Male cheerleaders??

Do you think male cheerleaders are gay? I know every guy on my team is. I find 99% of male university cheerleaders are gay. Its sad too because most male cheers don't even look good. "Bring it on"(the movie) did not tell the true story of male cheerleaders at all!

Unregistered- 02-03-2002 07:22 PM

And the point of this thread is...?

I know the male cheerleaders on my campus give me eyegasms everytime I go to the games!

I suggest you check your numbers again...because it sounds like you pulled something out of your azz.

carnation 02-03-2002 07:31 PM

At every school I went to, the male cheerleaders were really hot and definitely straight. Most especially my partner.:D

RxyChrldr 02-03-2002 07:38 PM

I'm not sure where you've gotten your facts, but i think you've got the whole 99% of male cheerleaders are gay thing completely wrong. Although our squad was not co-ed, from my experience, the majority of male cheerleaders, *especially* in college, are not gay. They're pretty darned secure in their manhood, if you ask me. I'm rather insulted by your statements, and you may want to delete the thread to avoid the angry posts I forsee happening in retaliation..

SilverTurtle 02-03-2002 08:32 PM

who cares?

It doesn't really matter if they're gay or not. I mean, it might mean you can't get a date with them, but I'm sure it doesn't affect their ability to cheer, which is why they're on the team. (That or to look up girls' skirts :p <---- sorry, I had to!)

This is a pointless post, so I kind of didn't want to respond to it, but at the same time, I find it necessary to point out that it doesn't matter if people are male, female, gay, lesbian, black, asian, white, etc. Just hit a nerve with me I suppose.

Why the hell are you such a bitch to people? Pulled something out of your azz? THE GREAT GC MODERATOR SPEAKETH!

James 02-03-2002 09:05 PM

I don't think she was being mean guys, I think she was just making a general comment. So lets not jump on her too much. :)

I was a male-cheerleader and honestly I am not Gay. Men are way to hairy, insenstive, and un-romantic for any sane person to want to date. If I were a girl I would be a lesbian . . .:) lol

Its an addicitve sport for guys though because of the sublimated sexual tension. and honestly we really don't think about the sexual parts . . usually we just sit there and pray, "oh god please don't let me fuck up". Beause there is nothing worse than a failed stunt. And no feeling worse in the world than dropping a girl.

I got recruited for it because I am tall and strong, the inital girls that were flyers were a bit heavy. Like say 130+ which is very heavy for a flyer. The recruited me right out of the gym, they were like: you have a 350 pound bench press? We need you.

Whats sucked though as that the girls were heavy enough that it was hard to learn proper technique because you had to power them up. the first time I got to play with a leaner girl, I nearly sent her into orbit . . .

But, wow its such a cool feeling to toss a girl over your head and then catch her (tossed hands) and then lift her straight up by her feet . . I miss it a lot actually but who has time? What is cool is that there are so many all star teams now you can still cheer for competitions after college, maybe i'll have more time then.

Nah James don't worry about it. I've been called worse.. In fact, I'd be happy if he were to leave it.

Besides, his posts don't carry much weight with me anymore.

Hey damasa...if ya can't handle me being a bitch...use the ignore button. People with isht for brains use it everyday...why can't you?

Than again.... instead of a snide comment, you could have used the ignore button on the origional post in this thread. And the ignore button isn't hard to use on damasa either.

Just wanted to point these facts out. Now back to the sb

damasa 02-03-2002 09:27 PM

As for putting you on ignore, why? I like reading what people have to say, if it's good or bad. You could always do the same and ingnore me??!?!? *AN IDEA!!!!*

I don't have shit for brains.
Who cares if my posts carry much weight with you.

Now seriously, it's not that I don't like you (I don't know you).
It's the fact that you are constantly being mean and/or rude to people, but yet you get mad and bitch when people are mean and/or rude to you, i.e. the whole someone spelling your handle wrong, then me making fun of it.

James, it may have been harsh, that I agree with. But, I don't like the fact that she gets harsh with people on here either.

Ex Greek

I have used the ignore button on damasa before. I came to the conclusion a long time ago that I don't agree with a lot of the things he says (and vice versa). In fact, I didn't know what damasa had said about me until I saw it quoted in James' post. :p

Besides, I thought being called a "bitch" and being told to "shut the hell up" was kinda funny.

Makes me wonder if comments like that are made because some people can't handle opinionated women?

Oh, I love opinionated women. It makes for an interesting conversation.

BUT, how can you consider yourself opinionated by making a statement to someone about "pulling something out of their azz."

It hasn't been the first time I've seen poopie come out of your mouth, rather out through your fingertips.

I am a very opinionated woman - don't get in an argument with me, I always win and I always have my facts straight - i can count, on one hand the number of times i have been called a bitch. I think there's a difference between being opinionated and being a bitch.

Not saying anyone's a bitch, just stating my opinion :)
and back to the topic of gay (or not) cheerleaders!

hmm are male cheerleaders gay?? umm let me think...NOOO they are not! I actually dated one!! haha and I was a cheerleader in high school and I know that none of the ones I cheered with were..Where in the world did this question come from anyways??? LOL

Damasa -
I believe OTW was just making a statement...perhaps even a sarcastic one. Maybe you read into posts WAY TOO MUCH. Especially since the post wasn't directed at you.
Act like an adult... her saying "sounds like something you just pulled outta your azz" was nothing compared to you calling her a "bitch".

Rude!

Maybe she makes too many statements? I don't read into posts much, and I also dislike power-hungry moderators! So, let me get this then, in order for me to be allowed to comment on something, the post should be directed at me? Hell, if that's the case, no one would be allowed to comment on the majority of the posts on gc.
Nevertheless, you believe that OTW was making a statement, maybe I was too, it's not like her "pulled outt your azz" statement was very "adult-like either!

