Moo Goo Gai Pan kicks ass, people normally avoid it cause they have no idea, and its one of the best and healthiest choices on the menu. It's chicken and chinese veggies and mushrooms in a light sauce, very nice over some white rice.
Spring rolls kick ass, not as heavy or oily as egg rolls. Dim Sum also kick ass. Grand Marinier shrimp, kinda heavy but sweet jesus is that stuff good. Lobster cantonese kicks ass. House special wonton soup w/shrimp & chicken also kicks ass. Chinese food, in general, kicks ass. I love this cuisine! Too bad most of this chinese food isn't even traditional. A fraternity brother of mine was born in china and grew up in hong kong and scoffs when he sees what Americans call chinese food. But, ignornace is bliss in this case. ;) |
Sesame chicken is my all time favorite with sweet and sour chicken coming in second :)

mmm....yummmy Egg Flower Soup. It' a broth with egg. there are lot's of other variations of it though: with shrimp or corn or peas or small slices of chicken. Really hits the spot.
|
I guess of "usual" chinese chicken fried rice, egg drop soup, and beef and broccoli.
The place I usually go to at home in KC is phenomonal. There I get Amazing chicken which is chicken in this really good sauce, purple moon which is eggplant stuffed with shrimp and some other stuff - incredibly good, and then honey walnut shrimp - which is shrimp in a tempura coating, lots of honey and walnuts. Man, I'm definetly getting hungry thinking about it... |
Scheuzean (can I butcher a name or what) beef is my favorite. With a yummy eggroll too.
|
CHINESE FOOD! *covers eyes* Isn't the PC term "Chop Suey" or "Oriental food"?

Done right, I think Chinese food is one of the most delicious cusines (that and Italian are my faves). I've grown up with Chinese food (eat it every single day) so I have many favorites.
-Beef and Tomato Chow Mein -- I absolutely, positively LOVE this. I could eat it every single day of my life and not get sick of it...I swear. -Any kind of chow mein, actually....especially beef and tender greens (YUMMMM) chow mein, chicken, pork, etc -any kind of fried rice -mu shu pork -duck -shark fin soup (so expensive...but soo good) -pot stickers, wonton, dimsum, etc. -I love the Chinese restaurants' vegetable dishes...I usually hate most vegetables when my mommy cooks them (sorry Mom) -Broccoli and Beef (yuuuum) -sweet and sour beef, spicy beef (actually any kind of beef...i could never be a vegan b/c I cannot give up beef, ever!!) -chow fun -pepper steak -hot and sour soup (OMG...pure heaven) -egg rolls -any kind of tofu...tofu done right is also pure heaven...especially when pork is stuffed inside tofu -egg flower soup -Szechuan beef I have so many more favorites, but have to run now...so will post some other time! BTW, I hate seafood so I stay away from that. Basically, you just have to find what works for you |

PF Chang's is sooooo delicious! It is one of the few places I can get my husband to really enjoy eating out at! He's a picky eater to the extreme.... :(
