Top fraternities on your campus
 

Since there is a forum already for the top 3 sororities, why not the top 3 fraternities?
I'll start.

Western Kentucky University.
We have 12 fraternities but SAE is suspended for one year right now and Kappa Sigma is just rechartering this semester.
There are only two fraternties that I would say really stick out on campus.
Farmhouse- The have quite a few members, are gentleman, very fun to be around. They are laid back and probably the guys you would love to either marry or have as a brother. They have placed 2nd in Greek Week for forever, only because AGR cheats. Everyone always roots for them to win, though.

Lambda Chi Alpha- These guys are a blast. They have the best parties and are very active on campus. They are not stuck on themselves, but always do a good job at everything they participate in. I love hanging out with them. Lots of hotties, too,

Phi Delt and PIKES would tie for 3rd, but PIKES are too stuck on themselves(yes they are hot, but really, do they have to shove that in everyones face?) and Phi Delt has some internal issues.
Sig Ep is getting better, they have to rebuild after two years of bad leadership, but their new president is doing a good job. Sigma Chi and Sigma Nu along with KA don't really do anything on campus and we never see them. Delta Tau Delta couldn't even participate in rush last year because their entire exec council wasn't even enrolled in school.

Our greek life here needs some spicing up (in case you can't tell!)

All large, very involved, active chapters with extremely charismatic and gregraious brothers.

hey your school has AGR and farmhouse? is it a big Ag school?

no body can do it like theta chi can come on.

Um...too small to have a top three but the only group besides us who did the homecoming thing was sigma chi. And we won.

At our school at least when I was a active member two years ago were probably
1. Sigma Chi
2. Pike (they go by the slogan "love, hated but never ignored) this is probably true every frat hated them and every girl seemed to go through their "pike stage" sig chi and pike are probably tied but I liked the sigs better personally
3. Sig Pi (they were horrible and I mean horrible my first three years of school but came from outta know where and are good now)
There are 11 frats on my campus

Oh and optimist prime the theta chi's were never the greatest on campus but damn they could play some great beer pong and can throw a great party. They are fun to hang out with and are slowly moving up the list, they went from almost last to the middle now so I hear from my sorority sisters.

well we only have 5 but i guess i would have to say sigma chi, phi kappa theta, and lambda chi alpha... theyre all awesome guys! the other two just aren't very visible?

I must say that most of the fraternities had great a campus presence and were fun guys to hang out with. The fraternities that I remember fondly are AETT, Sig Ep, TEP, Pi Lambda Phi, and several locals.

wooo! I guess thats how we are here too, cuz we're so young, and don't make our pledges all sleep deprived and paranoid of everything. But word to the beer pong!!!

All the fraternities at U of Mich.- Ann Arbor are equally all good in their own ways. I would say that the ones that stood out the most when i was there were (in no particular order)....

FIJI
Sigma Chi
Beta Theta Pi

These are the ones that always held a spot in like the top 5 thats stood out. Hitting the top 10 would be...

Theta Chi
PIKE
Phi Delt
ADPhi
TKE

For NPHC's... Kappa Alpha Psi and Alpha Phi Alpha

We do have AGR and FH as well (Iowa State U).

The top fraternities at Clarion are Crows (Alpha Chi Rho), Sig Eps, and Delta Chi.

here at the University of North Florida we dont have very many fraternities or sororities...but I would have to say that the fraternities we do have are all awesome guys...so I figured I would list all of em!
in no order:

Tech Fraternities
 

Well, from what I can tell the Frats that most sororities want to mix with/do homecoming with would be:
1. Fiji
2. Beta
3. Phi Delt
4. Pike/Sigma Chi/ Kappa Sig

But, that is just the most popular among the majority of the girls.
Judging by the type of guy you would want to marry, The best, sweetest, most down to earth, caring guys...no contest... THETA CHI!!!!!
Second would be Farmhouse and Beta.

Florida State University
 

At FSU the top fraternities would be Pikes, Sigma Phi Epsilon and ATO. Sigmas Chi, Phi Delt, Lambda Chi and Pi kappa Phi all very good as well. All over 100 members each.

We have both AGR and FarmHouse also. Oklahoma State is a big agriculture school. I would have to say that AGR, FarmHouse, and FIJI are the tops houses here. We have about 20 fraternities.

there are, in my opinion, a lots of awesome guys in a lot of chapters here, but the most popular i would say are:
FIJI
Sigma Chi
SAE
Phi Kap
Kappa Sig - even though theyre on probation right now and can't participate in any greek events

AT UBC:

FIJI
Beta
Kappa Sig

At Santa Clara University in northern California:

1. Sigma Pi

2. Pi Kappa Alpha

3. California Phi (a local now, formerly SAE)

4. Theta Chi


Sig Pi and Pike are both around 80 members, and both will probably top 100 next fall. Cal Phi used to be SAE, but they had their charter pulled two years ago. They have probably 40 members. Theta Chi had their charter pulled last year, and are dying out. This is probably thier last year, and they have have around 20 actives remaining.

Wait until the Betas get back up and runnin! From the sounds of it, the house they are building will be the best house in the nation????

Well, when I was an active the top 3 were Delta Tau Delta, Sigma Chi, and SAE. It would have been very difficult to say who was the "best" of the three.....the Delts were the good looking jock-type guys, the SAEs were the preppy pretty boys, and the SXs were kind of a combo of both. Delt and Sigma Chi got along really well. Now things are really different. Delt isn't anywhere nearly as strong as they were. SAE is still ok but they are bouncing back from a suspension of a couple years. As far as I know Sigma Chi is still very strong. I also have to add that Phi Delt was very popular and was a close runner up to the big 3.....they were the cute preppy boys, a lot more laid back than the SAEs.

