-bubbles (home made by my cousin & me)
-barbie dolls

Optimist Prime 02-13-2002 04:48 PM

GI Joe
He Man!! BY THE POWER OF GRAY SKULL, I HAVE THE POWER!!!

hot wheels and match box

Ninja! Anything that was related to ninja, karate kid, etc.

Legos. I want to play with legos again. When I get famous and can be as ecentric as I feel like, I'm going to have my own lego table and build race cars and rockets and space ships and castles and priate ships. AHOY MATEE!!!!

Okay, I'll calm down now.

josh8o 02-13-2002 05:24 PM

LEGO'S, LEGO'S, LEGO'S!!!

ShaedyKD 02-13-2002 08:21 PM

I had varied interests when I was a kid...
Micro Machines
Legos
GI Joe/Barbie (Ken was too wussy for my Barbies)
Skateboard/Scooter/Bike/Rollerskates
Cabbage Patch Kids

My very favorite toy ever was the remote control tank I got for Christmas when I was 5 years old. Don't ask why the heck I wanted one, but I loved that thing, and played with it til it broke!

HotDamGam 02-13-2002 08:54 PM

Does anyone else remember Skip-Its? I loved that!

James 02-13-2002 11:45 PM

Are we including sex toys guys? Cause that might be a more interesting list ;)

h2oot 02-14-2002 01:44 AM

It only took 6 message posts to turn this into a sex topic.

H'mmm, I like to play Barbies with my goddaughter. Its a fun way to share with her and it brings back good memories.

Betarulz! 02-14-2002 02:50 AM

We were talking about this at lunch the other day.

#1 toy for every guy in the house... Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!!! Hells yeah! gotta love those turtles.

I was also way into to Transformers, Care bears, and most of all MASK. Not a lot of people know or remember MASK but it was the bomb!!! it was transformers like only with humans and their vehicles. I remember the leader of the good guys had some red sports car that had gull wing doors that allowed him to fly - and whenever they went into battle they had these special suits and masks. Oh man MASK was sweet! Man I could go on and on about that show, like the "war room" type setting that would lower their masks on to their head...

Okay enough about that. I also had a bunch of the Ghostbuster stuff too, I just never got the fire station...

After that it was pretty much NERF stuff, micromachines and sports.

justamom 02-14-2002 08:22 AM

OK, get out your Antique Dealer book and you'll know I should have kept some of this stuff in a box!

Dolls-Tiny Tears, Terry Lee and Chatty Cathy, (MIDGE-Barbie was all sold out!!!)

Various-Red wagon (tied it to the horse) red stagecoach, toy rifle
marbles

Games-Candy Land, Cards-SLAP JACK Pitch and Liverpool Rummy
MOUSE TRAP!

We got old boards, took our roller skates apart and screwed them into the wood for our skate board. We also took rounded pieces of wood so we could "surf" on the banks of lakes...not too impressive.

aggieAXO 02-14-2002 08:36 AM

Brite Light

I always wanted an easy bake oven and I asked for one this Christmas but my mother reminded me that I am all grown up and have a real oven:(

legos

log cabin

I loved to play with cars and trucks, hated dolls

I had hundreds of stuffed animals and would put them in the cradle instead of dolls

my favorite thing to do: make mud pies

games: hungry hungry hippo, mouse trap, monopoly

juniorgrrl 02-14-2002 10:08 AM

I always wanted a Lite Brite but my mom had this irrational fear that I would put the pieces in my mouth, so she never got me one.

Well, in Dec. I bought myself one at Wal-Mart for the low low price of $7.99 + bulb.

It was cool the first 5 minutes. Then it got boring. But the pieces are quite tasty :)

My favorite toys were Care Bears, my Fischer Price Record Player and Tape Player, the Atari 2600...I had so much stuff its hard to narrow it down. Never had much barbie. Except for one brief phase in Kindergarten, I hated her and thought the was dumb. Stil do :p

SparkliiQTMTSU 02-14-2002 12:04 PM

Betarulz! 02-14-2002 11:28 PM

I can't believe I forgot...

