National Number: 220,484

My local number is 335.

I used to know our chapter's number, but I forgot. I have no idea what number in the nation fraternity, but here at Lambda Eta Zeta I am 1048.
|
Delta Zeta doesn't give initiates numbers, so I really don't know where I am in the chain.

I'm #13 in my sorority....we're just a local!

In this Computer age, You can bet your booty that your chapter has an official chapter #. Within that chapter you also have a #! That is the way that they lend you all of the info that they need to!! How it is set up per each Greek Org. I do not know but you should be able to find out from your INT.

Epsilon Mu #106. When I was an active we'd have our roll numbers put on the back side of our Beta hats.

National: I don't even know if we HAVE national numbers |
We don't have national numbers, but locally we do.
D Phi E, #69. It's quite a conversation piece when I used to wear my hat to class that had my number embroidered on the back. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif |
we don't oficially do numbers, but we do have them in our pledge book that has all of our names in it and I think I saw once that I am like 184 or 381 or something like that

I am the 1774th initiate of my chaper. If there is a national number I am not aware of it.

Basically what I mean, is if you have to be found by your Org. or you get a Org. magazine like we do each quarter, they must know who to send to. I would be willing to bet, in their data bank somewhere you have a specfic #! Remember, you get mailings from your Home Org. for donations and information!
Check with you National and ASK them how they keep track of you! It may shed some light on it! ------------------ Tom Earp LX Z#1 Pittsburg State U. (Kansas) |

Delta Zeta has a national policy against assigning initiates numbers. The rationalization is that Headquarters doesn't want older sisters in a chapter to be treated differently from the newer initiates during their collegiate years. I'm sure that Nationals does have a record of both chapter and national numbers for every initiated sister, but Delta Zeta just doesn't publicize the information, and we are not told where we are in the chain as a general rule, although I'm sure there are some exceptions. I'm sure we could find out if we wanted to write Nationals and inquire. The recording secretary of each chapter would have the information also. But, generally speaking, Delta Zeta's policy is to not make a big deal about initiation numbers. I personally always found it interesting when the Pi Kappa Phis on campus would wear their jerseys with their chapter numbers on them. It made me a little curious as to what my number might be, but since no one else in the sorority ever made an issue out of it, I never inquired. |