Nowadays the strongest fraternities are probably Phi Kappa Tau and Phi Sig from what I hear.

They were a good house before they got their charter pulled (my sophomore year) for a stunt that wasn't really the actives' fault. I saw them having an info. booth on campus. Their "old" house is right behind us and we lease our parking lot from them.

We have decnt AG program, but since I am KY I guess we have great AG ppl.

I am not really sure why they got into trouble in the first place, but when they came back to campus this past fall, over 500 men signed up to be 're-founding fathers'. Our recruitment team took the top 55 for their extensive re-colonization period. On top of that, their alumni have been overly generous, donating nearly $5,000,000 to build the new structure. I believe they are going to tear down their current house to build their new one. Good for them!

see, ilovemyglo is my roomie, and i have a somewhat different take on the top 3...

1-Lambda Chi
2-Phi Delt
3-Pikes/FH

they all have their issues as does every greek org., but on the whole, lambda chi guys prove worthy of the top spot (good parties, nice guys, etc., etc). phi delts are just fun, nice guys, and everyone on campus knows at least one of them. pikes are just on the brain, i think, b/c of pike's peak week last week, but they are HOT...and they tie with farmhouse b/c farmhouse guys are festive and super nice. :D

this is so much a silly thing to talk about b/c, i mean seriously...we didn't get out of high school just to get back in it with this type of labeling. ya know? but i had to comment, anyway. :rolleyes:

From what I hear from my friends at your alma matter, SAE is the most competitive house to get into. Beta, ATO, and Sig Ep are also the chapters that sororities with which sororities want to mix.

Sigma Chi was just allowed back on campus this year. They were kicked of some time ago due to pressed legal charges. But they are up and coming again.

ZZ-kai- That house is beautiful. The outside looks a great deal like the one that is already there. The inside looks awesome. Sounds like they are well on their way. During their recruitment there were girls all over campus wearing buttons that said: RUSH BETA

OK well at MTSU we dont have that many fraternities but my personal Fav is Sigma Chi**they're all my best friends and like my big brothers who are always there for m and stick up for me no matter what** umm lets see I also like the Kappa Sig's and Sigma Nu's I just Met a couple ATO's and theyre great guys too but we're doing homecoming with them in the fall so I may know more about them later. the other fraternities here are Beta, AGR, KA, SAE, Sig Ep, TKE and I think thats it.

Here in the LBC....

1 .Tie - SAE and Delta Chi- but for very different reasons. SAE is tops in numbers, and are the most fun guys to party and hang out with, they are known for being a very guys-guy, Alpha male type fraternity. Delta Chi's are known for being pretty boys, also kinda momma's boys, and the fraternity most of the sororities want to mix with.

3. Tie- TKE and Kappa Sig

at A&M in the early/mid 90's there were several very good fraternity's: in no particular order:
TKE
Sigma Chi
Beta
Fiji
KA
Sig Ep
SAE
I also liked Delta Chi-they held a powder puff football every year and were such courteous guys

2. SAE
3. SAE

Ok, so my opinion is a little biased.

We have six IFC fraternities on campus with another one coming back next year. I'd have to say the top three are Sigma Chi, Delta Tau Delta and a tie for third with Phi Kappa Psi and Lambda Chi Alpha. We also have TKE and Phi Delt. Sigma Nu is the one that is coming back next year. Sigma Chi has really awesome guys who are nice and very intelligent. The Delts are really nice guys who will drive or walk you home from a party. Lambda Chi and Phi Psi are both great houses, the only difference is that Lambda Chi throws awesome parties and Phi Psis tend to be more academic. The TKE house is a lot of fun here but it's just disgusting inside. The Phi Delts here have had a lot of problems with probation and the house almost being condemned. They only took 5 guys through formal rush with other houses taking at least 20. It hurts them that they don't have parties or are very active on the campus. Well that's my opinion of the Butler IFC fraternities.

I don't know how many nationals are even left on my campus, but back in my day, the top 3 fraternities were:

Alpha Chi Rho
Theta Chi
Pi Kappa Phi

I know that out of all of those, maybe only AXP is left. The others were shut down for alcohol.

At illinois state

1) Sig Ep
2) Pike
3) Phi Sig

we have about 22 chapters

Sig Ep and pikes are prolly the cockiest assholes you'll meet, but they can be.

3) Dee Zee
4) G Phi B

It must be nice to be at the top and have so many freedoms that one no longer has to behave as one should.

SAEactive- your looking too far into this. at a competitive school like this where the house you get in is who you are, the best houses are like this because we have the power. same with your best too i bet.

Best Fraternities
 

1. FIJI
2. Theta Chi
3. Beta

FIJI is def. number one, and why not? I am A FIJI :p

Our current housemom here at Nebraska was the Housemom at OSU when that happened.

It's obviously hard to make the decision on your own campus as to who is the top but I guess at UNL the top (in Alphabetical order)

ATO - Best parties usually
Beta - Won Grades, Homecoming, Anchor Splash and are probably the most involved house on campus
Farmhouse - Won grades forever until this semester, and are considered by many of the small town girls the guys to take home to Mom and Dad
SAE - "Hottest" Guys according to the girls I know, but most guys think they're cocky
SigEp - Another "hot" house with probably better parties than SAE

After these houses I would put Delt and Pike as next. Both really strong numbers wise, and Pikes are really diverse (120 guys, but no house). Delt is another strong Social house.