Man how could I forget colorforms and pound puppies!!! those were great toys.

I must say that usually around Christmas time I recognize how cool toys are now adays, but I don't think I would trade the hi-tech toys for the ones I had when I was little. (Jeez I'm starting to sound old;) )

Optimist Prime 02-15-2002 01:31 AM

I just remembered those sticker things. They weren't permanent. You could re stick them and make up your own stories. I never had that many trasformers cuz I had one but kept breaking the so my parents said no more :( I forgot about popples and mask. Those were cool too. wow. Too bad my mom sold all my heman toys at a yard sale. Oh speaking of transformers, does anyone remember the one that was like a giant robot or something and turned into some kind of bug but then his head came off and it was a little guy inside there. HOLY CRAP!!! I just remembered Voltron. With the five lions that came together to be the protector of the universe. And thunder thunder thunder thunder cats!!!

aggieAXO 02-15-2002 01:46 AM

How could I forget Play Doh-ummmmmm, loved to eat it

Add some matchbox cars and you have my childhood. Shrinky Dinks were the bomb!

MIDWESTDIVA 02-15-2002 06:51 PM

I was a tomboy. I mostly played with tonka trucks, hot wheels and matchbox cars. I hated baby dolls and Barbie. (Still do). But I had a Brooke Shields doll. She had a head and shoulders only. I loved putting makeup on her and styling her hair.

SigkapAlumWSU 02-15-2002 10:49 PM

I had the chemistry set too! I remember begging my parents to get it for me (from Best for those who remember it) and then I played with it a total of 5 times or something.
Legos- I used to fight my brother for the pieces.. we never had enough
Rainbow Bright
Barbie- does anyone remember Peaches and Cream Barbie?
Jem- the cartoon; plese tell me someone remembers this!
My Little Pony
Fisher Price tape recorder- I loved that thing till I couldn't play it any more.

SilverTurtle 02-16-2002 02:00 PM

Here's my list
  • MASK- I had one or two toys from this show, and had totally forgotten about it until Betarulz brought it up. That show did kick@ss. ;)
  • Carebears: I had a couple stuffed ones, but also the Care-A-Lot heart shaped house thing they lived in, the "action" figures to play with it, and the Cloud Keeper and his car.
  • Strawberry Shortcake- had loads of the dolls. Don't know what happened to them though?
  • He-Man- had a few toys, wanted more of them
  • Lego's- my brother and I both loved Lego's. My sister never got into it. Until only a few years ago I even collected them (the original Pirate edition, which you can no longer get. One boat took me 3 days to get together!)<-- side note: all of you Lego fan's should read Douglas Coupland's Microserfs- he's a great author and there's lots of Lego references :D
  • Colorforms
  • Cabbage Patch Kids- I only kind of wanted one, but these were all the rage. And thebig thing was get a doll that looked like you. My first one was a black premie boy- didn't look much like me, but he was cute! My sister was more into those
  • Stuffed animals: I used to set them up on the stairs, and we had this chalk board, so I would play school and "teach" them!
  • Atari- well, it was my brother's, but man I loved Frogger!
  • Snoopy Sno Cone Machine- ok, i wanted this so bad, but my mom wouldn't let me have one because by older brother had one and it only made a mess. We went round and round about that thing. Then, my sister's birthday (she was about 5-6), she got a Snoopy Cone Machine. And she hadn't even asked for it! I still have never had one of those things :( (My little had a similar experience with not being allowed to have Barbie dolls or an Easy Bake Oven- she bought both our freshman year of college!)
  • Shrinky Dinks- I remember having Smurf ones and Strawberry Shortcake ones- those things stunk! But they were so fun.
  • Candy Land- my mom claims that my brother and I cheated at this game all of the time, but I can't figure out how. I mean, you draw a card with a color, and move to that color. We must've been really sneaky.
  • Trivial Pursuit (when I was a bit older)

alphachiohmy 02-17-2002 11:30 PM

My favorites:

Strawberry Shortcake
Sit and Spin
Rollerracers
Thundercats
Shera
My Little Pony

Those things were the best I still have mine.