Jump on the bandwagon....

Thrillhouse 02-04-2002 12:04 AM

Damasa I am offended by your jump on the bandwagon remark. What in the heck is that supposed to mean? I know this comment wasn't directed at me or has nothing to do with me but still, ahh wait what the heck am I saying?

Lil_G 02-04-2002 12:20 AM

I know we're all suffering a little kevinitis and may have lost some coin on the big game as well, but seriously everyone needs to chill out mes amies.

Is that the same as the U.S. always wins the most medals at the summer games?

Oh man if the canadiens don't win the gold in hockey, it will be like the rams not winning the super bowl this year

Regarding gay male cheerleaders.

First, who really cares.

At one point all of the male members of the Unviersity of Northern Colorado cheerleading squad were Delts. I think I can say with some assurance that they aren't gay.

When I was an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado, I had several cheerleaders of both sexes in my classes -- and a couple of the mascots.

I don't think any of them were gay, however I'm not quite so sure about some of the athletes who took the class.

But to repeat, who really cares?

did you know that "bring it on" was filmed at my school???? yep, it was filmed at san diego state university, and one of my friends who does competitive cheerleading, she is a sigma kappa, people from her team were in the movie. also, a teke was one of the male cheerleaders.

DGPhoney 02-04-2002 01:31 AM

Like everyone else said , Check your numbers, and really what yr is it? I believe it is 2002, just because a guy wants to be a cheerleader or is a cheerleader does not mean he's gay!!! Secondly, I was a cheerleader in high school and none of our male cheerleaders were gay, how do I know, One was my brother, and I know fo ra fact he his far from Gay. Matter o fact, he liked cheerleading so much he went to cheer in college and now is a pro cheerleader for the Ravens .
As for the other Drama going on in this thread, all I can Say is What  . If you can't handle ladies with something to say, well just go ahead and be prepared to get your feelings hurt a few times. Opinionated women, are the ones that make the world go around, we're not afraid to rock da boat a little bit.
As Always my two cents

Male cheerleaders are hot & able to toss chicks in the air. What else could you want?

LOL.
First, my feelings are never hurt by anything said on these boards.
Second, the opinionated women theory again, because a woman has something to say that is offensive, does not make her opinionated. I can handle anyone with something to say, it usually makes for a better convo, it's when they don't have anything to say and make rude remarks, when i decide to make a remark or two back. As for making the world go around, all opinionated people help in that.

As for male cheerleaders being gay, I know that two on our university squad are, but I don't know about all of them, there are six, so i do disagree with the 99% of them being gay. i wouldn't know where someone came up with those statistics.

d

amycat412 02-04-2002 12:20 PM

Summer between junior and senior year in college I was back home in Las Vegas and dated a male UNLV cheerleader. He was definitely not gay, nor were the teammates of his I met.

DGPhoney 02-04-2002 12:54 PM

Hold up Damasa, before you get ugly with me,my post was not directed to you or was even about you, I just wanted to drop my two cents, and will always drop my two cents , whether you agree with me or not.
What ever problems you have with others on this board take them up with those people. Now before you try to tell me what I was saying in my post , Let me just explain my statement(not like I really have too!) First off, I was saying to what some other people had said about opinionated females. Yes, many people don't like opinionated people, especially females, because we're "supposed" to play the submissive role, but not every female is like that or buys into that crap. Now just because your opinionated, that doesn't give you the right to be rude , but thats a different story then just being opionionated!
As for the rest of what you said in your post, whatever, not even something I care to waste space on.
Now back to the real subject at hand, who honestly cares if they are gay or not. Is it such a big deal! To generalize and say, oh they must be gay cause they are cheerleaders is not only immature but just plain ignorant.
I say represent either way, GO TEAM GO!

*Reading is fundamental*

DGP~Honey~

ZTAngel 02-04-2002 12:57 PM

I have met many of the male cheerleaders from my school because many of them happen to be in fraternities. These guys are awesome, good looking, and definitely NOT gay!

KABillyMac 02-04-2002 01:10 PM

Blah blah blah yakkity smack what the hell ever give a dog a bone.

Did someone say the "peTurbed" was American for the Canadians are gonna win all the medals at salt lake? Did I read that right? Is there somekind of sublimnal bullshit in there?

GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10-4.

Edited to remove my distasteful joke. I was hungover this morning and not using my head. Sorry.

James 02-04-2002 02:25 PM

You know, it IS the stereotype: male cheerleaders being gay.

Cheerleading is perceived as a primarily women's sport even though it was started by men. Hey, I read cheer magazine lol.

One thing that might peretuate the stereotype is that we are told in no uncertain terms that we can't date our team mates. attitude can really affect a stunt. I remember having a problem with a flyer once, we couldn't even get chairs anymore. Thats a really simple stunt where the girl ends up sitting on your hand over your head.

I have thrown up 90 pound girls that have attitudes that are harder to toss than girls 20 pounds heavier. Ever try to lift a child that really doesn't want to be lifted? ITs similar.

Also, the girls sually hang with the girls and the guys generally hang together also . . . so it would help if there were a lot more organized social events.

KarenC725 02-04-2002 05:13 PM

We had this conversation last night for some odd reason. Oh, because a former U. South Carolina cheerleader was on Playmate fear factor. I do not belive, nor did the guys I was with, that the majority of cheerleaders are gay. They are ripped, hot, and get to look up girls skirts (the guys view, not mine please don't think that I want to do that!). So, from most perceptions and the few that I've met, I have to say this stat is wrong. And, as someone else said, why would it matter?
