I am really surprised that some of you are able to Just be full-time students. The idea of not having MY own money never runs through my mind. I tutur in Spanish in the study hall on-campus and cater (basically waitress) events on campus.

Unregistered- 02-07-2002 09:45 PM

During the day I'm an asst. manager at the Ticket and Information Office on campus. We handle athletic and community ticket sales....so guess how I got my Pro Bowl and Janet Jackson tickets ?!?!?!?

In the afternoons I have class....

Then some nights I work as a hostess/waitress at a country club. The pay's great and the hours aren't too bad...AND I get to play free golf!

Some weekends you can find me knee deep in muddy water. For my scholarship community service I help maintain and cultivate one of the taro patches near the campus. Mosquitoes are a bish, I tell you!

I love being a full-time student and not having to work. I am super busy with Alpha Phi, being that I am the social chair. I guess that could be my job. :D

KSigkid 02-07-2002 10:17 PM

I'm a junior at Boston University, studying History and Journalism. For a job, I work as a preschool teacher, teaching 3-5 year olds, most of whom were born outside of the US. If you think you have had a frustrating day at class - imagine trying to teach a 2.5 year old Russian girl to speak English. I'm also the president of my Kappa Sigma chapter, that takes up a pretty good amount of time as well.

I'm a full-time student at Tallahassee Community College (and will soon be transferring to Florida State!!!) and since I'm not allowed to work in the US, that's all I do...study and go to school!:)

FYI, for anyone who's interested in why I can't work in the US...I'm on an H-4 spouse visa (my husband is working here on a H-1B visa) and my visa is non-working...aka they're allowing me to stay in the country legally to be with him. One provision is that I'm allowed to attend school though!:) We're working to get our green cards though...so we can buy a house!:D Luckily for now, my sweetie makes more than enough money to support us both...and pay for my school!!!;) :D

I'm a personal assistant for a family. I use to work for the family and then two separate wealthy women but I just couldn't take their complaining that they never had any time and how busy they were. Uh... you don't have a job, you have a nanny to take care of your kids and a housekeeper (if not two) to clean and cook. Your day consists of meeting your trainer at 11 a.m., shopping till 2p.m., manicure, and going out to dinner that night.
One lady was so lazy (or in her words "busy") that she wouldn't wash her own hair!!! She'd pay $85.00 to have it washed and blown out each Friday.
