what to wear?
 

So I have this date next weekend - and the person who is taking me out wont tell me where we are going and he wont give me any hints. I trust the taste of the women of GC so tell me...what should I wear?

you know you cant go wrong with black pants and a cute top. Also another thing that i love to wear is like a black knee length skirt, cute sandals, and nice shirt and then wear your hair up with like those cute sticks holding it up. Sorry, i forgot what they are called.

thanks for the advice cutie! i know how you feel - this is the first date i have had in 4 months, which is when i decided i needed to cross the dating picket line. after running away from 2 guys as fast as possible and chasing one guy till im out of breath. i dont have huge expectations, but its a nice feeling to be persued by a sweet guy.

oh yeah - are you all having weirdo weather in tx? it was 80 degrees here today! :eek:

yep, they said the high was like 83. I thought today was the day where the temps were going to drop so i wore a backless top but i wore my denim jacket on top. You know, that way i was prepared. It ended up being hot all day and then i got shy and didnt feel like taking my jacket off and having my back be exposed! So needless to say i was very hot all day! Oh and when i was leaving school i have to yield to cars going through at this one street, well there were a ton of cars coming so i was patiently waiting to clear out when this IDIOT starts honking at me(he was behind me) to hurry up! then the tailgates me.... thats when i started going like 30mph so he would change lanes and leave me alone!:mad: some people are so rude!

Tomorrow though its going to be in the 70's and by noon its going to drop down to the 50's and keep going down afterwards!! crazy!!

And its FREAKISHLY cold in Southern California, go figure.

I'd go with black knee length skirt, cute shorter length sweater and boots. That will be appropriate everywhere!

cant believe i forgot about boots! :eek: hehe, i guess since its so freakin warm here, i immediately thought of sandals! anyway, boots would look very very cute as well!!!

ok this is a dumb question - but i know you have seen other girls and formed an opinion. if i wear a 2 piece outfit - like black skirt...what kind of top can i wear that isnt conservative...but isnt to provacative. i dont wanna show my goodies too much on the first date (im pretty busty and dont like to flaunt them around).

amy - no clue on the weather. 80 for the high today. 40 for the high Friday. My friend is still jealous of the pic of jbj! have you gone to www.ballericons.com ? they have a bon jovi buddy icon there that made me think of you!

I would usually say go with the skirt, but since you don't know what you will be doing, I would wear a cute pant, just in case he has been watching a dating story and wants to try to impress you by taking you somewhere eventful unlike the usual dinner and a movie.

okay well maybe you can wear like a sleeveless shirt that has a cute pattern on it or like some random colors. If you wear a solid it might make your chest stand out as opposed to wearing a shirt with a distraction. I dont know, thats just my opinion.

If you dont have a shirt like this, and dont mind going shopping then i would suggest that with a cute cardigan, maybe 3/4 sleeve, in case it gets cold later..... you can never tell what the weather is going to be like.

Personally i like the sleeveless tops that kind of wrinkle up on top and lare ike a turtleneck in like a sparkling material. I actually have one in maroon! ;)

I love that show. I actually like a makeover story too!! Have you seen a Personal story? Those are alright. I am hooked on TLC... too bad im never home to watch them. Actually i get out early on Friday's, i know what ill be doing ;)

I usually wear a cropped (no midriff showing int heblack skirt though) turtleneck sweater-- if the skirt is pencil slim, it will be sexy enough without being too sexy.

Also a v neck--not too deep--is flattering w/o being provacative.

A date-how exciting- I am soooo jealous.

I always go to Express for any event-always find what I want there plus I have an Express CC so I can pay it off slowly.

I like the black pants and some sort of top. I have this top from Express that is black netting like material with long sleeves that eventually end in a bellbottom type shape-I always get nice compliments on it. I just where a black shell underneath-it works for every occasion and is not too dressy nor too casual just rt.. I am not busty so I am not sure what type of top would be appropriate or what you are looking for.

PS and as for the weather in Texas-it is damn hot and humid.

Damn Texas weather-now its raining like a freaking hurricane here.

Sarah-I agree with the pants and cute top-since you havent a clue what hes doing, at least you know pants are appropriate for anything. And a cute multi-colored or patterened top is good-yep, I am busty too, hard to find good tops that don't flaunt all your goodies!! Target has some really cute sleevless tops out right now, if you are around a Target. I love that store!!! Have fun on your date, and let us know what ya did!!

Definately the pants - what if you go go-carting? (well...let's hope not)

As for a top, maybe a button-down cotton shirt and a cardigan looped over the shoulders - loose enough that you won't feel subconscious but pretty enough you'll be the d*va you are!! (mind you, I'm a throw back preppie - what can I say - but do whatever will make you comfy!!)

I say you can never go wrong with the "little black dress", but then if you might go somewhere a little more active the pants and shirt are a great option.

I was thinking along the EXACT same lines as Neon, one time on a date, my boy and I did decide to do something wild and crazy, and we went go karting and mini golfing. Thankfully we hadn't planned on going anywhere too nice for dinner, so I was wearing cute jeans and a top. So I would agree and say pants, and a nice top.
As for everyones weather problems...it's been 80+ in the day and gets down to maybe 68 at night. Humidity in January...it sucks! At least I can go to the beach!:cool:

Okay, gotta add to this--
I just had my first date with my new boy and since I knew we were going just to get drinks, I wore these really great Calvin Klein dark jeans, a black sleeveless shirt, and a black cardigan. Now, I know jeans can be bad for a date sometimes, but its my FAVORITE outfit and I know I look cute in it, so I say go for something you know you look cute in and then you will be more confident and confidence is better than ANY outfit!!
SIDEBAR--when I was out with him, I had another guy offer to buy me a drink. Talk about ego boost!! It was GREAT!

Ok so the big date was last night - and it was pretty cool.
I wore a stone colored skirt that came around my knees and had that hem that is kind of frayed and a somewhat fitted baby pink shirt (i was feeling a bit daring). He took me to his parents place in the mountains and we cooked dinner and ate. We soaked in the hot tub and talked for a long time. It was nice and very relaxing. we laughed a lot and cuddled a little - it was nice to see the other side to him - other than the one i see everyday at work :D
