged brother and sister came to visit me this past week, and so I took them to see it because there was nothing else that looked good.
It was crap! There were a few funny parts but the story line was stupid and the probability was as well. The best part was the kids sitting down the row from me and hearing how they wanted to be in a fraternity after they saw some of the naked girls at the party! :rolleyes: Oh BOY!

PS. Without thinking I grabbed my favorite jacket to wear to the theatre...it was my Chi Omega jacket! :o
