Pledging while taking online classes
Hi, I'm currently taking classes online at Strayer University and want to pledge a sorority. My school doesn't have a chapter, so am I able to pledge at another school with attending Strayer?
|
You must be rich. Your school charges around $1,400 per class (probably a 3 hr or so class) plus assorted fees. You really should research getting your degree online at a local brick and mortar school. You could probably do so for less than half what you're paying at Strayer.
All that aside, what kind of sorority are you looking for? NPHC, NPC, multicultural? --and there's always Greekchat's own Gamma Chi.. maybe a perfect fit? |

Fancy718,
I'm running into the same issue that you are because Strayer doesn't offer frats. Can anyone point me in the right direction. |

We don’t know of any.

No - you have to be a student at the school where the chapter is located.

-- Are you trying to join a women's sorority or a men's fraternity? -- Are you specifically trying to join an organization from a particular conference? (NIC men's fraternities, NPC women's sororities, NPHC Divine 9 organizations, multicultural, etc) There ARE "online" sororities and fraternities. Do an internet search for "online sorority" or "online fraternity" both here at GreekChat (search feature is at the top of the screen) or on Google. These organizations are online, not typically associated with colleges, and some do periodically get together in person for community service, etc. If you are asking if traditional "land-based" fraternities and sororities at universities and colleges accept online students, they usually don't; but, each organization sets it's own rules. That means you have to research them individually. Best wishes in your search! |
